Answered some questions whilst wairing to board aircraft in Alicante, got a phonecall today, won holiday for 4 people, if I claim it today by calling the 0800 number. So glad I visited this site, saved me time and hassle. Thanks.

My fiancee just received a call from these monkeys. I immediately knew what it was, having had a similar call a few years ago. These guys must really hate the internet: how difficult is it to do a search and debunk their scam? Takes a matter of seconds.

I really don't understand how they're still operating. The last time I was called (back in 2001!), they even promised me a free digital camera just for attending their presentation!

Unfortunately, I don't think they're technically doing anything illegal. When they're asked if it's a timeshare scheme, they deny it - I think it's a "holiday club", which is not *quite* the same thing.

You can apply for the Telephone Preference Service (http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ or just Google it), which is an Governmental opt-out mechanism for this type of marketing call (read "scam"). I am not sure if this also works for mobile phones, which is a pity; my fiancee received this call on her mobile.

There are also quite a lot of positive posts about this particular outfit. Easy to recognise: they all have appalling grammar/spelling/punctuation and all are clearly written by employees of the company. Please ignore them.

In summary: it's a scam. If you're really that interested in holiday schemes/timeshares, go ahead: but surely you'd be better off choosing one yourself rather than being scammed into one? Stay well away from this one.

I was collared by a survey girl @ Bristol Airport about a month ago, answered her questions and actually kept my ticket. It seemed to me that a survey being conducted at a national airport check in area must be approved and legitimate. Hmm. Anyway, I was actually quite thrilled to get the phone call saying I had won a free holiday and to ring 0800 9889904. I asked "is this a scam?" outright, "No, she said, but you're right to ask, they're a lot a scams around right now. You just won the draw." Good stuff I thought. God, I'm a gullible muppet.

I phoned the number, FREEFONE! Ace.  I said "I was told I had won a free holiday!" to which I was instantly corrected by a young telephonist that it was a "Promotional Holiday". Fair enough, words schmirds.

I was asked to commit to a date and time to collect my ticket in Bristol, which I did, and she popped details into the post for me to review, which I expect to get tomorrow.

Needless to say, I won't be going, and thanks to this. I'm really pleased that this hard sell is being exposed, and although I wish I was stronger to think I could sit through the presentation, stone faced, just say "No" over and over again, tak my ticket/voucher and go on the break. But I won't. I'll be made to feel bad for not buying and leave feeling like crap, and bushed.

So, again, just don't bother ringing the 0800 number. I've resigned myself now to the fact that I'm going to getting nuisance calls for the rest of my life.

I had a telephone call today from CLC Hotels saying that my husband had won a holiday for 4 following a survey he had completed in Palma Airport. I could remember him completing the survey so I thought it may be true.  WRONG!! She gave me the 0800 number together with a Reference Code to quote.  When I called I was told that because my husband was 62 years of age he didnt meet the criteria!!

stopped on the street during our local carnival. offered the chance to win a holiday to lapland. whoopee.  Then Guess what ?, I get a call from Some bint calling herself Sherell, telling me I'd won a holiday to either Spain, Portugal or The Canaries........ Nice.  all I have to do is call 0800 9889904, give them the reference number and claim the prize.  And, she assured me it wasn't a scam.  Do they really think people are that stupid.  Well done WHOCALLSME? for keeping people informed of such Lowlifes

We where approached at Palma airport on our way back from holiday. We were assured its nothing to do with a time share. We were then called and told we have won a holiday for 4 and to call 08009889904 to claim our prize, But thanks to your web site we did not go any further.

i had the same happen to me to. im registered with the lightspeed surveys. and got a call one day from 01268557600 sayin i won a holiday, and 2get my docouments sent out the same day, i had to ring 0800 988 9904 by 3pm, that day. me being gullible thought id won, so told my friends that theyv got a free hol next yr. soon after i just typed the number in2 google to see if they had a site, so i cud luk it up, and i found this website. thank u, thank u very much 4 lettin me b aware of this scam, and just hope that every1 has came up wit the idea we have. I've just had a call offering a free holiday in Europe for 4 people.  They said I had completed a survey which named my favorite holiday destination.  Then I remembered I was collared by a survey girl @ Bristol Airport about a month ago & answered her questions. They asked me to call a Freephone No immediately to claim my prize. He said he would call back in 1/2 hour to see how I got on. I asked for the Company name & was told it was CLC Resorts & Hotels.  Did 1471 & found the caller was on 01268 557600.  Did a Google & found all this info. Anyway, I will not be ringing 0800 9889904!

