I am doing a search after a cold call we received,  from 08451113111

Our phone number is with Virgin Media (Previously NTL world), when we got this number 13 years ago it had been used by NTL for another customer at a entirely different address 2 miles away from us.

For the past 13 years we have received telesales calls 1 or 2 a month always asking for the previous owner of the number

Yesterdays call was from www.nesuk.com 1471 gave the number as 08451113111, when  I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was put through to Carl Wheatley

I explained to Carl Wheatley that as we have had this number for 13 years, and as the caller asked for the previous owner of the number by name, and we have been telephone preference service registered for 6 years they must me using out of date lists.

Carl Wheatley was very pleasant and tried to explain this off a a one of slip.  But as your telephone   number is a unique identifier it is impossible for numbers to get through onto a cleansed list.

A google on the folk involved in this company shows Neville Wilshire http://company-director-check.co.uk/director/908482730 who would appear to have a multitude of cold calling companies.  A google on the companies names and phone numbers shows dozens of complaints about telephone preference service numbers being phoned.

Phoned me saying they were orchid photography studios london, but when i 1471'd them, they had a different number from the orchid site. Also they told me the deposit for the day cost £1 per person which i thought was odd, as i seem to win these studio days often (NOT ALL ARE SCAMS) but then i looked up more about orchid and the required deposit is £50, i put the phone down and they called a further three times, i just knew something was wrong. (guy on the phone sounded like and indian who had learnt to speak english by an american. He said his name was Victor Chavez.

Couldn't agree more. Also, it's probably some poor soul trying to earn some money. Tele-sales has always had a bad name but I look on it that it's at least someone with a job and not claiming benefits. I'm never rude to these people. I thank them for their call and advise them that I'm all sorted - whatever it is that they're trying to sell me. It doesn't hurt to be polite, there's too much rudeness and bad manners in this world without me adding to it.

Had a call today from this number which hung up when I answered.  We are TPS registered but it does not stop con-men and criminals calling.  

Most common is Indian man saying he is calling from Microsoft Service centre and offering to provide free software to protect my computer.  This is a change of script from previously when he said they had detected a virus on my computer and needed access to deal with it.  Obviously they want to take control of the computer to trawl for personal information.  Had a long chat with him on one ocassion in order to run up his phone bill. Found out he is based in Bradford.

My second cold call of the day from different companies.....SIGH!!!!!

Just had a call on my work landline asking for me when I asked who was calling they said, James the Groundsman for the local area and then said is this home address when I replied no, they then hung up

08451113111 is part of Nationwide Energy Services using an Auto Dialler for telemarketing.   Usually sold your number by you telephone line service provider. You can ring your telephone line provider who will probably answer with an Indian style accent and they will deny that they have sold your number..........they are not truthful !!!!!!!!
Telephone 0800 633 5769 (NES) and tell them to remove your number from their database they can do it immediately also tell them that you are reporting them to OFCOM.
WARNING:      DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL DETAILS TO THESE SCAM CALLERS.

Asking about a grant for loft insulation.  Even asking how much insulation you have in your loft!!!!

Called this morning at 9am

Called at two minutes to 8 in the evening asking to speak to a relative who has been dead for some years!!!

An absolute pain in the neck, TPS is clearly useless, about time someone invented a version of ping for telecommunications to give people the power to track these cockroaches down.

They called at 1.32pm today, but left no message.

This firm has called several times, been told I am recorded with TPS and promised to remove me from the database.
Yet another call 10am (ish) so have e-mailed their 'contact us' site, stating I do not need calls for my deceased mother, neither do I need any variety of insulation, and any further calls will be reported to TPS, OFCOM and ICS.
We shall see . . . . . some great ideas on here !

i am repeatidly getting called by these and when i answer they hang up i am not going to call them back, if this was a private number calling i woiuld phone the police and get something done but this isnt and i am not really very happy about getting repeat calls from them

I received a call from this number claiming to be a PPI reclaim company and trying to find out what loans I have had

Having had the cold caller swear down the line (because he got my answer machine) I traced the number to the company listed below. I phoned their freephone number 0800 6335769 and said I was TPS registered and I demanded an apology for the guy swearing down the line. To be fair they have taken the matter quite seriously as far as I can gather.

My mother is getting calls from the Grant Advisor and the Indian saying she has a virus on her computer - she is getting about 4 calls per day - we have had three this morning.  She is 81 she doesn't even have a computer.  I asked them who they were - a Guy called Martin said the company was EDCL but there is no record of them on the internet.  Its seems my mother is being targetted probably because they know she is elderly.  She has been a member of the TPS for about 10 years but apparently there is nothing they can do - she has started leaving the phone of the hook when they ring.

keep on getting automated calls about loft instulation and they just keep on calling who ever it is STOP

Many calls from this alleged 'company'. Know my name and full postal address!!!
Wanted to know if I'd received the form from the council re@grant for cavity wall and roof insulation.
I now always say "...hang on a minute and I'll check..."
I then leave the 'phone off the hook so that particular person's line is still engaged at his end and he can't make any more calls. After an hour or so I put the 'phone back on the rest and check I haven't had any genuine calls in the meantime.

I just had a call from 08451113111 and all they said was knob head and hung up!
