They keep calling.. have had calls at all hours of the day and night but normally at about 20:30
They have been at it for months.. and then they mysteriously stopped.. but had 3 yesterday and just had another attempt now (3pm)

Getting to be an expert on recognising these junk callers so if I actually get to speak with someone I always say - There's no-one of that name lives here - which flummoxes them completely.  I've never yet had a repeat call.  Trouble is there's an unstoppable tidal wave of the b.....s.  Get rid of one and another job lot appear.  Keep hoping this credit crunch will hit them and leave us all in peace.

I have had this number calling me on home phone, but i dont pick up, but my Fiancee pick up phone yesterday and the person asked for me, she said it was Halifax, and was going to phone back, but heard nothing yet.

Are you guys on TPS? I've had a few silent calls from them, but if I do get to speak to anyone, I'll just take their name, number, address and then ask them if they adhere to TPS? Then make a complaint on-line. It has always worked for me.

One suggestion is if you get to speak to someone and they do not treat you with respect and take you off their list, keep a whistle by your phone. take a deep breath, and blow the whistle as loudly and for as long as you can! Whistles are very effective in training dogs!

Had this number call everyday when at work, never leave a message, then today I answered the phone said hello and got a hello then they hung up.

Whats the point!

Eventually answered and got a cheeky guy on the other end of the line asking for my partner (by his full name.)  He said he was calling on behalf of Halifax and that "it was nothing important."  I wonder why they have have been calling and continue to call three times a day if it's not urgent.  He ended the call "Cheers love!"  Nice!

OMG - how annoying are these phone calls!!!  They repeatedly call, but no-one speaks to you.  Now I don't know whether to answer the phone or not!!  They call at all hours of the day and night.  Wish I could stop them!!!!

If you get this please fill out this form to complain to the Information Commissioner.  They will be able to investigate and hopefully stop these malicious marketing calls.

I just received a call from this number - very noisy background noice (obviously a call centre).  They asked for me by my full name which I confirmed and then the line went dead (as per the comments here which indicate that the caller appears to hang up).

If I needed insurance cover, I'd go look for it.  It's hardly a spontaneous purchase item now is it?

I have had two calls from this number today - they hang up each time I answer!

got a call from this company about an hour ago asking specifically for my dad, when he went to answer they hung up even though we blocked our number from receiving nuisance calls like this

This number calls me at least a couple times a day.  I don't think I've ever answered it, but I wonder how many times they try before they stop!  It's really annoying!  After reading this page I'm afraid to answer it or they will just keep calling.

Have missed about 10 calls from this number over the last few days.  I do not answer unidentified numbers so will nto be picking up and as they leave no voicemail I guess its not important.  Keen to know who it is though.

I have been getting lots of calls and as soon as I answer they hang up - WHYYY??? Does the caller have to ring so many numbers per day just to keep their boss happy but is caller actually too lazy to follow through on the call!!!!????

I have recieved about four calls this morning from this company, I have caller ID and never answer calls from numbers I don't know, I decided to phone it back and it says it's FirstAssist on behalf of the Halifax and that it is nothing important, I then googled it and got this website and all I can say is a big thank you for everyone's comments, I'll be avoiding this number.

These are such a pain = i am getting calls from this number at least twice daily. some as early as 7am and as late as 9.30pm, how do we stop them

This number is driving me crazy. Everytime i see it flashing on my call screen i want to insert my finger into my own and swirl it all around! Leave me alone first assist! Or at least speak to me in a language i can understand when you call. Christ on a freaking bike!

Just received call from person claiming to be from First Assist, part of Halifax. Trying to sell personal accident insurance. Told her I wasn't interested and she kept asking why. I told her 'No thank you' and put the phone down. Hopefully that's the end of it!