Just got a call from a woman informing me that we had one a holiday.  Seven nights in Spain, Portugal, Scotland or Cornwall, all expenses paid.
She said it was from filling in a survey about 18 months ago - which we obviously can't remember doing now.  She asked me if I was a home owner, living with a partner or married and between 26 - 62.  I said I couldn't remember filling in any surveys and she said it may have been a tick box on an invoice for electrical goods or something similar.  I said it sounded too good to be true and she said we were just extremely lucky and should be really happy.  Having checked the net before phoning the 0800 988 9904 number I can see other people have had similar calls too.  Needless to say I will not bother to ring the number.  Hope this helps others with similar experiences.

Wot a scam... do these people think we are stupid.. if they ring me again they will get the feedback whistle.. hold the handset to the speakerphone.

I dont often pick up the phone in my house...I normaly screen the calls by letting the answerphone get it. 0126857600 keeps hanging up...so searched for them online. Glad I did cos now I havnt wasted my time with the call. Also there relentless....they keep callign every half hour or so...idiots....glad I screen

Kept getting lots of calls from 01268 557600 but never leaving any voice messages. Today however after about 2 weeks of missed calls I answered the call and ''John from CLC Resorts'' told me that I had won a 1 week holiday for 4 people to either Spain, Tenerife or UK following a recent survey I completed on-line. He tried making small talk which I was not following thru as sounded suspicious to me as I had not had any letter, e/mail or voice messages, just constant calls from this company.....
Anyway he said congratulation bla,bla,bla and instructed me that I needed to call a freephone number to claim prize which I had 18 months to claim and added bonus was that if I done it by 3pm today I would get up to £50 in shopping vouchers aswell. He said that details will be posted onto me and asked I confirm  few details - was I a home owneer, aged between 25-60 and my address. I was still giving yes,no answers at this point as suspicious.
I said I didnt have a pen and paper to write details down and he said he would call back and leave a message on my v/mail. I did however ask ''whats the catch - what do I have to pay'' - he said ''nothing - you have won a prize following a survey''. When I had the chance later that day got home and checked internet as seemed to good to be true and found lots and lots of forums and write ups about this company known as CLC RESORTS inc the same telephone numbers they call you on as 01268557600 and the number you call to reclaim prize as 08009889904.
I can confirm that I have not called them, seems like a scam related to timeshares - you do get a holiday but have to pay towards it and its all about getting you sucked in after a big sales pitch given either in uk or at resorts.
Was told to call before 3pm, its 3:15pm now - It is a con, not worth the time to even call and listen to their ball.......

Just had exactly the same thing happen to me. The guy who called sounded very nice and very convincing, friendly and not too pushy, but I didn't believe a word of it. He could hear I didn't and assured me again and again with the freephone number ("if we weren't what we say we are why would we use a freephone number?") and the "winning" of the draw that I HAD won a holiday and it WAS definitely free, and the only cost to me would be feeding myself as it was self-catering - I even asked about timeshares, he admitted that the company he works for does have timeshares "you know like Thomson Holidays?" were his exact words - and then he said he'd call me back in half an hour to see that I'd got everything sorted, I told him I wasn't calling today I had too much to do,, anyways the long and the short of it is I googled the freephone number and found this forum,, I didn't believe him and only wanted to check out what I could about this scam. It bothers me that others who are more gullable or so very hopeful of a lucky break will be taken in. Does anybody know if this particular scam has been on Watchdog? Or any other  consumer advice programme? The bas*ards deserve a good smacking - even if it is only verbally!

Boy are these guys persistent. I missed their call earlier today and they have tried six times in the last hour. Having Googled the number (that led me here) I am grateful for the warning.

Perhaps I could answer?? Probably not though. Such a shame that these people try to rip off the comsumer with false promises. There is no such thing as "Free"!!

I also received a call today from CLC offering a luxury self-catering holiday. Ha ha ha - a cheeky clue was in the prize - luxury self-catering. I'll never know if this was real or not because I won't be bothering to go to pick up the 'winning' vouchers next week. Sorry CLC, but this is not an investment opportunity, and I won't be investing. For that reason, I'm out.

I have just received this phone call now, stating the same thing's as I have read in this forum, I completed a survey in Alicante airport about a month ago, they where able to quote the very basic information they received whilst I was at the gate queuing to board my flight.

Like others have said they rang about 2:50pm stating I must call before 3pm!

I said I have never won anything like this before and was there a catch, they replied, the only catch is you will have to use your own spending money!

I immediately googled the number they told me to contact,0800 988 9904, and came upon this forum. Needless to say, I won't be ringing them.

Just received a call from CLC stating I had won a European holiday for two and to call freephone no.0800 988 9904 urgently quoting reference number which the caller gave me. Googled the number and found this site, thanks, I was wary but nice to have it confirmed.

Got a call today and my wife was asked to call 0800 988 9904 with a ref. no. as we had really won first prize, a luxury European holiday.
You know what, I'll think I'll skip that and post here instead.

My husband received the call and was thinking about ringing it - I said I would google it first - everyone has helped when they said about presentation and timeshares!  Thank you much appreciated - we managed not to waste time!
