I just got a call from this number. I am with TT but haven't requested a mac code

Got a call from The Carphone Warehouse regardsing an enquiry I had.

Carphone warehouse, asked me why I cancelled my contract

they called to ask me when i was getting married and to send them a ticket so they could attend, i'm like WTF i'm not even with TT.

They call me at least 3 times a day!!! How do you stop it??

Hi all.

I can asure you these calls (despite what they are saying) do not come from Talktalk. It's another dodgy company targeting people. They are asking for MAC codes in the hope that you'll call TT and get one and hand it over. Unfortunately, in this country, at the moment, the minute you give bank detail over the phone, you are tied into a contract. If you are in any doubt, ask the caller to either quote you your customer number (if you signed up instore - it will be on your contract and/or recipt) or your account number. They won't be able to!

Think about it, Why would a company call you asking you to leave? (Which is in effect what they would be doing by giving you your MAC code!)

I have spoke to the retail team at Talktalk (I am a Carphone Warehouse employee) and they have checked against all the phone umbers they use and it doesn't flag. They have forwarded the number on to the team that deal with these issues and hopefully they'll stop calling you all!!

Do not be surprised if it's the same company, based in Wales, that try this on with mobile contracts aswell!!

It is Opal - who are the TalkTalk business broadband people. I ignored the number and they left me a voicemail with a 01925 direct line to call them back on regarding an installation date for my business broadband.

I had a call from 08009555544 and a man with a liverpool acent said "whos this?" very rudely and I told him my first name and he said "right and hung up" I rang talk talk to comaplin about this call and they said they could not even get back to me as I was not one of their customers. How stupid is that?

This is Carphone Warehouse sniffing around. Beware their appalling TalkTalk service. If they spent a tenth of the time providing customer service as they do advertising themselves, they wouldn't have to employ people full time 'blogging' about what a pleasure it is being being a Talk Talk customer!

Just got a call from 08009555544. Bloke with a Liverpool accent said, "Hi is that Tom?". I replied, "no, wrong number". To which I got, "sorry" and he hung up. Weird!

When calling this number get automated annoucenment: You have been called by your telecoms provider, please refer to your customer sercvice literatre for the relevnt telephone number..

it then terminates the call.

It's a blanket number that shows when someone at Opal Telecom dials out from their switchboard. They are into so many things that it's not possible to say this is just used by TalkTalk or any other part of the Carphone Warehouse empire.
I was a retailer of services for another company, which were taken over by Opal. I've had nothing but bother since, but thats another story...

I moved house 3 months ago. Why can I not have my phone installed to my new house. they make me pay for it , but there is nothing happening. Why?

I received a call from this number, put down as soon as I picked up. But I haven't asked for an MAC code.

got a call from this number: 01925554000 spoofing as 08009555544 both are TalkTalk/Opal Telecom (part of Carphone Warehouse). When I answered the call I couldn't hear anything and the call was dropped a few seconds later. When I called the 01925 number it was answered by a receptionist who informed me it could have been from anyone in the building and I should ignore it!!!!

I'm not (and never have been) a customer of Opal, TalkTalk or CPW nor would I want to be.
