Got a call, said they were part of a Government Scheme. Also said they were bound by the Data Protection Act. Both obvious lies. If you can spare some time say, whilst you are watching telly, you could spin out their call without paying any attention to them and they would have to pay the call cost. If everybody does this to some extent it would be econimically unfeasible for them to continue - that's my theory anyway! Also, give them misleading information but of course don't tell them anything useful about yourself.

Just had them on the phone again, this is the 12th call in 24 hours. I am seriously fed up.
Has asked to speak to my mum and dad on separate occasions.
This last call has been the most abusive I've had so far.
Apparently I am a stuck up B**ch, and been told to "put your f**king mother on"
I let rip back and got hung up on.
This really has to stop.

This phone number has been ringing me for about 4 days, and each time i have told them. that for starters we are not interested and that we are on a debt management plan with the CCCS. they said that they can do a better service. yeh right after reading the comments above !!!!!!!!!! I wish that they would leave me alone. I have asked them on all occasions to remove my number from there list. obviously they dont listen to the people they are ringing.

I have recived alot of calls in the past from this number and was getting really stressed out about it as like a lot of others I have no debt duley to the fact that I work hard to stop this happening . How ever the calls have started again dispite being registered on TPS. It is realy a pain in the back side as they make the calls at all hours and I have four young children who when asleep dont take to kindley at being woken by some half wit trying to pass somthing on to me that I quite clearly dont need what more can I do to stop these idots/ morrons.

also registered on TPS and my phone number is ex-directory and never given out apart from to friends & relatives. I am really annoyed and would love to know how these people have got my number.

These people keep calling me. I have told them I will report them to Trading Standards. They are still not put off. I am so fed up with these people. Asked where they got my number, received no answer. Somebody please get these people off the telephone system.

Same as all of these.  Some Indian people over four days asking for a woman who doesn't live here and I told them I am not her and I have lived here for four years.  THEN, they say they need to talk to the occupant.  As a person who has no time for cold callers and canvassers at all, I tell them, I do not know you, I am NOT the person you are asking for, and I have NO debts. Go away.  Last one was a few minutes ago, and I told her, I am going to ring the police or get your number banned if you do not stop ringing, and hung up on her. I am going to report them to all the people you have all advised me to report them to, and next time they ring I am going to say hold the line please I have to answer the door and I will let them run up a phone bill while I ignore the phone completely.  lol.

After contacting the various people to complain to and being put on hold forever, I gave up and rang VirginMedia.  They informed me they cannot ban numbers or take any action and advised me to go here - http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/ to register with them.  They are the Telephone Preference Service.  I completed a complaint as I was already registered with them.  As I type this, I have an Indian lady on the telephone, being brilliantly kept on hold and ignored by me. It has now been 15 minutes. :P

basically  the same as these poor people above though after speaking  to me my dear wife answered a call from them, i was staggered  when she was called  a big liar after saying  we have no debts ... these idiots should be traced and stopped, they are rude and not professional  in any way.

i have just typed this number into google and came across this page i too have just recieved 4 calls from this number but they hung up straight away, so i co the uldnt even talk to them, it is a nuissance and very annoying that the phone keeps ringing when you are trying to get jobs done.

Been receiving from the same number (in the last 15minutes had 3 calls) tried calling back to no avail.
Just had the last one and its to consolidate your debts (don't have any to do this?) asked them to remove my number from their list so waiting now to see if it stops (also they are only interested in home owners not council?)
Tried talking to my phone company to put a nusiance thing in but because they are NOT selling anything can't stop them, all they will do is log the number but this doesn't stop the calls

I've been getting inundated with calls from these people but all mine have been pre-recorded messages which is even more annoying as it then clogs up my answer service when I'm not home and therefore no one else can leave me messages. I get these calls several times a week and I'm supposed to be on the TPS system. It's so frustrating. How do we stop this from happening??

its a u.s. bank employee selling your info to a company in mumbia, and before you say you dont bank with an american bank think again and google youre credit cards, these f@ckers even told me what my mothers maiden name was,thank [***] i have always made up these details

This number has just called me and he knew my name which is very concerning. I googled the number and found this website but would like to know how they knew my name and where that info has come from. Im very careful as to keep my details very private.

I too am on TPS. I have received several calls from this number alone. Although being captured by my phone I had no idea who it was as there was no message left. Today was the first one I was able to answer.

Foreign sounding chappie identified the company as Crystal Debt Advisory. Would appear to be some distance away as he was continually shouting over the line.

Correct procedure when contacting someone should initially be a letter of introduction indicating their reason for contacting. This should include reference to which company sold you out and the particulars of the debt.

Even I could pick up a phonebook pick someone at random and give them a call. The information in the phonebook gives name and address. The rest can be obtained by chatting with the 'victim'. GOLDEN RULE: If you don't know the company name don't talk to them until they provide you with more details.

We keep getting calls from these people (upwards of 10 calls now), despite advising them that we have no outstanding debts and to remove us from their list..... which they have obviously refused to do....????

if you have caller display-simply do not answer otherwise get BT choose to refuse free for 30 days usually enough to deter persistent callers and of course do the  ofcom report............simple:

DEBT COLLECTORS

Have been called five times today, last call before lunch when i said I'd report them to the FSA after looking on this site. Just got out of hospital after being in intensive care, steroids and pain killers can leave you a little dull headed. They got more info than they should have. I've now sent a story to watch dog. They have also cold called from the same numbers and left no messages. They are saying they are part of a government scheme to clear debt, they don't identify themselves properly and give no evidence of who they are, now web address, return number etc.

Constant calls from this number are really getting me down, I only told them yesterday at about 5pm to stop calling me and they rang again today at 11.45am! They have given me all the speel about being sponsored by the government to write off all my debts (which I do not have!), and when I enquired how they had obtained my number they sais it had been given to them by the government. Although registered with the TPS they do not seem to be able to take any action, and when I spoke to my telephone provider they could only suggest that I change my phone number. So if anyone has any ideas as to how they can be stopped please, please let me know!
