Hey elroonio! I know - I say it all the time to my sister-in-law in Canada! It was obviously a scare tactic on the part of TAPA - probably Chris Irvine. (I don't mind naming them now they have published my name and address!) I think they thought I would panic, have the post removed and keep quiet for a while. Why? Because my Trading Standards have contacted TAPA directly and more or less told them that I DID have cancellation rights under the Distance Selling Regulations. And of course, if I have rights, so does everyone else who cancelled after they received the printed packs. I really don't need to post any more now that my case is sorted, but if anybody else falls victim to the same situation, I may be able to point them in the right direction - TAPA won't like that.

That is very interesting! Just off to find my calculator, a pen and a piece of paper. Also going to check if the number on my 'welcome pack' matches the one on the website. Thanks!

Lizzie if you got definite confirmation from TS on this in any written form it would be great if you could publish it on on the MSE site.
As to Chris Irvine that won't even be his real name anyway. They even have the front to say on their site that they use false names to protect themselves!!! and a real joke that is. There is a vague chance that P  Medhurst and A Carthy  may actually exist (names on the certificate you get) but wouldn't bet on it. well done Lizzie

It has disappeared within the last about 2 hours. There last time I looked.

You're right. I've used the 'contact us' facility and asked if and why posts have been removed. Do you think we're getting too close for comfort? Can't imagine though that whocallsme would agree to remove posts that were definitely NOT abusive, defamatory or even untrue! As far as I remember they were all statements of facts.

I have records of all the pages up to page 22 as of a few hours ago and things seem to have disappeared pretty much at random. strange

I did not know about them publishing your personal details or directing threatening behaviour towards you.I did not get to see those posts and I did think you were coming across a tad paranoid, now I know I was wrong I hope you accept my apology. And I also hope the police catch up with who-ever was behind it. I do have time for other people,especially when they are being victimised or scammed, and now I stand corrected I admire what you are doing. Its no excuse but I had a bad day, looked on this site to see if TAPA were laying off the bullyboy tactics and the rest is history. I have to say and I am not defending TAPA, I still have not heard from them and I honestly don't expect to. Good luck in gettin your matter resolved!!!!!!!

Yes Nan It was me!!!!!!!!!! I have apologised to Lizzie because I did not know about threats ect.... @ Nan,Why would I be bothered about TAPA denying the receipt of my cancellation letter when I don't believe them to be a legitimate company!? As do most people on this site! I am lucky, to date I still have had no communication with them and I don't expect to! If they were legit I would have been bombarded with postal mail and e-mails. I am not the only one guilty of not reading posts properly? All I can say is anyone with the misfortune of having dealings with this sham company can be caught up in all the hype. And I understand why you were annoyed when you read my post to Lizzie.

If we see that the discussion is being manipulated - users posts under different nicknames- we remove the posts of that user. If the posts had replies, the replies get removed as well. That is why you might see pages disappearing.

We do not remove posts because of "our comfort level", and we do not take sides. Our goal is to have reliable and informative website, and sometimes we have to do a clean up. I am sorry that some of your messages have disappeared.
