Also I just e-mailed them to complain and tell them not to call me any more. After filling in a form and writing the complaint I pressed continue, only to be told it could not be sent, apologies for any inconvenience. How do we get through to these people!

Received a call from this number today after ringing Vodafone yesterday to get my PAC code. The customer service guy said he was from Vodafone and wanted to confirm all sorts of personal details, such as address and d.o.b. I didnt confirm anything, but said i was happy to vodafone back and talk to that person to be absolutely sure they were from vodafone as i siad i was not in the habbit of given my personal details out to people that rang me. He said i couldnt call him and then tried to ask why i was leaving vodafone and offered me all sorts of deals, none of which were available a month ago when i tried to upgrade and that was why i left. I have moved to a new network provide so told him he`s wasting his time. Why dont vodafone focus on offering better service to existing customers rather than trying to claw back the ones they have already lost due to poor customer service.

I dont even know if this guy really was from vodafone, but i would advise others not to answer these calls or to confirm their personal details to them as they sound very dodgy.

Called by this number today (18 months after leaving Vodafone so they guessed incorrectly that I was due for renewal). It was silent for a while then some bloke started the usual spiel. My guess is that each operator has several numbers ringing at once and it takes them a while to realise someone has answered hence the silence.

I added a phone to the basket on their website just to see how much it would cost in total and now they keep ringing me! 4 times yesterday (during school so i cant answer it) and 3 times today. I finally answered it today and enquiring about the phone I nearly (but didn't want to) bought. I kept saying "im still looking" etc etc

Gahh they dont seem to take no for an answer. They were quite pleasant but don't let you get a word in!

Just in the process of leaving Vodafone. Received a pleasant enough letter from the retention team today however I've started to receive the calls.

I note that Vodafone do have the courtesy to have a signatory on the letter, a Mr Dave Walton, Director of Customer Services. I wonder what his views would be if he got (indirectly) bombarded with emails at www.vodafone.co.uk/emailus ..?

This number 08080000133 has called me quite a few times in the last couple of days and when I answer it they just hang up immediately. I just called the number back and someone answered in a high pitched voice (obviously taking the piss) saying 'hello, this is mayflower florists' I knew immediately that this was a joke. I was amazed however, on further investigation, to find out this is VODAFONE! How unprofessional! Like others I have recently requested the cancellation of my account. I was intending to switch over to pay-as-you-go with Vodafone but I think I'm just going to take my business elsewhere.

    Long Story –sorry!

My old phone was out of contract, and because I could get a better deal elsewhere I contacted Vodafone to see if you could improve on my existing contract.
I spoke to “#1” (I wont give names here) who offered me a price plan with 50% discount.
The bills arrived without the discount!
I spoke to “#2” in customer care centre who said she would get “#1” to call me back within 48 hours. No call!
I then tried the email route:-
First reply from “#3” who informed me there was no reference to the 50% discount.
Next reply from “#4” who told me they could only offer me 2 months half price line rental.”If you're still not happy, you can return the phone with the box to the nearest Vodafone Retail Store.”
So I then returned the phone.
Next reply from “#5”: “I understand from your email that you are not happy with the discount offered and so you have returned the handset.” A termination date was given for the contract.
I then requested the PAC by email and “#6” emailed to say that I would receive it within 5 days.
Before this arrived, I received a phone call from “#7”, who questioned why I was leaving and then offered me the initial deal again, that “#1” had offered. I agreed to this on condition that I received confirmation in writing to avoid the previous situation. He said he would get a letter out the next day and a phone would be delivered again.
No letter arrived, so I rejected delivery of the phone. A letter with PAC details did arrive.
I then phone again and spoke to “#8”. Who assured me that the 50% discount was being applied, but I still wanted confirmation. He told me that he would get “#7” to phone me within 24 hours and possibly send me an email, which would have been acceptable.
I received no phone call or email!
I tried one more time and spoke to “#9” and explained the situation, and that I was about to go on holiday. She said the phone could not be sent out again until it had passed through the returns department. In the meantime she would put me “out of obligation” back on the old contract.

Returning from holiday to find a letter “Thank you for revitalising your contract with us”. This appeared to put me on the contract I had initially rejected without discount!
I also received an invoice for delivery charge of £ 9.95 for the phone that I had not received.

Anyway, I think that is all sorted out now, and have changed to another provider with my number ported. But guess what…………………the 08080000133’s have started!!!!!!

Similar experience to many of you. Story is I phoned Vodafone on Wednesday to find out how to terminate my contract, got put through to some irritating guy trying to persuade me to stay on a worse deal that the one I had found at T Mobile.

First off I've worked in business for years and don't appreciate a patronising sell - he was threatening that if I didn't take the deal he was offering (which was not as good as the one I had found) then there were no guarantees that it would still be offered if I phoned back. What idiots! Their logic is they would threaten me into staying there and then, my logic is if you can't offer it again they sod yer I'm off.

Since then I have had 14 calls over the course of Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I never answer these as the number looked dodgy and I don't answer anything I don't recognise anyway.

Phone back and just get an automated "thank you for calling... this was a vodafone courtesy call..."

What a bunch of absolute muppets. I am now really, really annoyed that I am constantly getting these calls. If they want courtesy they should leave a message or text or email and stop annoying me by phoning as they will never get an answer.

For these reasons they have made my mind up to definitely leave vodafone and never return. If their behaviour had been different I may have been persuaded to stay.
