Report a phone call from 07953966066 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Zoa replies to ZoaForgot to add. I haven't had caller display for long, but since moving to a cheaper supplier I figured I'd treat myself to it. Since then I've been able to make use of the 'caller barred' feature on my landline, adding new numbers to it almost daily, then weekly, now I rarely get calls about 'That accident I had' and 'The PPI I'm owed' or for a charity I've never heard of but want my details to donate and enter a prize to win £thousands or a luxury holiday (yeah right), or a survey that somehow has details of your name, home address as well as your home number.. kinda scary.
So if anyone else has this caller bar thing on their phone, I strongly suggest making the most of it. - JimHad call from 07953966066 this morning (Sunday)
Did not answer. I think this may have been mentioned already but:
This is text to voice (BT) service. I have never asked for this to be enabled on my line!
My line is a BT one. You can prove this by sending a text to your land line.
If you listen to the message you have sent yourself you will then hear a list of options.
One is to ring 0800 587 5252 to change the options.
It is not clear from the message but if you choose to change the schedule when messages are received there is an further option to turn off the service (think it is option 5)- Call type: Text message
- julieSick of these text message's get 3-4 a day.
- justineJust had this number call me asking if i wanted to go to dinner tomorrow night. As it didn't come up with caller id i checked my mobile to see if any names came up. My daughter then checked on her phone and no match. She rang back to hear it say six line pack service. Hope she hasn't been scammed
- AndyWe normally just get id as 'calling' with this frequent call. This morning this number appeared 07953966066 so I answered it. We don't have an answer phone and the message said a caller has left you a text message but this was blank. Since I answered this call the phone has rung all day. Alternatively it will say 'Calling' on the phone display and next call it shows up as 07953966066. It has rung so much I have had to pull out the line.
- Caller: did not say
- Angry of AylesburyDon't panic! Don't panic! 07953966066 is the number of the Fixed Line Text Service which delivers text messages to landlines which don't have a text capable handset attached.
Someone has sent / is sending SMS text messages to your landline, most likely inadvertently. It's probably just a wrong number but reading or listening to the message might give some clue and should tell you the originating number. Don't shoot the Fixed Line Text Service as it is just the messenger but, if you pick up the message, you can decide what to do about calling or texting the sender who may be someone you know.
I once sent a text to someone's landline number instead of their mobile number by accident. It's easily done, so blocking incoming calls from the Fixed Line Text Service altogether seems drastic when it's most likely a one-off mistake which the sender has now realised.
With a suitably equipped phone you can send and receive text messages over a landline. AFAIK, it uses the Caller Id. signalling to deliver messages to the handset display but if the exchange does not detect a suitable phone it will store the message for listening to and notify you periodically that there is a message waiting.
You can retrieve the messages by calling 07953 966 066 for VM lines or 0845 602 1111 for BT lines (other operators may vary).
IIRC, calls to the 07953 number from a VM phone may be free but you'd need to search the DigitalSpy, CableForum and VM Community sites to confirm this.- Caller: Fixed Line Text Service

- BexI got a call from this number directly after I had sent a message to the other number which I reported earlier this afternoon telling them that they had been reported. As it is a mobile phone number, you can take the advice of Martin's Money Tips / Money Saving Expert - if you get a text, forward the text to 7726 [which spells SPAM] and it will be investigated! I've done that a lot recently to report spam SMS messages!
- Caller: Unknown
- BexApparently this is a T-Mobile text to Voice mail service.

- JockRHCall to ex-directory landline, sounded like a text message being read by a robot. Said "In case you have not heard, sadly Margaret passed away last week." My mother's name - but I spoke to her Sunday. Calling back got again a robot inviting me to record a message. Will complain to EE.
