Seems like a scam called an old number and left the number above for me to call him back, when I did recorded message says ANZ outbound call and has rescheduled to call back later. I think this is an absolute scam, maybe even ANZ bank scam, finding bs reasons to call people to try and sell stuff... commission sales people!!! ANZ Bank are a crap bank with only their profits in mind, thats why I don't bank with them any more always trying to "SELL" you stuff... [***]

I had a call today from a blocked number it was the ANZ in relation to a personal banking matter. I was asleep because of shift work. If you've read the entries on this site you know the routine u go through for verification. I asked the person to speed things up and get to point of call. That done and call finished I can't believe I've received a missed call from this 8645 number some two hrs later. I unfortunately called back tonight to find out I've now been rescheduled. I definitely won't be answering it. In hindsight I've ignored calls from this number in the past.

I also bank with another major bank and I have none of the phone call persistence and annoyance from them like I do from the ANZ. A simple txt or email when they need to communicate is done.

If you are reading this site and work for the ANZ can u pls send a link to it to your CEO and get him to do something about it. Other banks don't operate this way with customers and it appears from the entries non-customers as well.

I've received 5 calls from this number over a period of 2 weeks. I have never answered, knowing that this sort of thing happens. They never leave a voicemail, so I always assume it's not important.... Someone I knew answered one of these calls and lost a tonne of their phone credit. I think it's some sort of scam!

I was on the phone so their call went to vmail but no message left. I called the number and it goes immediately to a recorded voice stating "Welcome to ANZ outbound customer care".

There was more on their recorded message, but the gist is that if you recently missed their call "another call has been scheduled and we will contact you at a more convenient time".

So they are going to keep call back until they get you...damn!

I've received two calls on my mobile from this number, which I didn't answer. The Australian Media and Communications Authority (ACMA) seems to have confirmed on Twitter that this number is a legit number used by ANZ (https://twitter.com/acmadotgov/statuses/190676910118940672) and suggest if you are a customer to opt out of cold calls, or go on the Do Not Call register (the link in the tweet is a typo). I am on the Do Not Call register, and in my experience ANZ have been very cavalier with cold calls and giving my details to third parties in the past.

I got a call from this number, then promptly called 13 13 14 (The ANZ Customer line), the customer service rep actually said that this was an ANZ number and even quoted a note on my account at the time the guy called.

The number is legit, but ANZ need to get there heads checked pulling something like this when everyone is Security Paranoid (Which they should be). All this does is bring a false sense of security that ANZ can call you and the call will be legit.

Had a call from this number and upon answering the call it immediately began dialing like I was calling them. I immediately hung up as I did not recognise the number. This has actually happened a couple of times now.

This is highly worrying for me and my family

I just received a call from this number, when I answered no-one spoke.  If I see the number again I will let it go to voicemail.

Got a call from his number from male who stated he was from the ANZ bank and wanted to confirm details about a recent card that was sent out.
I told him I couldn't verify who he was so wasn't giving out my information. He asked to confirm my name address and date of birth and stated the telephone call would be monitored for training purposes.  Seemed very organised.

Calls 4-5 times a week for the past couple of months. never leave a message. when i googled the number i found hundreds of comments regarding this number saying it is a scam, they are asked for personal information from a person claiming to be from anz bank.

I called ANZ complaints to ask about the number. They informed me it was the number for outbound sales. If your concerned about the number call ANZ on a number from their website and hear it for yourself.

I don't beleive its a scam. Just telemarketing.  

The silence is because an automatic system calls, once the system confirms you answered they transfer it to a person. They can't afford to be employing people to dial a number of someone who dosn't pick up!

Just got a call from 03 8646 8775 and when I answered they hang up called it back and it was anz but they will call back at a more suitable time

I have had 5 phone calls in a week from the number, never answer it and no message ever left.  So frustrating when I need my phone for work and have to wade through prank calls like this

Call went through to my voice mail. They didn't leave a message.  I do happen to be an ANZ customer.

Got  a call on my mobile and a man said he was from ANZ bank. Just wanted to find out how things are with me. He hung up when I replied , " Fine."

I received a call from this number and when I picked up they didnt answer, then I heard some noises and then they hung up

Had a missed call from this number last week, answered it and it was a man from ANZ ,the guy was very polite and asked if I had a few hours to speak about how my banking was going. Ofcourse noone has a few spare hours to talk aboout banking so I said no and he said okay I'll ring back next week, this morning I woke up with a the same number calling me so I googled it and found this site and upon reading into each persons situation they rang again so I just let it ring out.
