I'm so fed up with answering the telephone just to find another sales call.It is even more annoying when they just hang up after one or two awkward questions, ( Nationwide Energy Services take note)! Now I just pick up the telephone, count to two and then end the call, I think of it as getting a little satisfaction back and hopefully it costs them something for the call!

"Government Grant Advisor" calling re entitlements at 9pm and asked to speak to me. I asked for his company name and he repeated  "Government Grant Advisor" Asked if he'd heard of TPS and he said yes, but they were calling because no-one was in during the day. I asked if they were a UK company and he said yes. I asked if he understood what the TPS was about and he said he was very sorry if he'd disturbed me. I asked again for the company name  and he hung up, 1471 disclosed the number.

So I rang 0800 633 5769 (with no caller ID) and pressed 1 to speak to an advisor. Apparently there's no one there after 7pm, so I pressed 1 again and entered my phone number as 08451113111

TPS is a waste of space if it can't prevent abuse like this.

They called telling me I could claim back my protection insurance as I had a credit card loan..they asked my name and I said who is cvslling and what is it about? DO NOT give them the time of day do not confirm your name do not give  them any details....I have never had a credit card loan so have never had protection insurance. They are after details!

Regular calls from this number to our NHS hospital appointments line. Everytime they call us they hang up. Big nuisance

Started getting cals from this number this morning - 4 already in an hour but no-one there when I answer.  I am TPS registered so why am I getting these - is ther any point on being TPS registered I wonder as there seems to have been no let up in the amount of calls and variety of numbers they come from!!

This number keeps ringing and hanging up.  I tried to call it back and the call went straight in to hold music without even ringing.  The third time I tried it rang forever and no one picked up.  Extremely annoying as I have just come out of hospital and takes me longer to get to the phone.

Got a call today from this number and they claimed to work for the government offering people insulation grants. We are with TPS so should not receive unsolicited calls.

This company trys to gain access by stating they are calling on behalf of goverment insulation grants ???

I do not believe the government would call me personally and as I am registered with TPS cannot understand why this firm is cold calling??? I thought this practice had now be outlawed?

Second time they caught me. I thought I'd dealt with the rather aggressive woman last time but a man called this evening. Nationwide Energy was the name of the company. Also claimed he was ringing on behalf of the council so I will be reporting the call to them and Trading Standards. I told him I was registered on TPS and that I would be reporting the company to the Information Commissioner and never to call again but he was still going on when I slammed the 'phone down

i received a call from this number and i wouldn't answer as i'm sick of these parasites trying scams like this.TPS service doesn't help though as i still receive so many scam callf from other organisations (if you can call them that)

I received a call form this number and it was silent. After dialling 1471, I did not call it up to see what they wanted, but instead went to this website first. I'm glad I did, as I am sure I would have been charged for calling them.

Phone call from this number - no message left - am assuming from other comments it's yet another cold call...

Three calls from these pests this week, lucky enough to have missed them all!

We answered a call from this number earlier in the week and - taken unawares - nearly agreed to them sending a surveyor round, but they wanted to send someone that same day and we couldn't make arrangements until later in the week, so they hung up.

I've received three calls from this number today and each time I answer they hang up. Decided to google the number to check it out further, and found this thread.

told her there is no such thing and to get another job that will leave her with a clear conscience and put phone down.  Followed by silent call a second or two later.

But I see by googlilng that there are many job vacancies for "government grant advisors" - All in Wales.  Is this where this particular firm is that employs people to ring up saying they can get a grant for you etc if you employ them?  Why is this annoying scam not illegal?
