This was a genuine call from the DWP one day after my on-line application for Universal Credit. They called in order that an "evidence" interview could be arranged at my local Job Centre Plus

Got a call from this number. They left a message saying they were from a pension service, but I couldn't make out what the word before pension service was (might have been 'future'). She said she was in Newcastle, and would call me on the other number I had given her.  I have never contacted these people before, so presume it is just a scam.

Had some phone calls and ignored. When I decided to answer it, it turns out to be Job Centre Plus.

Can confirm as I did speak to someone there regarding a new appointment

You are right to be wary. The DWP department should NOT ask for confidential details over the phone. If they need such details then the request should be in a private letter only. There are too many scams operating these days and we are always being told never to reveal your details over the phone. And very rightly so.

26th october 2015 i was called today around 12pm on my landline number by a man claiming to be jim with a scottish accent he said he was from the dwp and wanted to visit my bungalow on 3rd of november . i pressed 1471 and got 08000232076 so i called it back and it was a woman takling on the answer phone saying it was the pensions bye. he wanted my bank details but i wouldnt give them to him as i was sucsptious.i phoned the dwp on station street nottngham they said it was not logged in there system no letter has been sent from the dwp .

It is a genuine DWP number. I work for them and if my boss calls me from the office it comes up as this number on 1471.

Definitely DWP for me calling about a claim for Universal Credit, all details were correct and was given appointment to attend job centre and given correct job centre to attend and name of person going to review me. These calls etc are important because they will do anything to sanction you these days.

Just recieved call from this number with a female voice saying "hi its just me" asked who was calling and they hung up

this is DWP number  I missed the call but received a text  shortly after saying who they were.

I got a call asking about a recent claim I applied for..however 7:30pm dwp wouldn't call

Got a call from that tel No at 3:30 pm on a Sunday, said they were from pension service and had post returned to them and wanted to check my address , I said i haven' t returned any post  and what's more I had a letter from DWP just yesterday I said send the
Letters back, they said to where,  I said to the address you have,  then I said what address do you have, they said we can' tell you so I said we are going no where good bye, all very fishy

The caller 'Tracy' said she was from DWP and was looking to confirm certain information, e.g. NI number, address, marital status. She claimed a letter had been returned and hence there was a risk of benefits being stopped if info not confirmed. It was interesting that the call to my wife was allowed to continue with myself without seeking permission from my wife.

Caller asked for my wife to call Pension Service when she was in.She did, they had no record of calling her..I assume this was either spam or that something more devious was happening!!

I checked with DWP and they confirmed it with me

I called it back got a pre-recorded message telling me "Pension services tried to call me, they will call me back."

Called twice by someone with a very thick foreign accent who clearly was unsure who had answered.

I won't to know who this is calling me they say they r from working pensions?
