Add the name Janet Brown to the list! Knew it was to good to be true!

The phone number I was given was 07425 620 661

Like most people my suspicions were raised when she asked for my full name, address, phone number and the fact that parcel force have a 'Cash on Delivery' service!

Hope this person [or persons] be found... Quickly!!!

Also received the same email regarding parcelforce delivery and UKASH voucher - everything sounded genuine until we got that email - the email address seems too fake so I googled it and try to look for that 'deliver on receipt' service on parcelforce - not to be found! This Janet Brown is very active on gumtree it seems

She called herself Justin Brown as well. She at first convinced everyone for free delivery as she is working at Parcel force. She used UKASH the last step as the deliver man cannot accept cash. I was nearly caught. Her profile picture is the same picture from Lisa.

My daughter had a text and then subsequent emails from this email address after replying to an ipad for sale on gumtree. DO NOT SEND MONEY. My daughter almost sent all her Christmas money after the spam email from Parcelforce. I have reported this. I think Gumtree need to monitor their site as it appears this is very common.

and email address is janet78brown@gmail.com I had trouble contacting her on gumtree then got a text from her. Offered to drop lights off (alarm bells started ringing) then i got a text saying she works are sending lots of bulky items out and she can get delivered for free with payment on delivery. Next thing was an email from  royal-mail@courier-updates and  as soon as i saw it i thought it was fake. Googled it and ended up here

These are the emails i received from Janet about a stilhl chainsaw for £180. Luckily whilst I was googling the UKASH vouchers I stumbled across a thread on money saving expert and I am so glad I did! The messages were word for word the same. So cleverly done, gaining your trust and been friendly!! This scam needs stopping, I really feel for the people that have lost money to these horrible scammers. I will never go on gumtree again!

    Hi ,
Don't know if it's been long since you've emailed, I've been out so couldn't follow up on my text message. Can't promise anything but visiting my mum shortly, wouldn't mind making a drop off :)

If you'll send me your postcode I can check out on my satnav the distance to yours.

Reasonable price and accurate description, it's worth the money, no bad surprises. I won't go any lower.
Can be reached on 07425-620661 low signal strength area :( but check emails regularly.
    Ta,
    Janet.
P.S. Will let you know before heading out, cash only please.

Of course, nothing goes according to plan :( Unfortunately I've just got called into the office so very busy till next week, hectic lifestyle. However, back at work we have some shipments for large items with parcelforce all week long. Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge hihi company benefits :) .

I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery/inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment with no extra charge.

If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and also date&time suitable for the delivery.
Second option - if you want to pop in and collect you'll have to wait till next week or so when hopefully I'll get my head around.
Let me know either way. No need to worry If my reply is delayed since I'm just having fun working long hours ... or not :))
    Janet.

Great, I've just finished filling out the forms online and scheduled the delivery for Saturday am, 9-10am, ( at your end). The courier company will also handle the payment. If you'll accept and sign for the parcel the driver will then leave you a receipt and bac's me afterwards. They sent out an email notification on how to proceed. Did you received it ? Check your spam or junk folder as well, maybe it got caught in there.

Let me know if you have any queries, I'll be glad to help out!
    Janet.

I've received a copy of the payment instructions. They do indeed take payments in cash but not directly because drivers apparently aren't allowed to receive cash in hand. It seems you'll have to use cash or debit/credit card to buy a ukash voucher from a local shop/supermarket or newsagent that has the PAYZONE or PAYPOINT sign. You'll need to scan the voucher or take a close-up picture using your mobile phone and reply with it to the email from parcelforce. Also keep the voucher/s receipt for the driver who will verify it, nothing simpler :)

Here : http://www.payzone.co.uk/Store-Locator or http://www.paypoint.co.uk/paypointlocator you can find the nearest shop and ask for the UKASH voucher. From what I understand the shopkeeper will add 20% VAT if you pay an invoice therefore if you'd buy the voucher for online poker or betting website you won't pay the VAT.

    Hope this helps,
    Janet.

Hello this also happened to me & my husband, she tried to sell us a 50" tv for £150 i new something was dodgy straight away.
She sent us an email from Parcelforce & said we had to get a UKASH voucher, luckily my husband rang Parcelforce & they told us it was a scam.
Stupidly my husband gave her mine & his full name & address & our telephone numbers. Im just a bit worried about what they could do with this information.

Also Gumtree seem to know about this but aren't doing anything about it, but as she keeps changing her name & email address, i suppose it;s hard to keep up.

Yes that was what I was worried about also, I gave 'her' my full name, address, phone number etc! Which is worrying as you never know what these scammers are capable of! There probably some Eastern European men or sat doing these scams from Nigeria or something, like the eBay scams with the fake emails telling you to post something you've sold before its even been paid for! Really hope they get caught before more people get scammed! In the mean time everyone should keep posting and keep the awareness of this scam going!

I just received a text from her asking to contact her at janet78brown@gmail.com. It was regarding some gym equipment on Gumtree in the Glasgow area.
The text is now from janet.s.iph, rather than an easily identifiable number.

'Laura Milton' tried to scam me about a week ago. A hotpoint condenser tumble dryer in Nottinghamshire
It was on the Friday Ads site. I reported it and they removed it

I just had a gut feeling and checked her Google+ account. She'd been apparently suddenly been called into the office yet on her profile it said she was an engineer at Vauxhall
The pictures on her profile were all added on the same day too
    Fake account
Googled the Parcelforce thing because I was 99% sure that they do not accept cash on delivery

I decided to play along for a bit via email to see what she/he would say next
I said that Id rather collect when they were free and that I was willing to wait a while
    No reply....

I emailed one more time to tell them that I knew it was a scam, they are scumbags and that they should stop ripping people off.

I ended the email with 'moron!'

Still not had a reply :-)

We just dodged a bullet on this one.  Tried to rip us off for £190 scam selling a PS4 on Friday Ad.

We'll report it to Friday Ad and Trading Standards to see if we can get the information out about this scam.

My husband has just nearly fallen for this scam.....she said her name is Laura Milton and lives in Bradmore Wolverhampton. He was trying to buy a tread mill for me.  She said she was able to get free delivery as a perk from her job, or we could collect it from her next week some time. .....some perk it would cost a fortune to send a treadmill by parcel force.  Got very suspicious today when we received an e-mail from parcel force telling us to pay at our corner shop and get UKASH, EPAY vouchers.....thought the wording wasn't very grammatically correct for a large company like parcel force.  I refused to get the vouchers and so my husband rang her back to say we would pick it up......unfortunately the number is now out of action. I thought I would check her out and low and behold I found her name on this site.  Please be aware.  This is the e-mail address used laura75milton@gmail.com she has uses the same mo all the time.  07593536717 is the number used.  Her profile pic is that of a family and it says she works as a mechanical engineer for Vauxhall.  I will b reporting this scam. The site used was viva street.
