Have had a number of silent calls, today was just connected to office chat. Found out details here. Called SKY to remind them that I have not asked for any calls from third parties and if they are calling on behalf of Sky do not want any sales calls. They have now made me "Ex-Directory" and state it should stop ALL additional calls

The last time when they rang I told he or she to F-OFF!
before they had time to speak... it gets you like that

Its Domestic & General, they work alongside SKY selling extended warranties on your equipment like sky box, internet routers and then offer warranties for other household items like fridge, television etc. If u dont want any warranties from them you really need to stand your ground with them as they try their hardest to sell it to you.

I've just had a call from them and was told they're the only approved insurance provider endorsed by Sky.

I let him babble on about what it covered and told him I wasn't interested.  He asked why so I told him I didn't want to pay for it and hung up.

This number called today and it was totally silent (which annoys the heck out of me) but I'm sure they will try again. They have phoned before and gave the impression they were from Sky, but tried to sell us insurance.

they rang me the other day to ask if i wanted to take cover out on my sky boxes as the  belong to me now so thats what they will be trying to flog you i imagine

Honestly this number rings me 3 times a day. Absolute jokers. TELEPEST. Call blocker all the way from now on.

phone every day while i am a work left answer machine on no message then they phoned i was on holiday i answered but nobody speaks they just hold the line a few seconds then hang up on you.

This is Domestic and General trying, yet again, to sell insurance for my Sky equipment. They also phone about stuff we've bought from Curry's and Comet.
They always ask if things are working well and I always say everything is fine.
This time I said I'm having lots of problems (I'm not) and will their policy cover the box and cabling now it is showing signs of breaking down! The answer, of course, is no. Perhaps they won't call again now they think I may be a claim waiting to happen.
My mother in law was conned into one of these policies years ago when she joined Sky. £8+ a month on top of her Sky subscription. When her digibox was playing up she couldn't use them as she is deaf and couldn't understand what they were telling her to do. I ended up buying a second hand HDbox on eBay for £25 and she is now really happy with having catchup and on demand TV. All the policy would have done is repaired or swapped her old digibox for an equivalent.
She has now cancelled the insurance given that she couldn't use it and for what she's already paid them over the years could have had a brand new 1Tb box from Sky themselves for less!

stop sky you are dear enough

I get a call at least once a week from Sky on this number, as far as I am concerned, any damage to my system externally is covered by my Home Contents insurance, any other fault is covered by SKY. Should I have a fault with their equipment and they won't deal with it for free, I will just cancel my Contract with them and re-register as a new customer a few days later thereby getting a new Box to replace my old broken one with no outlay.

Just had a cold call from 08004790758. This was Sky Protect (Domestic & General Insurance) trying to sell me insurance cover for my Sky HD Box.
The female caller told me twice that she was ringing on behalf of Sky. That is not correct, and may even amount to misrepresentation!.
Sky may well endorse D&G's product, but Sky Protect are certainly NOT ringing me ON BEHALF of Sky.
I asked the caller for a phone number that I could call her back on. Her response? She said "What do you want our phone number for?"
I think that response tells you all you need to know about Sky Protect!! We certainly wont be taking out any insurance cover policy with them.

Just received a call, which I didn't answer. Another number to add to the blocked numbers list.

Used the blocking option on my iPhone to stop these from calling me again. The guy who called me didn't even speak to me as he was putting his order in for an energy drink to his colleague!! When he realised I'd answered, he hung up. This site is so useful. Blocked!!!
