- thecoach| 1 reply2nd garbled message from this number...???
- Mark| 1 replyI have just checked my 1571 answerphone, it said i have 4 new messages from 07913 281 717 and they ALL say the message is "blank", and to call 07953 966 066 to stop these messages. The calls came through last night (28th oct 2008) and all arrived in the 1571 inbox at the same time 10:58pm. These must be being sent from a computer/automated system, as its very unlikely a person sent all 4 texts within one minute?!. MUST be a SCAM!. Maybe I'll call TalkTalk who I now have all my calls & line rental & free broadband with, or maybe BT?, to see if they can shed light on the matter?.
- Caller: ???
- wot the hellthis number rang my 86 year old grandmother and said your grandaughter is at college ring this number back HOW THE HELL DID THEY KNOW I WAS AT COLLEGE !! it really scared her she thought something had happened to me
- Jo| 1 replyJust got a call (00:17am) from this number and it was a voice saying I had a text message and then it said somthing about lesbians. I put the phone down before the message ended. Not impressed!
- Mike RouseGot a message on 1571 saying to call the number. Checked here. Not calling. Will see if it happens again - if it does I will see if it's something I can complain to Ofcom about.
- Caller: UNKNOWN
- carol martinthis man sold us goods via ebay. because he took longer than he said it would we complained, not nastily. we were not as severe as some previous buyers but recieved some rather garbled messages about him being in the police force /army and now being disabled and he doent give a damn if we complain. this message was sent to us twice by text to landline
- Caller: ucupayisend
- gregI had a call to my landline from this no: 07953966066 and it was a clear womans voice, but generated from a computer. It said "I have a personality and I am good looking, so f*** off", CHARMING, I called the no to see who it was and was told to I could send a text and it gave another no. I just hung up. Seems theres a lot of morons out there. Don't bother with it and don't worry it is probably some stupid kid playing a prank.
- Kermitsfriend07953 966 066 - It's a Virgin Media sales call. Got a message on my home phone - i'm ex directory etc so rather ticked off.
Have rummaged on the net and found the number listed on the Virgin Media website trying to sell using your home phone as a mobile.- Caller: Virgin Media
- KermitsfriendSo I can send a message via the Virgin service and it lands on your answer machine annonymously??
Alternatively - Perhaps Virgin haven't quite got the hang of forwarding messages to the right people?! - stewg07953 966 066
Around 10:25 on Tuesday night We received a call on the land-line from this number, the wife picked up the phone and I could see by the question marks floating above her head she had no idea what the hell was going on. Picking up the extension I heard a robot (crappy computer generated like I used on the Spectrum decades ago)telling a rather stale joke about Jesus and someone else.
The voice said I was sent this by mobile number ???? (didn't get it) and should 07953 966 066 to cancel any future calls.
Advice:- Don't call back - It must cost them money to call you so if it happens again let it run on the land-line and/or ignore any calls to your mobile.- Caller: N/A
- NirIt is claimed in www.fixedtext.com that this number is the T-mobile SMS to fixed phone control number.
(see http://www.fixedtext.com/main_hints_tips.htm# ... 0fixed%20line?0
The service from fixed-text (which I think is by BT) can be stopped and handled by calling an 0800 number. I did that and hope that it will work for me.
So far I received messages only from fixedtext. - TerryI had a call from this number and the message said: "In the event of a fire, please read below...Not now you thick [***]...Only in the event of a fire" Coincidentally the fire alarm at my work went off 3 times the next morning.
- PaulToday at around 12 we got bombarded by about 12+ of the 'You got a text from 07904****** the message was:- "Blank".'
Repeats it then goes of about listening to it again or getting more of the message and states to ring 07953966066.
Now dealing with customers and this annoying thing going off everytime you put the phone down is a bit off putting.
So we rang the supposed senders number and they were very certain they had not sent any messages to anyone...
Messages still carried on after we had done that -.- - DuncanI got 33 calls in one day! had 7 yesterday and already had 6 this morning.
I have been plagued with them for years and have never had a satisfactory reply from any service provider or Ofcom. - dglpYeah to all of the above. Got a really bad synthesised voice message and a recording giving out number 07953 966 066, which looks like Virgin Media or T-Mobile. Don't know who the message was from or what it said, but after reading the comments above I'm not going to bother finding out. Too bad for whoever sent it.

- jackiei have just recieved 2 calls on my landline saying there is a message for me. it says to stop recieving these messages please call 07953966066 from my landline. i have phoned virgin up and they say they can stop the text alerts i get but it won't take effect until tomorrow, they also said to call 08009533333 and report it but the lines are only open 10am-4pm daily. i will report it and see if it is a scam. it does seem very strange to be getting these. my work place is also getting them and we have 30 lines which can be very busy
