I do wish they would stop ringing, I work nights and lack of sleep is now driving me mad. Does anyone know of a telephone manufacturer that makes land line telephones that are able to block unwanted numbers....rather like a mobile phone?

TPS in operation on my number. Why are they calling me?

They are calling you because they are a rogue company.  Reputable companies obey the TPS rules and do not ring registered numbers.  Rogue companies do not obey the TPS rules and do ring registered numbers.  Unfortunately, unless everyone who is TPS registered actually reports these calls to TPS then TPS does not know they are calling you. There is no way they can know who is ringing our numbers illegally unless we tell them.

so u get a scammer, programme the Numuber into the directory as X SCAM CALL,
saving the caller blocked for REAL PESTS

I am constantly receiving calls from this number. At least 3 per week. who are they???
Better still, can i have it stopped??
My husband is a niteshift worker.

I have a Panasonic phone and block these calls. NES called today apparently, but all they got was an engaged tone.

They call almost every day at various times of the day.   Every time I tell them I am registered with TPS but they are not bothered.  Occasionally they aplogise and say they will take me off their list, but they never do. More often they are very rude and when I hang up they keep the line open to stop me making calls.  Following the advice here I have just complained to TPS.

My poor 81year old Mum is being terrorised by calls from this number up to six times each day, despite having TPS installed.
I really don't know what they hope to gain from terrorising old people. She is scared to even answer the phone.
This caller - whoever you are - should be prosecuted!

This may help people get rid of unwanted callers, I have done this three times now. Pretend to be interested in whatever they are offering (for me it has been insulation and accident claims) but only give them basic information and insist that you will only give your full details to who-ever is going to contact you do deal with your insulation or accident claim. When a company calls you (it took less than 30 mins for the first of two solicitors to contact me), Get a name and a telephone number and then tell them that you will report their contact with you to the Information Commisioners Office (the man to contact is Simon Entwistle) and to the TPS (usually a waste of time because they pass on the complaint to the ICO apparently). You also need to insist that they ensure that they contact whoever supplied them with your details so that you are never called again. Keep a record of the time, date and names. Also inform them that if you are called again and your information is passed on to them again you will take further action.

I keep getting calls asking for Mrs Carroll, she died three years ago they are from this number how can I stop it.

This company call me at 8.45am still in bed as dont start work till 3pm very angry

Got at least one call from this number while I was out - when I rang it back it just played me music. Don't know how to tell if I was charged for calling them back.

fed up with all these callers.  Ignored the phone whilst I looked it up on here.  Will answer next time and tell them to stop calling!  Not that that will stop them.

Phone rang and then no-one there when I answered.  Got the number using 1471.

Got a call from this number today. Said tyhey were from Nationwide cavity and wall insulation. Told them I wasn't interested. The man cheekily said "not interested? But you enquired about it." I said, "eeerrr, no I didn't" and he hung up on me.

Trying to sell Cavity wall insulation.............. very rude lady...told me I was missing out on a freebie....... she didn't believe me when I said I had all the insulation I needed. S be working in tele marketing.ad sad woman. Must be desperate for a job.........
