- p.eddy replies to personJust been scammed yesterday from this person, for £230.
Looked pretty genuine. I wished id seen these sites before I paid my money.
Im not fussed about the money, but by the way this person has took the money I'd rather have dropped it out my pocket.

- tdcs| 1 replyThis number is now linked to the name jennie bright.
Same e-mails, worded in exactly the same way. Selling a sofa in Gloucestershire.
Luckily I work in this area so spotted it a mile off.
She has offered us to pay cash, so I am currently working on getting better contact details to report to the authorities. Unfortunately, I think "she" may do a runner now. - Snooze99 replies to tdcsYep Jennie Bright now, same email as above, smelt a rat when she offered delivery free, also left an email with her Google contact info, SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

Babys Nursery Furniture advertising on Gumtree... how low can some people get!
First a strange no number text message from Jennie ( Jennie75bright@gmail.com ), following email reply - The wording made me very suspicious of the seller, so googled it... not surprisingly found this! Glad I didn't waste to much time or any money on this scam but still annoyed.
I hope someone get there hands on these evil people, what goes around comes around. Come on Karma do your thing ;D- Caller: Scam Adverts
- woosyJust tried to rip my brother off for £110 for a mobility scooter, he has cancer and needs help to get around, how low can these scammers get, we were suspicious about the ukash and parcelforce do not accept cash on delivery, luckily we came across this site.
- Phil MC KrackinLatest advert on GUMTREE isabella Magnum for £230 from Exeter Devon Jennie75bright@gmail.com
07973425052 the it goes straight to answer phone and says the message inbox is full !

- topboyshe's posting an ad on gumtree wiltshire for an ocean kayak for sale £250 and using the name
jennie75bright@gmail.com I contacted gumtree and I am now waiting to see how long b4 its deleted, the longer it goes the lesser i will have faith in them. I contacted them at 6pm on the 28th of July - jon mohIdentical emails being received in response to my enquiry about a Fender Princeton 65 guitar amp with a price that seemed too good to be true. Also offering to send the amp for free by Parcelforce. This time the seller is using the name "Jennifer Bright", email address: jennie75bright@gmail.com
Now I can see she's definitely a scammer, but I'm so glad I found this website otherwise I couldn't have been sure. - john replies to personi had the same messages when i answered a gum tree ad, told gumtree, they did nothing.
i got the name jennie75bright@gmail.com
as the texts you got are word for word the same as mine i have no doubt she/they are scammers.
The mobile no 07973425052 is never on and the recorded message says mail box full you can't leave a message. - johnsteer clear - total scam
- Roger walker replies to theoneandonlyI don't think that is the person. They would have copied it from the internet somewhere.
- Roger walker replies to theoneandonly"hey, dammit just read this and thankfully i didnt get any voucher or anything, didnt send any money- nothing. but she did stupidly leave her goodgle plus account link on one of the emails - https://plus.google.com/u/1/113897372883143159535#113897372883143159535/posts
hope this helps to track her down"
I don't think that is the person. They would have copied it from the internet somewhere. - Wfoxy replies to WatsonI replied to a Gumtree ad for a wardrobe. Received an email from Jennifer Bright who offered free delivery stating "company perk". Gave phone number 07973425052 stating had low signal strength but regular access to emails. I asked repeatedly to view the item but was "knocked back". Was sent fake email for parcel force requesting Ucash voucher be purchased. Luckily I have heard of ukash voucher scams, but this seller did state cash to be paid on delivery. Delivery never arrived......now no response from phone number....I am the lucky one, but they now got my address and mobile number
- Wfoxy replies to person| 1 replyThis is identical to my correspondence for a purchase on Gumtree. Email is word for word. Same phone number, gave name of Jennie bright, used same excuses....
- Tess replies to WfoxyI have had exactly the same e-mails from this person, who used the name Melanie Wherton, selling a scaffold tower on Gumtree, currently listed now. Also received the same fake Parcelforce form asking for £450 to be paid via Paypoint. Fortunately didn't get sucked into this, but annoyed at the waste of my time.
- All'Most Got'Me| 1 replyRegarding the payment you'll need cash to buy the voucher. Here www.paypoint.co.uk you can find the nearest shop and ask for the ukash voucher. Scan it or take a close-up picture using your mobile phone of the ukash voucher and reply with it to the email from parcelforce.
Hope this helps,
Mel

Unfortunately I've just got called into the office (i get sent countrywide with less than 24hrs notice) so very busy till next week. Back at work we have some shipments for large items with parcelforce all week long. Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge :) company benefits :) .
I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery/inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment with no extra charge.
If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and also date&time suitable for the delivery.
Working long hours so If you want to pop in and pick it up you'll have to wait till next week or so when hopefully I'll get my head around :)
Let me know either way.
Mel.

I just had the same experience... Too good to be true - a Fender Rhodes Mark II piano for £250.
I watch Rhodes pianos on eBay all the time (I will own one, one day!) This particular Gumtree advert was word-for-word the same / same pictures as a piano I had on my watch list. That piano had a starting bid of £500 - I was tempted by that and watched the auction through. I ended up not bidding and the piano didn't actually sell. So when I saw the same piano turn up for £250 I thought it was legit - it didn't sell on eBay, so they were trying to get rid of it on Gumtree.
I emailed my interest yesterday morning - I received the same text as everybody else, regarding 'more information', so I emailed her. Then the advert vanished... so I thought it had been sold, and why wouldn't it have at £250?! Then I received the infamous email this morning...
"Hi Not Thistime,
Don't know if it's been long since you've emailed, I've been out so couldn't follow up on my text message. Can't promise anything but visiting my mum shortly, wouldn't mind making a drop off :) .

I thought it was odd that a direct question of mine wasn't answered... Also I don't live in London, so a 'drop off' was not possible. I thought I'd call to made other arrangements, but something made me Google the mobile number (probably the over use of 'smilies' if I'm honest) and then I ended up here.
Had I lived in London I may have gone along with this... Who knows. Either way, I'm pretty angry that my time has been wasted over this. I hope they find out the person(s) behind it and they're dealt with accordingly.
I still can't figure out how they're making money off this scam. Is it UKCASH running the scam? If not, how does the money reach the scammer? Why can't this be traced?
So, Melaine Wherton, or whatever your name isn't, not this time I'm afraid.- Call type: Text message
