This is becoming a bloody nuisance, Stop it or I will take some unpleasant untraceable action. I do not provide a telephone to be bombarded with silent calls. Those who make tolerant comments about this idiotic process can go  away and multiply.

If this is from the 'Pension Manager' then he must be both thick skulled and completely stupid, which is just what you would expect from bureaucrats.

Called the job centre and they say that the number was not part of the job centre so beware. Make sure you don't give out personal information.

We just had a call from this number and it was regarding my daughters recent claim for benefit. They asked her a few questions then booked an appointment for her to go into the job centre next week for an interview.

Got a Letter from Pension Credit Wolverhampton and it had all my Details Name Address NI Number Date of Birth - The Works! Said will ring my Number (They quoted it) between 1.00 and 3.00 to check on my savings etc
Got a Call at 1.15 but rang off instantly - Callback was for the 08000232076 -- The message was they called and will ring back later if Urgent!
No call back so rang the Pension Number on the Letter (This was the Genuine Pension Service)
Nobody had called my Number according to them and they will rearrange
Was suspicious and googled this 08000232076 and so I am here!
So has somebody got every single one of my Details??
Where would they get them?

I can Confirm this Number is Genuine as I have received the Items (required in the Original letter and Number)

I think they just ring it and hang up as a form of ID check I suppose

DWP - left a voicemail and called back regarding universal credit - genuine number!

This is a genuine DWP number just had a call to say they had received documentation I had sent re my mother's pension and rang to ask an additional question.

Just got a message from this number saying DWP regarding State Pension claim - I rang back and it is genuine! Looking for confirmation of some info for paying the pension but not for bank details, personal numbers etc.

This is absolutely genuine, and it is the pension Service. I recently called them to process state pension claim on behalf of my dad. They called me this morning to update me on the status of a home visit. This is Absolutely genuine from the State Pension.

Just taken a silent call from this number. Well, it would have been silent but from the keyboard being typed on in the background.
Told them I knew someone was on the line and I could hear them typing and eventually they hung up after I called them an idiot.

One user in our office is getting calls to this number but as a fax machine, its very annoying how do we stop it.

this caller my 80 year old mother and asked for her bank details as she was going out she asked them to call back they did 3 days later and my brother answered the phone they asked him to give them her bank details are they were updating their data. I have phoned them a few times and keep getting you have called the DWP but no one is available I know its a scam

What a nightmare. Not the DWP but Capita Customer Management in Rotherham, who are contracted to work for the DWP. She said the call was from the DWP which is patently false. I applied for Universal Credit and they said they were going to call me but never said from where. I only managed to find out it was what it was by Googling and finding a FOIA request made on all DWP related numbers, (though it isn't in there as anything to do with Universal Credit). Google "08000232076 whatdotheyknow" and you should be able to find it.

So if you're happy giving your details to Capita then go for it, but make a complaint to them & the DWP if they mislead you because it isn't on. They should be a lot more professional.

Genuine call from DWP regarding my cousin's Pension Credit review. I have Power of Attorney. They sent out a letter to inform me that they would be doing the review by phone, then rang a couple of weeks later to arrange a convenient time to phone again and go through the claim.

Yes its the DWP Pension Service and they have been very pleasant, efficient and helpful setting up my brother's state pension.

Got call yesterday said they wanted to talk to me about pension credit. Told them i would not discuss this on the phone and they said that they would send me a form instead. Lets see if this happens.
