- B.N.MorrisonTelephone call from 08452410885 claiming to be from Sky TV. Very rude when told to eff off and stop annoying me. Then rang from his personal mobile number which was for information 07984540374 and called me a unrepeatable names. Let's all call him at regular intervals day and night. See how he likes it.
- Caller: Intimated the call was from Sky TV
- LindaSatassist Scammers pretending to be sky protect
- JamesSome woman phoned me, so I answered with a cheery 'hello'. There was a long delay, then asking for my wife. I asked her why there had been a delay, and she said nobody had replied so she hadn't said anything. She then said she was trying to talk to us in connection with our Sky TV, getting our names wrong. I said thankyou but I wasn't interested and hung up. Bizarrely she phoned me back a minute later to tell me how rude I was. I said I thought she was rude by getting my name wrong, and asked her what HER name was. She replied it was Alicia, and she was going to save me money on my Sky maintenance (which we don't have) but wasn't now going to do so as I was so rude.
Unsolicited phone calls are annoying, but ones that seem to serve no other purpose than telling you you're rude seem very dodgy indeed. Is the scam that I'm expected to ring back and get annoyed at my own expense? - aSome Sky customers may receive a call from a lady saying she represents Sky TV. She then goes on to explain that due to a reorganisation of service personnel Sky has been able to reduce the "service maintenance" charges. A new telephone number for maintenance is given (0845 241 0885) and there is a request for your bank details to alter your current contract

- not so simple replies to Haroldobviously works for sky assist
- redflumpA woman has just called me saying are you still paying £9 per month for Sky maintenance. When I said no, she put the phone down on me before I was able to confirm who they were. I have had Sky in the past, but never paid any insurance, and I switched to Freesat a few years ago now.
Whilst SatAssist may be genuine, their cold calling (I'm TPS registered) and sales techniques are dodgy.
Have reported them to TPS for what it's worth.- Caller: SatAssist

- IanHave been called today by Sat Assist and they became upset when I would not commit to their service. I became suspicious when they wanted my bank details which I would not provide until I had seen their service details in writing. I told them I did not want to proceed and wanted to terminate the call. After putting the phone down they called back 4 or 5 times complaining that I was rude to them. Glad to be shot of them.

- ShedbuilderI have had a few calls from this Bournemouth based company over the last few days. They make it easy for you to assume that they are Sky TV and are desperately trying to flog warranties for Sky equipment. The intention is to obtain your bank details to set up a direct debit which they then control. They do not know whether you have Sky or not, or whether your equipment is covered by Sky's warranty. The call centre seems to be staffed with charmless 'aggro-chavs' who show their true colours when confronted. My phone number is registered with the TPS, so it is illegal to cold call me. I also work in the TV industry and am fully aware of these satellite warranty scams. A few years ago David Reynolds, the director of an identical company called Satellite Direct, was sent to prison.
Sat Assist (Conservo Digital Ltd.) does not appear on the Financial Services Register and therefore may be trading illegally.
There is another company operating from the same address called 'Stop These Calls' which charges people to register on the TPS. This is a free service normally.
I have reported them to the TPS, Action Fraud, the ICO, Bournemouth police and HMRC.
I suggest if you are called by this company, when they ask to speak to someone, say that you will go and get them and then leave the phone unattended for as long as possible before hanging up.- Caller: Sat Assist

- Shedbuilder| 3 repliesAn update from the above post:
I have just called the FCA and confirmed that neither Sat Assist nor Conservo Digital are registered on The Financial Services Register. It is therefore illegal to sell insurance. Their details are now with the FCA.
To all the call centre staff: get a proper job, stop conning the elderly and confused and learn how to say 'AITCH' instead of 'HAITCH'.- Caller: Sat Assist (08452410885)
