I had a missed call from this number on my Skype Internet number. Don't know how they got hold of it.

Just missed a call from this, rang a couple of times then hung up.

Not happy about this - I too have just got a new phone from Carphone Warehouse and told them to leave me alone - NO MARKETING!! Seems they don't listen. Would love to go to trading standards if something would come out of it, but you know it's a waste of time and effort. I will be going back to the shop though... no commision for that man on saturday - I'm just going to talk to him ALL day. Won't be putting anyone else on that list without permission. Mwahahahaha!!!!!

this number now being udes by a company called fast host, they like to put the phone down when questioned!

Witheld my number when I rang back and a recorded message said it was a market research company then line went dead

Have received a couple of calls from this number, didn't answer, but also have recently bought new phone from carphone warehouse.

i keep getting called by this number. One time it was withheld and an indian sounding man asked who i was. i hung up, the other two times they have let it ring once then called off, presumeably so i call back.
i also recently bought my phone, 13 days ago from the carephonewarehouse.
how do i stop it?

Just had a missed call from this number.  I'm not going to call them back having seen other comments.  I assume it is something to do with the Carphone Warehouse as I am due an upgrade but have rejected their offer.

It is not illegal. I work for this company, we are The Market Research Company based in Brighton. This number is the outbound only number from the research dept. out website is trmc.co.uk and we work on behalf of a lot of clients, who supply us with data, which is almost always their customers or associates. if you've had dealings with any company and given them your contact details, you must opt out of any future contact, or it is entirely solicited and your own problem, in which case you should contact them directly in order to amend this. if you get any calls from us in future answer it if not just to find out who we are calling on behalf of so that you can tale it up with our client directly.

We are a member of the Market Research Society, and therefore must and will ALWAYS state who we are on being asked.

Actually, you ARE breaking the law, I just received a call from you to a phone number that has been registered with the TPS for over 10 years, so you should NOT be calling it.

I have reported you, and will also complain to Offcom.

When people enter there numbers on a register to not receive marketing calls it is customary and LAW to LEAVE THEM ALONE

I just insisted they remove my number and told them I have reported them to the TPS

I am now reduced, the MD of the company emailed me because I had applied for a DHL accoumt, and they need to speak to me to set it up, so I am humbled, and extend apologies, but it was directly from the contact form, so it is worth getting in touch with them to see what they want

The TPS is only relevant to actual marketing calls, and as all calls you will recieve from this number are research, it doesn't apply.

Wrong on 2 counts. Firstly a number is only registered with the TPS for a ten year period. After that period expires, you need to re-register. Also, the TPS allows people and companies to register their names so they do not receive unsolicited calls from sales and marketing companies. These companies are liable for a severe fine if found guilty of making these calls. However, we are purely involved in MARKET RESEARCH ; not selling or marketing in any way, and as such do not fall under the control of the TPS, DMA etc. Do you honestly believe that a company would get away with breaking the law thousands of times a day for decades and not be held accountable???!!

Didn't pick up as it seemed suspicious to be getting calls off an 0845 on my mobile... rang back on my work desk phone after seeing this page. Clicked through to what I assume was a recorded message stating "Hello, you're through to Market Research Company" with ringing phones in the background, then the line dropped. Total elapsed time according to the phone display: 4 seconds flat. Interesting.

Got a call from this number asking for my website and a contact email address - they said they were from HMRC.  I said do you mean Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs - they said yes!

Recieved call from this number, they asked to speak to manager & asked my name then hung up!

just got a missed call on my mobile but i also just renewed my contract with carphone warehouse so i am guessing this is something to do with them.
