- adami got called by this lot today. thing is, they knew my name, i am on pay as you go and they said they wanted to see if i am satisfied with vodafone and see if they could save me some money. then they asked me for my pin, but they also knew that i first became a vodafone customer in 2001, he sounded indian or something...weird
- JOHad a call @ 6pm tonight, but was just going into hospital to see my dad, so put them to busy. Thought it might have been something to do with work, so tried calling it back.. but it said that i would be charged for my call. Therefore i hung up immediatly!!! If this was Vodafone offering special offers then why would it be on a premium rate number ?!?!?!!?
STRANGE !!! Glad this website exists !! - ScottJust had a call - how they know the details of my account i just don't know. I knew it was a scam immediately, but played along for as long as i could. Didn't give out any of my details, but they just lie bare-faced to you. Can't someone report this number and get the Police to make a visit? How on earth can they operate on this scale for so long and not get investigated....?
- mattjust missed the call so googled it, i will not be calling them back or answering next time..... scammers one and all
- Fostajust had the call from this number, called ahmed khan, asking for my personal details, i ignored the call and immediately hung up,
cant wait for them to call me again!!!! - RichJust had a call from this number. He stated the he was from Vodafone and that the call would be recorded for training purposes. Then asked me to confirm my passcode - I said no, I don't know who you are. He said, but I told you I am calling from Vodafone and then he told me what my handset was when I took out the contract so that proved he is from Vodafone. I didn't fall for it and simply said that he called me so I don't know whe he is and then hung up.
After seeing this site, I'm glad I was suspicious right from the start. - ryanHad a few calls and when I finally answered there was no answer then they hung up.
This is obviously an inside job from someone at Vodafone... This needs to be stopped asap!!! - JohnHad 3 calls from it and not picked up one!!!
Beware... If you are sensible you will understand this IS a scam... It's clear that the scammers are on this forum trying to get to you...
How the hell does someone on this forum know how much this company charges Vodafone to get customers better upgrades (load of bullsh*t). I'm with the above it seems to be only Vodafone and they can tell what phone you have. This is someone with access to a database. Inside job written all over it... THIS IS A SCAM!!!
Which sane person on this planet or outer space would come on here and support that this is not a scam!!!
Think before you act! Be Careful!!! - MiraHi, just had a missed call from this number. Thanks god I saw this page, so I'm not gonna answer it when they call again. I just upgrade my phone so maybe I could believe them if I'd answer it. Thanks x
- RobJust had the same number come up on my phone. I answered it and they hung up. Glad I googled the number.
I only upgraded 2 weeks ago so this should be fun if they call back.- Caller: No Idea
- Hep1I was at first suspicious about this number, but I rang vodafone and they said that it was just a courtesy call from themselves and that they call from a mobile handset. It does sound dodgy I must admit, but I'm trusting Vodafone.
- Emive had it twice in the last two days
- MightyHad a missed call from these too. Glad I checked here first - should be fun when they next call back!
Thanks all. - steve, liverpoolGot a call from this no. the other day and armed with the information from this page I was ready when then called again today.
They claim they are Vodafone themselves and have our information from when we registered our handsets.
Apparently, even though I am on pay-as-you-go I have an account and a tarrif they wanted to upgrade.
Just asked them to take me off their call list/database and not call me again to which they agreed.
Awaiting the next calll..... - BiG Pete BiddersYep, same here. Got 3 missed calls in as many days. Was obviously suspicious to start with, glad i checked on this website..!!
A big thankyou to you all..- Caller: ???
- NickWell finlly got this call after missing it first time and since googleing the number :)
when they called normal crap thas been said already although im not sure if i played him or if he played me with the false data, he ended the call saying he couldnt confirm who i was.
now to be honest when he asked what tarrif im on when it should be on his screen was a bit of a give away
although im wondering, can he use any of the info i gave him which is about 4years out of date or the wrong year of my birthday.- Caller: Fakedavone
- JamieMan these guys don't give up! Had a call everyday for the past week. They don't give up :(
- AlexI kept getting calls from -114 no long after I'd upgraded my phone. The caller claimed to be from Vodaphone and wanted to discuss upgrading my package and phone to the latest one. At the time I was on the highest contract and two weeks into my new contract (a company contract). They seemed a bit put out when I told them I was only 2 weeks in.
After that I kept getting "ghost" calls, which I found out to be from an auto-dialler (I think they are supposed to be illegal in the UK). After these calls I registered the number with the Telephone Preference Service.
After that, nothing for two years. Since cancelling the contract (not needed for work any more and have gone to O2) I have started getting these calls again. I called back and got a Vodaphone voice message saying that an operator had tried to give me a courtesy call and would call again another time.
After that I got a text from 253342000306 which made me suspicious as that's way too many digits. This text offered to move me to PAYT, something which the nice girlie in the Vodaphone shop actually said could not be done.
Glad I Googled it now before answering.
Thanks y'all. :-)- Caller: Vodaphone
- KarenI just had a call from this number he told me he was from Vodaphone and asked for my security password I said I wouldn't give it. Then he wanted my D.O.B and address and I said I wouldn't tell him anything. He thanked me and I hung up.
