Got a call and a recorded message from an undisclosed company selling wills, i selected a key which put me through to a lady. when i confronted the lady on who was calling and how they got my number all she said was she'd take me off the calling list and ten promptly hung up despite my asking her not to.

This number (and slightly different endings to it) ring twice a day, every day - uninvited

I get called by this number every few days at work. It's a recorded message starting "every year....". I usually hang up at that point. It's a complete waste of my time and having to stop work and answer the phone every time is costing me money. This should really be illegal.

cold calling from debt companies wanting to right off your debt!

Called this afternoon, with a request to press 5 for information on making a will.

Even if you are Ex-Directory, you can still be called due these sort of companies using something that just dials number after number and continue to catch people off guard. There are sure to be people out there who will fall for this, please make sure you alert anyone you can to make sure they listen to exactly what the message says and think seriously. If a company really wanted to do business with you, they would normally send something in the post. There is nothing that can be done about this apart from the victims making sure that they be careful.

Just got a call on our work number offering a will writing service.
The thing that concerns me (apart from this being inappropriate) is the 'press 9 prompt.

I didn't answer the call but phoned them back and a recorded voice advised me it was a sales and marketing call and to press 1 to be removed from thei list.

I get a call from these people on a frequent basis.  IT is an automated caller that begins with aline about dying without a will

Definitely considered to be a nuisance phone caller.

Called me at work today. Usual option 5 to talk and 9 to be removed. This thread is now  8 pages long and nobody has come forward from BT/Cable to explain how when or where these calls originate. It is my guess when they read these threads they rub their hands with glee and think up a few more numbers to shove on the auto dialer. Silent calls from any company are illegal. Why not complain to offcom. They would soon get fed up with repeated complaints

Everybody who posts messages about this and other numbers - help me stop them - or at least identify them  - ALL call Watchdog!  I am calling them - they will have the wherewithall to find who they are, and where.  Lets stop the creeps. If enough of us call, Watchdog BBC will surely take action.  There email address is on the BBC site.

Thank you for your complaint regarding recorded messages. Registration with The Telephone Preference Service (TPS) will help reduce receipt of live unsolicited direct marketing calls but will not stop pre- recorded calls.

Organisations that use recorded phone message to try and sell or promote their products or services have to comply with the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. These say that marketers who leave recorded phone messages must obtain prior consent from the subscriber before they can make such a call.

Where a subscriber receives a recorded phone message they haven't agreed to there may have been a breach of the regulations. If you are receiving recorded messages and have not given prior permission, you can complain directly to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), who are the body responsible for enforcing the above regulation. Just phoned my work number in Carlisle.

Just called the landline - recorded message talking about wills! I decided to leave the call going whilst I finished playing Beethoven's Appasionata (3rd movement) on Piano - hope they enjoyed listening if any human did eventually get on the other end!

t's a will scamming company calling busines numbers.  The woman I spoke to to ask to be removed was rude and obstructive and just hung up, SCAMMING B'Stards!
