Check your TPS contract and you'll find that they do not stop all calls.

Industry regulations are set to ensure actions such as excluded numbers are prosessed however 5 calls in one day is it not true. The systems Insure 4 Retirement have in place would not allow for this to happen, not to mention it is against regulation.

How do you know they called 5 times? 1471 only holds the last missed number and the company are not able to leave answer machine messages. If by chance you managed to 1471 each call why ignore the calls only to answer the 5th?

And you must be aged around 12years, right?

You'll find that regulations mean that the company will be identified once it is confirmed that the correct person has answered the phone.

Acting a pratt doesn't give you the upper hand just simply makes you yet another number in the statistics of rude and arrogant people.

As a call centre advisor I have found that there are many people that are so rude, they receive a call from an unrecognised number answer and immediately respond in a rude manner. How on Earth does the receiver not know that the caller isn't from the hospital informing of a potential serious situation or someone calling with important information? They never would because by this time they have already hung up possibly even sworn or in your case answer the phone and babble rudely down the phone to gain 'the upper hand'.

call centres are a regulated industry with hefty penalties so if you do not want to be contacted again by such a company be polite and tell the caller that you do not wish to receive the calls and to please remove your details from their database. Failing to comply with these instructions is against the regulations therefore can incur a penalty.

Read the terms and conditions of the comparison websites prior to completing the World Wide Web with ALL your personal information!

You'll discover that your information can be shared with 3rd parties and by completing a quote the top 3 best prices will call you to ensure the quote provided is adequate and exactly what you require. Just remember these guys have been professionally trained and spend all day everyday dealing with home insurance (Not to mention the call will be recorded meaning if there is a problem in the future IE a claim, the advisor would have confirmed cover on a recorded telephone call).
Also the comparison websies may not offer the very best price and cover, further discounts may be available over the phone.

Your home insurance due for renewal but your interested?

What is it you're not interested in?
You wouldn't be interested to see if you could save some money?

Do you use a comparison website to check your home insurance is a good price?  If yes then you clearly are interested.

If you don't have a look around to ensure you're getting a good deal for your home insurance you've used the same company throughout your insured time (If not then you were obviously interested in getting the best deal last time you changed companies so why not now?) which means you'll be more likely to be paying more than what may be available elsewhere. Perhaps there is extra cover to be added that offers better value for money?

The biggest problem that people face who have remained insured with the same company consecutively for a number of years or that have used internet to complete their insurance needs have been caught out under insured!

They call you so it's not going to cost you anything more than 10 minutes of your time!

Who knows thos morons could have been offering you the best deal available for your home insurance needs!

I had call from insurance call centre today at my office. When the girl mentioned it was an insurance brokers office they hung up! no time to ask them to delete from the list!

As a matter of interest 'compare the market' in their terms and conditions (which if you dont agree they simply say 'dont use us') ask the two cheapest companies to contact you and also you agree they can send your details to their over 200 'trusted sites' including motor, home and life insurance, finance products and utilities. No doubt these 'trusted sites' pass you to others so once on the net you are fair game!

They do give you the option to have your name removed from their data base but you have to request it by letter which will take two days to arrive by which time pandora's box is opened.

They do NOT give Insurance advice so if you dont want nuisance calls dont get internet quotes!! Use a flesh and blood local Broker and stop being pestered. They are professionals, know your area and you can sit down and talk to them

This company rung me today claiming to be Insurance for Retirement. Asked for a name I gave which was mis-heard. I said what's happening because someone keeps ringing me on this number throughout the year, trying for PPI and Market Surveys and Claims. They all asked for the name I have given this company. Told the person on the other end (who said point taking it out on him-he should heard me when I'm not being calm) that someone within their company has been passing on my details then. He flatly denied this, claimed they were a very specific company who targeted low risk people (ha!) So told him to tell his supervisor that someone in the company must be passing on details. He refused. Said he would remove my details from their system.
If this is a real company then they have been passing on information- there's no-where else that has got that name. The fact they won't even pass on the concern doesn't do them any good in my eye.

"James", with a Midwest US accent  just called me to discuss  my home insurance as their records show it is due next month and they would like to to qoute me for all my insurance needs.

This makes a change from my voicemail calls and direct calls from "Ambrose Wilson"

1471 said caller ID was 0845 0451 530. I asked for their phone number and was given 0800 2988 707.

Clearly they or their management are buying lists of data and cold calling as my home insurance is not due next month.

James seems quite polite at an introductory level, but frustrated that I would not confirm who I was or offer the opportunity to qoute foe any insurance needs. However, calls from these people are now getting a persistent pain, so I need to block them.

Ring the number back. A recorded message tells you that they will ring you back, but it is easy to remove your number from their database and stop all future calls. Just listen to the full message. I think it's option 2 then option 1. There is a long delay after pressing button 2 for option 2. I would guess this is so  you will think your request has been actioned. You need to wait about 30 seconds after pressing button 1, then you get the message "If the number you are ringing from is the one you want to remove, press 1". Press 1 and it's done within 2 hours.

Sorry, I meant to say you need to wait about 30 seconds after pressing button 2, not button 1.

It was said by someone from the regulator after the recent victory in the Small Claims Court that ticking a box to allow passing information to unnamed Third Parties does not authorise those Third Parties to make junk calls to you.  They have to get specific permission from you and if not then they are breaking the law.
