3 calls from this number in the last hour....hung up all 3 times.  I've got better things to do than to run to the phone every time these plonkers ring me for no reason!

Had a call last night from some Indian guy insisting he knew I had debts and if not me then my husband. He didnt seem to know my name or be able to tell me why he thought I am married. Told me it was government funded. Hadn't got a clue what the TPS was. Asked me if he had the right post code, he didn't and I obviously didnt elaborate so he hung up. How do you bar calls?

Had this for months, stopped a bit over Christmas but back in force in the last couple of days.

Rang 6 times in the last 2 hours, one time hanging up and then ringing back 10 seconds later shielding their number under 'INTERNATIONAL' - though that time they reckoned they were from some TV company and asked if my TV was working OK...

This company NEVER stop - I have complained to TPS so many times and yet they still call (always asking for a person called partridge who doesnt exist)

I have told them to *&^% off so many times they are driging me bloody MAD!!!!!!!! And the TPS never do anything - They have never done anything about any complaint ive ever made so they are a waste of time.

Its been well over a year ive been put through this crap - I have no debt - I told them this but they still friggin call and harrasss me

Had a call today foreign bloke said something about British Government so did as I normally do with these sort of calls pressed handheld panick alarm in mouthpiece of phone should clear his eardrums and normally prevents repeat call

I have just received another call from Crystal Debt advisory, this happens daily.  I am absolutely sick to death with these people. like the people above, i do not have any debt and i am listed with the TPS so how the hell is this company getting our numbers?? My husband works nights and believe me when our phone has been accidently left plugged in and he's woken by such companies as these, he's certainly not nice to the caller and gives 'em some language, even this has not deterred this company at all.  Please if anyone has any further advice to get rid, lets hear it.

This company keep calling my parents and asking for my brother Adam.  Adam was tragically killed in November 2007, however, these stupid people, who can not understand a word of English continually call asking for Adam - much to my mums horror!!  The one chap even told my mum that everything would be ok - he could sort things out for us!!!!!!!!!!

I have today threatened them with legal action should they call my parents number again!!!

I refused to confirm my name to this guy in a foreign country until he told me who was calling which he would not do so he hung up and daid he would call back this evening which will be the second night in succession that I have had several calls from this number and they hang up most of the time! I have recalled the number and no one answers. This is harassment and is a crime under The Offences Against The Person Act 1861. Unwanted calls, nuisance and silent calls all constitute an assault.

Crystal Debt advisory are operating under several names and several phone numbers (be aware of this!) I do not know if their business is legal but the way they operate most certainly isn't. My response to these bullying scum and other telesales [***] was to purchase trucall device which fits on your phone. You then have complete control over who gets through to you. £60 from amazon. Sounds expensive but in the long run well worth it.

I am the senior partner of CRYSTAL CLEAR DEBT SOLUTIONS (based in Leeds) and have been alarmed to read all of these posts! I have never heard of Crystal Debt Advisory and we are in no way connected with them. Whilst we provide debt advice and also financial advise generally, we certainly do not 'cold call' anybody once never mind several times and have never done so. I recently received a letter addressed to Crystal Debt Advisory but at our address (apparently the Information Commissioner's Office have provided our address to the Lady who was also receiving calls) asking for her details to be removed from the database. I have spoken with the Lady concerned and she was very understanding of our position but obviously I do not want our business to be seen to be connected to Crystal Debt Advisory. I intend to contact the Information Commissioner's Office for guidance (and to inform them of what has happened) but wondered if anyone can tell me what we should do. If the Information Commissioner's Office can get us confused then anyone can. I have considered changing our business name but do not really want to do so for obvious reasons. I have called the number (0844 846 6519) but it rings as though it has been disconnected. Does anyone have any alternative numbers? Thank you very much.

LionTel call themselves various names including Debt Advice Bureau, Crystal Debt Advice and the latest one is Galaxy Debt advice. They use various phone numbers, the latest one to call me is 0844 8466524, previously it has been 0161 2412080.

I gave the Indian Call centre false details (apart from my real phone number) a few months ago in an attempt to get put through the UK company and be able to trace it back. I was called directly a few days ago by Capital Finance in Leicester who used this false information. When pushed they told me they have an Indian call centre. I'd previously been assured by Capital that I'd been removed from their database, and they denied any knowledge of the cold calls from India.

Identity theft scam by the Pakistani's is more like it.

First time here, but really worried me.  Fortunately I'm not weak willed and responded firmly.  The refused to say where they got the information except that it was a UK government department.  I don't think so! I have a specific debt, through my bank at a very reasonable rate, have an interest free purchase not due until next year, and no other outgoings.  We are in TPS, and although the chap said he was calling from India he did say they have a bade in England.

Is this a phishing scam to get my personal and banking details?  Or just a very offensive sales technique?  Who in the higher echelons of authority can put a stop to this?  Why hasn't it been done by now, seeing the length of time there've been messages about it?

Churchwood Finance are the company behind Crystal Debt Advisory 0844 846 6519 and 0161 241 2080 which cold call claiming to solve your debts through an IVA etc. for a 20% fee. Do not give them any information. Not even your name when answering. They are a pest and will call you anytime day or night (really! oh yes they will ).  If you are on the TPS report them to the ICO it will make a difference, In fact if you have no debts at all they still will try to sell you help with an IVA. They can be very rude and even use foul language at you if are not 'cooperative' with them as reported in many other complaints. Avoid Churchwood Finance and associated companies like the plague. You have been warned. Use a debt charity such as www.stepchange.org

To update this info' CRYSTAL CLEAR DEBT SOLUTIONS  NEVER COLD CALL  EVER!' We have no connection to any telephone number here, we have no connection with ANY call centre Indian or otherwise. We are based in Southampton as 'Formprep Ltd' and were formerly IVA Debtline until a change of ownership in Dec 2012. To trade in the debt industry a license must be held by the office of fair trading, all trading names MUST be registered on that licence. We are licence no 0637107 which may be examined on the OFT website.   We offer specialist debt solutions and  We are the only legal debt trading company of that name as the OFT do not grant multiple companies the same name. Therefore I have to assume that the Leeds company no longer trade or are unlicensed.
