- JayI had a call also from 08004790758 and wasn't sure who it was, as I normally think if it is important they will leave a message. As they left no message, I googled the number and thanks you guys, I now know not to call it back from my mobile as per the costs. So contrary to the person who thinks we are sad, it sometimes helps with un-necessary mobile call costs to have this site.

sky protect is the only official sky insurance scheme but it is run by Domestic and general
remember though sky will come out and fix your box with a 3 month guarantee for £65.00.whatever the problem dish,cable or box (if required you will get a recon box though)
the caller did not like that i knew this and tried to tell me this was a call out charge and you would be billed extra for work.....this is untrue
not worth paying £96.00 a year if your box develops a fault highly unlikely twice in a year and very often sky repair for free if you moan long enough..... - jennyget a daily call on my mobile from this number.
- MarkI have received four of these calls recently. D&G on behalf of Sky. Once you tell them you're not interested, they become very angry and very rude. I give it straight back in spades. Their aggressive behaviour suggests they're a very UN professional outfit.

I asked what it was about. They said it was about an installation that she had, and that my daughter had given my landline as her contact number.
My Daughter has not lived at my address for several years and I was concerned why she would have given my number to Sky.
I said my daughter had very recently moved from the installation address that they mentioned. I asked them to give me a number so that my Daughter could ring them. They declined.
I had been told that the conversation may be recorded.
I wonder? Did Sky get my telephone number from my daughter's telephone records?

- BayshHad a number of calls to my landline from this number over the last six weeks or so. Answered a couple but they were silent when I answered. I am ex-directory and registered as a number that does not want marketing calls. I find this unwanted intrusion into my life utterly infuriating.

- teriThis sky ring for u to take out an insurance on ur sky equipment I did answer it and it is sky ringing on be handle of domestic and general they r level it cover all equipment right down to ur control had any one sky u have in ur house for 7.00 per month the only thing now I don't answer it is because the want ur bank details before u have a chance to look at any paper work u only get paper work after giving ban details so its a/no go for me mind u they know what u have and if u have broad band sky talk or multi room too I have even rang sky about it and this is true but like I said for me paper work to read first before I decide to take but no paper work no cover taken

- hamsterJust had a call off of these from 'sky' about insuring our sky boxes as the warranty is due to expire. We told them this wasn't until december. Asked how much it would be and got told £8.25 per month (£99 per year) and the first payment would be due now? When we queried this saying that the warranty didnt finish until december they had no answer. We then hung up. Theres simple answers to this really rather than taking on this 'insurance' that will save you money rather than wasting it protecting your equipment with these guys.
For a start you can pick up second had Sky boxes on ebay for on average £50 (sky+hd one) controllers can be bought new for about £25 or about £10 on ebay so even if both of these 'break' once a year it is still cheaper to replace them yourself than paying out to have them insured and if you put the £8.25 away each month then if they dont break in the year you have £100 rainy day money. On the occassions i have ha problems with my Sky +hd box i;ve managed to find the fix myself on line, mainly involving a manual reset, it does lose all of your pre recorded programmes but then you would lose these anyway. The other option is if its after 12 months you won't generally be tied into a set period contract with sky so you can cancel your sky account then set it back up again and get a new box for free- Caller: sky

- mspI just had a call from Sky Domestic and General Household insurance. Who gave them my details??? Sky claims they didnt!! They call me all the time. An incredibly rude lady tried to sell me some insurance over the phone by speeding through some stupid script no one can understand. When asked a question she replied I just todl you!! and when i said i didnt want any insurance she hanged up on me!!! who are these people???

- HolMcThis complany called me for days and days and I was ignoring as I knew from here who was calling. Eventually got fed up and answered, was someone trying to sell me insurance for my sky box. When I told him that I didn't want it he got really snippy and asked me to explain EXACTLY why I didn't want it, then argued the point after everything I tried to say. Had to put the phone down after 5 mins of him practically berating me for not buying this insurance.
