It was D &G on behalf of Sky re Sky box and cables etc and that it is out of warranty.  Genuine call and telephonist was pleasant, probably going to sell insurance but details will be in the post so husband can bin if he wants!

Surprised to get an 0800 call at 19.40. I had recently had a letter from Sky about insuring my Sky Box {went in the bin} and also already have contracts with Domestic and General, was not surprised to read this but was surprised the last entries were nearly 6 years ago. Obviously started using this number again! On my blocked list now.

My mobile called and when I didn't answer landline rang immediately, then the woman had no idea she was talking to an answering machine, asked for me, got my name completely wrong, and spent 10 seconds going "hello?hello?hello?" Complete nuisance calls. Apparently this is Insurance for Sky?  Forget it.

Repeated calls to my mobile from this number.  On the odd occasion when I have picked up, have been met by silence.  Have not identified the caller myself, but have recently moved and transferred my Sky account to the new address -- so the Sky ident seems likely.

Also had a call on our new landline number, ex-directory, which we haven't given out to anyone yet!

They called and said about my new sky installation, which the sky’s in hubbys name, so I said call back later.
I got in touch with hubby has no idea he has nothing booked to be Installed.
Why are companies allowed to sell their customers details on

Domestic & General trying to flog cover for Sky dish; they asked what would happen if something went wrong with it.  I said I only rent so if Sky don't replace faulty stuff they can take it all away.  Why should I pay nearly £20.00 a month insurance cover for something I do not actually own and Sky should repair free of charge considering what their packages now cost.

Surely we all know 0800 numbers are going to be [***]/spam. Simple answer is.....don’t answer the call. Just block it.

They called landline.  Now I know who they are I will play them at their own game.

Got calls on my iPhone from this number so I added it to the list of 'Blocked Calls' and hey presto.....no more calls! (touch wood and all that)

this is scam call wanting your credit card numbers to pay insurance and empty your account

After ignoring calls for about a week I finally answered one. It appears as Sky Insurance on my mobile phone, so you think it has something to do with Sky Broadband etc. The implication made by the caller was that they were from Sky, was I the account holder? They wanted five minutes of my time to tell me of latest additions. I said I didn't have 5 minutes. I believe this is a scam. I have since blocked the number.

Been calling my mobile twice a day morning and evening no message left. Obviously not important.

They new a lot about my account and offered protection on my sky boxes and tv. They asked for my bank details and i hung up

Its illegal for anyone to hold your number on their database without your consent. They can be fined huge sums under the GDPR regulations. Report them

Annoying unsolicited calls

This most annoying number every day getting calls on land and mobile have clearly nothing else to do and just annoying people remove my number has I am fed up with it

Probably D&G touting for business now that SKY box out of warranty. May be data protection breach giving them my mobile number.
