    Hi, I missed a call from this number - 07973100194 - but no message was left for me so I am assuming it was not important. From all the messages on this site about this number it looks like it has been going on for a while! Fingers crossed I don't get pestered like some people have. I am moving from Orange soon anyway (rubbish service and rubbish signal - sorry Orange folks!) :-)

    Hey, they phoned me earlier to asking for my dad ( the account holder ). They didnt tell me what they wanted so i hung up, i dont thing its anything important, it might just be that there bored ;)

    I joined PAYG Orange last month and have had 3 calls from this number so far, each time I answer no-one says anything and hangs up after a 5 seconds.  These calls are beginning to get irritating.

    I doubt this number is Orange.

    If you are with orange, dial 150 to set yourself a password. When these guys (07973100194) ask you for your password, say NO, YOU TELL ME THE FIRST LETTER OF IT.

    If they can, then fine, they're with Orange. If not - Hang up.

    I'll be informing Orange of the number too.

    My mobile phone number is just that.  Mine.  I dont want people trying to market things at me on my personal phone that i carry everywhere with me any more than i want email spam.

    If Orange want to contact me via this number why don't they leave me a voicemail message saying "hi this is John Doe from Orange, please call us on 150 and quote reference number xyz123".

    I have been getting calls from this number every day for the last week, including on weekends. I am also with Orange - I have been for many years and have never had calls from this number before, but I recently upgraded my phone and for once didn't bother with Orange insurance. I also don't answer calls from numbers I don't know, especially not while I am at work! I called back the number and there was a message about the call being from Orange, so I dialed 150 and have told them to stop f*cking calling me, they have no reason to, and the man I spoke to said he would block the number for me. Fingers crossed!

    It is actually a legitimate orange number.  I called customer services and wanted to change price plan, their system was down so they said they'd call me back, and they called on this number.  I googled the number before answering the phone.  They might use it for unsolicited calls too, I dont know, but my call was solicited.

    They call to stop fraud they are infomation services and they make sure the phone is connected!

    Its clever as it prevents people from taking out contracts in others names, as these people never insert the sim card to acctivate it so phones is then lost - FRAUD!!!

    Just appreciate they are doing there jobs and that no other network do this and as a result Orange are the only ones that do not get hit backs, as they are following FRAUD procedures! If you dont like them looking after people then leave, no point in moaning!!!!!

    i had a call yesterday from this nummber, they said it was Orange and were asking for all my details including details of making a payment to them. i refused and hung up,as Orange never phone from this number and i felt suspisious.

    YES - It's Orange!...The nice lady on the phone even told me as such (am I lucky to actually get to talk to someone on this number?...) - Apparently it was 'just a courtesy call to see if your mobile phone is working properly for you'......She even called me by name....

    Maybe we should all start charging for our time spent answering cold-calls?.....

    I'm new on Orange, moved from O2 to get some signal when I'm at work. Now I've just been silent-called by them (probably just a welcome call that went wrong). Judging by how many others are getting silent calls from Orange, this may be illegal. Have a read of OFCOM's rules http://www.ofcom.org.uk/media/news/2006/03/nr_20060301 and if you want them to poke Orange about a bit, make a complaint about it. The more complaints, the better. If OFCOM fine them, it will get into the news, which will produce some red faces at Orange (very colourful). I've complained about other companies mis-using my mobile number, and even got a cheque back from one of them as compensation for inconvenience.

    So don't just complain in forums, get someone at OFCOM to complain to the right people. They might listen to them.

    Thanks for all the posts - people need to see they're not being singled out - corporate incompetence means we customers are just a statistic to them, and OFCOM can beat them up if it's the wrong statistic!

    I had a text message today saying my Orange online account had expired.  After 30 mins I recieved a call from 07973 100194 saying I was able to reduce my Orange bill.  They promptly continued to ask for my password which I refused.  After this they said nothing can be done if I don't supply the password and hung up.

    I have reported this to Orange Fraud dept.
