Report a phone call from 08443573311 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- phil142 replies to NanYes I get that impression as well. I think that my enquiry got passed on to the local TS by CD.
- abster replies to LizzieMHope all goes smoothly for you next week and thank you for the info.
- LizzieMBack to hospital now floks - don't know how long for, so I'll lose this thread. The wifi system there won't let me on - says it contains a banned phrase!! (TAPA a banned phrase perhaps). If there's anything interesting Phil will let me know - or I can get on the site for Satlite - the number is 08442490999. I'll def keep in touch - takes my mind off other things!! Will catch up next time I'm home. Keep up the good work!!!
- LizzieMGod, if I could spell, I'd be dangerous!
- abster| 8 repliesThere is an upheld complaint about TAPA on the Advertising Standards Authority website, dated today.
Its in the Adjudications bit.
Although they can't do anything about the underhand tactics used after TAPA 'get' your details, its at least something. (Assuming that they do make the payments section on their website clearer and not just move it around).
Someone still continues to phone me a few times daily and I still don't answer. Their persistence is astonishing.- Caller: TAPA
- phil142 replies to abster| 7 repliesthanks Abster for the info about the ASA site. I will have a look. I wonder why they are being so persistent with you. I have nothing since early November.
- Bill replies to phil142| 6 repliesAbster. maybe it's not them ringing. have they left messages? do you have TPS or you can always have anonymous call blocking as I do

- AmybThank you all for this forum. I was tricked by a 'chariy' in Manchester to buy advertising space in a managazine. I have paid them but will not any more as found out its a scam. Then I had a call from TAPA who asked me to call back. They said they new I was invloved in a scam and they could help. I put their number in google and foudn this site - thank god. He called me again and I refused to take the call. They haven't bothered since. I believe the scammers that call people selling fake advertising, then pass on our details to TAPA so it is a win win situation. To the man that wrote he had received 2 invoices for advertising space he never ordererd and they have a recording - do not pay. Ask them to email you the full recoring. They wont do it because they edit the one they play down the phone. Ignore there calls until you receive the recording, then threaten them you know they are a scam and will be reporting to them.
Thansk again all for this site.- Caller: tapa
- Call type: Debt collector
- AmybAnd sorry about my spelling, write this in a rush as at work!
- abster replies to Bill| 3 repliesYes, I suspect you are right and it is another section of the scammy underworld that is ringing me now - I do have the number withheld thingy on my phone but they just get around that by ringing from a number that is clearly not a legit business one. They never leave messages so I assume they come from a machine set to annoy me (and others). The first scam (fake advertising) I fell for are now hotting up their efforts so I am repeating all my anti-TAPA coping strategies with them and ignoring every effort to 'get' me but it is very tiresome.
- LizzieM replies to abster| 1 replyDon't let them grind you down abster - they'll be reading this site and thinking they're still getting to you. I think you're doing a brilliant job here - can you get a sort of toy duck and set it to quack when it answers the phone - that would be hysterical!!
Does anyone else think that the ASA judgement against TAPA means that anybody who was involved with them before that is now well and truly off the hook? That's the assumption I would make. - phil142 replies to absterabster: I guess that TAPA may have told them to hassle you because you haven't paid up.
- phil142 replies to LizzieMi hope so though the ASA statement doesn't cover the issue of distance selling/the 7 day rule re. cancelllation after seeing the contract in writing.
- Lucid replies to Mike;D That statement has really has really made my day! Tapa you loose! It's what we have been trying to tell them all along they are misleading and should not conduct their business that way. At last it's official! A total breach of the advertising standards that most legitimate companies follow. I think that any claim to any mislead consumer really would not ever stand up in court now! Well done to all who have called TS etc looks like TAPAS dodgy trading days are over! :D
- LucidHa ha just clicked the link they have on their site to Facebook funny how they have no members or likes to their page....
- Lucid
- Lucid| 6 repliesShouldn't some one post the ASA thing on MSE? Kind of justifies the thread that was binned!
- LizzieM replies to Lucid| 5 repliesJust done it Lucid! Its good to know that what we've been saying all along has been officially acknowledged. Abster - I think you should keep recordings of the calls and go to the police. Plus BT should change your phone number for free with this kind of harrassment. Its worth a try.
- Bill replies to LizzieMWell done Lizzie. Have been asking MSE to reinstate the old thread
Getter better soon
