Just had the same call. I let her ramble on through her speech (just to run up their phone bill!). At the end I said 'nothing free in this world - is it time-share?' She assured me it's not and I had to ring really quickly. Do I really look as if I've just floated down the river on a large leaf???

Just had this call claiming I'd filled in a questionnaire around 12-18 months ago, same patter as many others no here- so googled this 0800 no. Tempting as a 'free' holiday is, I'm quite sure that the cost to me in time spent getting to and then listening to a timeshare sales pitch isn't worth a week in some resort I probable won't even like.

I just received a call on my mobile phone from a number 01268 557600 telling me I had one a free holiday, which I could claim anytime in the next 18 months - free flights and hotel for 7 nights, for my wife and I. All I had to do was ring 0800 9889904 (they even told me to ring from a landline and not my mobile, to ensure I didn't get charged for the call.. how nice of them!).
Also, if I phoned within half an hour, I would receive an extra £50 worth of shopping vouchers, to buy clothes for my holiday!!

Complete invasion of my privacy and waste of my time.

I never complete surveys when people stop be in the High Street, so no idea how they got my mobile number - but nothing is for nothin in life and any idiot can see this is scam / marketing ploy to sell you something... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

I received a call from 01268 557600 on 13 May 08 at 7pm congratulating me for winning a free 7 night holiday all expenses paid.  They told me to call their head office to claim the prize on 0800 988 9904 and also to claim £50 of shopping vouchers.  No strings attached.  Fantastic!!  Erm.....no.  
My husband and I are very cynical about this kind of thing and we googled the 0800 number straight away and found this forum.  Seems our instincts are fairly spot on!!!

Got called on my mobile today from 01268557600. I knew it was some sort of scam straight away, as the rep said I was married living with my partner. A bit strange, since last time I checked I was single. Googled the number and here I am. God bless the net. I called the 0800 (0800 9889904) to see if I could waste some of their time by asking stupid and akward questions (as the call is free, but will cost them) but only got through to an answering machine.

Is there anything we can do to them from wasting other people's time?

I've had about 5 calls in the last week from these people and they're driving me mad! I tell them I'm not interested but they keep ringing.

Strange though when you call the number back it doesn't go through - it shows as number unobtainable!

Is there any way we can get these guys closed down? Surely it's illegal?

We got the same call as most of you, I am going to go check it out tomorrow as I want to buy GTA4 with the £50 voucher that they WILL give me. (I will cause such a scene if they try to get out of giving me it!) So as long as i get my voucher im happy, and if the resorts look nice then we maybe a free holiday too. Alot of the above comments say that it is a scam but at least 2 posters stated that they had received a free holiday. Im not that far from Haydock so it isnt really going to cost me much to check it out.

Hi well i used to work for club la costa in Essex. i think this piece of information will be of some use. Well the holiday is basically free what i mean is the holiday is for 4 people and there is a £29.50 booking charge per person so that is a holiday in a european country for 4 people for £120 not bad ah. and don't be fooled there is a presentation about TIMESHARE but you don't have to buy or rent any thing. and i surpose it is boring. and i am not sure but i also think you may have attend a meetin when you are over there.

Well when i was working there i was told i had to get the surveys out of the box phone the number go through the questions and then tell them bout the holiday the reason you get so many calls is because the work is just chucked back into a box and then some else picks it up and phones again. the only way to stop them calling is to ask for the survey to be destoryed and i was also told to pretend to have a computer to make it sound professional. but in reality there is no computer just a phone, pen and a pile of surveys. The people on the phone calling you are innocent people trying to make a living. I was sacked for being in hospital. i was in hospital and because i didn't phone to say i not coming in i was sacked. the managers and supervisiors are the most rudest people i have ever met. they are cosently on your case to get more bookings but if people thinks its a scam there is nothing you can do about it. basically one for your target your sacked

filled in the questionnaire in CHESTERFIELD 2 weeks ago, got the call today and stupidly rang 0800 988 9904. I was very nearly taken in as i basically believe people, a bit naive really! I'm glad i googled the phone number though.

has anyone actually been to these presentations, let me know what they are all about, we supposed to be going on friday, dont think we wil bother now

Thanks for the information they are still operating. I got a call today went straight on line and found your information. It brings to mind if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

I received a call from 01268557600 to say I had one a free holiday…. And I had to phone 08009889904 today, he said he was from Club la Costa  gave me my own reference number anyone is more than welcome to phone and use it! (6204RR)..... and as a special offer when I phoned I would receive £50 of vouchers…. Luckily for me I was at my PC and as he gave me the number to phone I Googled it and ended the conversation suggesting that he visited the (https://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number) website to see whether I would be responding to his call ……………....LOL he hung up on me!!!

Just received a call from Michelle at Club La Costa from a withheld number. googled the 0800 9889904 number given, out of interest as I wasn't going to call them anyway.  She knew my name even though we are ex-directory!  Didn't offer me £50 quid - what a swiz!

This is still going on. Got a call on 0800 988 9904 today. Definitely said "won" holiday and didn't mention any strings at all. Have complained to Opal Telecom who appear to have taken no action for over 6 months on this number.

Just had a call from these guys saying I'd won a holiday and to ring 08009889904 - same patter - same scam. My colleague thought it was for real but the cynic in me knew to Google before dialling! And of course it's a SCAM! Nothing for free....

This is interesting, because if this lot can't get you by phone , they'll send you a letter asking for you to ring this number . Nice stationery with photos inset of Jenny Bond. I wonder if she knows this outfit have her holiday snaps? The address for the company is Club La Costa , Dept CL23 , Telephone House , 4th Floor , Fenton Street , Lancaster , LA1 1AB
