Got a call at 3 in the morning from this number.

been called a number of times today.  I don't answer the phone, as people who want to speak to me, will call or text me on my mobile

This number called at 03.06 am when we were in bed asleep. We let the answer phone kick in but there was no message left.After about 10 min wondering who it was dialled 1471 to get this number. Freaked me out a bit and couldnt get back to sleep. However after reading some of the comments we have had txt messaging before on the landline and the message still records on the answer phone, but this time there was nothing.

Was rang by 08456021111 at 2.15 am new years eve. missed the call as I was sleeping. then received message from bt 121 saying i had a voice message. i rang 121 and received automated message saying "happy new year". not funny at that time in the night!

When I answered phone a little while ago, a voice mentioned BT and then a message I couldn't understand but ending  kiss kiss kiss
I dialed 141 and it came up with the 0845602111 number.

Just had a call from this number, today Sunday, 15th at 9.39am. I am extremely upset, not only being on a Sunday which is an important day in our family but also my husband spend all day yesterday in hospital in London having emergency treatment for a life threatening illness. He wanted to come home to have a relaxing day in his own home so getting calls from a trick call is diabolical. Just as others here, when I answered ( the number didnt appear on my caller ID - I did 1471 to find out number ) it was a recorded message from BT with a text message....it was nonsensical. When  i shut my door we leave the outdoors and all its madness behind it, our home is our sanctuary so being infultrated by pest calls ( including countless sales faxes which I am deluged with daily - depite all my eforts to stop these within my home is just deplorable and there should be heavy fines if these calls were successfully traced and those who make them caught

Got a call from this number a couple of times, uninvited and unwanted.
Switch off text messages using option 5 on 08005875252. end of problem

20:20 woke me up but no one there

i want to report this as a nuissance caller - continuously calling me after 10pm on a week day night - waking me up! can anyone tell me who this is or at least how i can lock their contacting me?

strange call, not a normal voice but recorded, no idea what she was saying. pain in the a***

we got a wierd call, then io sent one from my mobile to my landline and it came up with the 0845602111 when i did 1471 somebody is pratting about.

Just received an SMS on my landline from this number, my 12 year old daughter answered the call and the text message was verbally abusive. I am reporting it to the police, why waste time writing a comment on here, it won't do anything about the problem. Will it?

i think it may be a foreign call center working on behalf of talk talk or the carphone warehouse. i know there are scams going around at the moment, but these numbers if you look them up have been around for ages, so most likely official, but dont take my word for it for definate-theres always a chance! i got a call at almost 4am last night. youd think the call center staff would be taught about what time british folk are in bed. LOL! alot of people are stating that the staff can be very rude on the phone, so I will not answer to any if they can not confirm that they are working here in the uk! our latest talktalk money has not automatically come out of our bank, which is very odd, hence the foreign workers trying to claim the money- i would not trust it, if its meant to be automatic, fix it and dont put me through to a rude foreign worker!

Another number to watch out for is 01925-555601, I have also received this one, just weird noise on the phone when I picked it up, although others claim rude foreign workers can also be found.

send a text message via your mobile phone to your normal home phone - if its the BT text service then you should get a phone call from this 0845 number! this would surely explain calls at odd hrs, especially at times such as new yr, when people accidentally send a "happy new yr!" to your home phone instead of your mobile. it must be a fairly new service, but i have just joined Talk Talk, and these calls have only just started up, for some odd reason.. and just as you might get stupid spam text messages to your mobile phone, dont agree or listen to everything you hear on this home text message service either, as its exactly the same

within 2 days i got 2 annoying calls. The first was at 1am. The second one (this number) at 4am!

"1) the number 08456021111 is BT's text service.
2) when it calls it will tell that is is BT, read you the number that the message is from, and then you press 1 for it to  read the message to you.
3) this is a completely FREE service. so answering the call costs you nothing! the only person it charges is the person who sent the text, and i believe it is the cost of a regular text message.
4) if you miss the call, just call the number back. this is a lo-rate call.
5) if you don't want to call the number back, then wait and it will call again. (note, your answering machine will not be able to pick up the message because you must press 1 to listen to it).
6) this service is good to use if you want to text someone at home. just text their landline number.
7) you can specify the settings by calling 0800-587-5252 (for FREE). you can choose when these calls can be received (a cut off time) and even turn it off, meaning people cannot text your landline (unless you have phones that allow character texts like you receive on a mobile phone).
8) if you do receive garbled messages, it could be from the wrong number or someone who is texting in text speak (a way that the automated system is unable to read).
9) if it is a scam txt (from someone you do not know) it is still nothing to do with BT. the message still does not cost you anything, just don't fall for whatever the message says. (it may be a bank you don't have an account with who tells you to call a number. DON'T!!) just ignore the message and if it becomes a regular problem then call 0800-587-5252 (for free) to sort it out.
10) someone could even submit your landline to text service to receive prank messages (eg, jokes, or adult texts). this happened to my brothers friend (by another one of his friends). once again call 0800-587-5252 (for free). note: this isn't a likely occurrence. it's just people being idiots."

my 1am call, 01925-555601, was from Talk Talk. im still wondering as to why they would call so late - they even called today (12pm), but I just missed it-hopefully its not automatic advertising!

Looked at my caller ID, saw this 0845 no and assmed it was just another crappy sales call.....until it said "yo have a message, to listen press 1 "

....so I did .... It was a texted voice mail ( BT service ) sent from my husband's mobile phone, it said.... "I love you xx"

Ahhhh, and he was only downstairs ! now that is so sweet, the sort of call I like !

Got a call at 04.45 this morning (1/1/10) telling me I had a text message! If this is BT at its best Lord help us!!!

We have had several calls from 08456021111, dont waste any time with this number, it is a load of RUBBISH
