Just a voice message asking me to ring the number

got a call from 07953966066 saying that the caller had run out off credit and would appreciate a call back.  As we have children living away I called and was told to phone to receive messages ..........An obvious SCAM dont call

Got two calls about needing help with using mobile phone too much very hard to understand but was a text speech with a number to call if wanted to hear the message again.. 01892539660266   but when you do 1471 it is
07953 966 066

Just had an automated message asking my husband to call this number, said it was from CCS collect and gave website details and reference number 17138327.  Husband called and they said it was about an outstanding debt (which we don't have) but wouldn't give details of debt or in whose name it was.

Today I received 3 messages from 07953966066 close together & when I called I had genuine messages.

But I don't understand why they weren't left on 1571 as usual, where I would notice them straight away????

How is it that this number calls me to tell me I have a message instead of the caller getting my 1571 message service & leaving their message on there???

this number called 11 times in quick succession. I have blocked it. Who is it??

Can those who are calling this a scam and telling everyone to block this number please research this before panicking everyone. As far as I can tell this is a genuine "Text to Landline" service, that will read out any texts that have been sent to a landline number for you.
The phone call service appears to be genuine, however the texts themselves are often a scam - as it is stupid to send a text to a landline, anything you get has a high likelihood of being sent by a robot or mass messaging list by scammers and therefore often come through at odd hours.  Either that or a friend/family member has accidentally sent it to the wrong number or they have bum-dialled you. Also, if the text message is long and has been truncated, you will get a separate call for each clip.

Do NOT answer calls from this number! It's completely fraudulent.

I had this number ring me 5 times on the evening of 24th August 2018. Calls started at 9.15pm and 5th one was 9.50pm. Messages were left on my 1571 which was repeating the number to call, 07953966066.

Sunday 5th Aug 2018 time 5.50 pm.  Answered a call on my landline saying to call some long number  to receive a text message. Woman's voice. Some gabbled noise after, maybe even laughter. Checked caller ID - number was 07953966066. Checked on Internet ....seems to be scam number so didn't follow up.

Same as above; the call went:
'066, just to repeat that number, it's 07953 966066'.
Nothing else, but thankfully I found you before I tried to call the number. How can it be they are still allowed to do this when there have been complaints about this number for 10 years?

I recieved two messages saying to ring back this number 07953966066 on my work landline (digital line). Was suspicious as the female voice sounded automated but was a bit perturbed by the fac that the message quoted my name and said I'd left a message for a particular person who it named and this name was a member of my team! Looked up the number before I did anything and found it was a scam so deleted the messages.

Received a phone call telling me I had a text message from Nat West and asking me to call 07953966066 from my landline. Strongly suspect this is a scam call.

I got a text to landline call this morning claiming to be from Natwest and asking me to visit some garbled URL and to call this number to hear the message again. Needless to say I did neither.

Sunday 7.50am "you have a text message from 07953966066 etc" This on  an ex directory landline!

As Heather (above) says, this appears to be a genuine text-to-landline number.
I thought it was a scam at first, as I let the call be answered by our answer machine. The message came from an electronic voice, with a lot of crackly interference in the background. I couldn't make out much of it at all, apart from something about an 8am start and to return the call by phoning a certain number as soon as possible. This was a mobile number, but different from the number that had sent the message (which I got from 1471). I didn't recognise either number but I've just checked out the number left in the message and it's that of a recruitment company that specialises in temporary work in the field my brother used to work in.
My brother's not here for me to ask but I suspect he did actually register with this agency, but gave them our landline number instead of his mobile, and the automated system they have for sending our messages when work is available didn't 'realise' that we're a landline not a mobile.
