Hi guys this is the sms number that calls you when someone texts your home phone. My husband half asleep text his friend or so he thought until I pointed out that he had sent it to our home phone instead. It will keep ringing to you delete the message totally harmless and probably so.eone just texting to wrong number xxxx

had 5 calls from this number this morning, no answer when I answered it and no messages left, I have a close family member who just died and this kind of call is so upsetting.  How can I get this to stop

Received 8 calls from this number today.  I don't answer, but it is becoming very annoying.  I will call the number given by idilis and hopefully put a stop to it.

These scam artists are now calling with a BT SMS message from a mobile number asking you to press 1 to hear the message - do not be fooled you will then be connected to 08456021111 which will charge you a premium rate

Actually, this is not as sinister as it seems. I was sitting in a meeting and a colleague sent me a text message to my landline number instead of my mobile. After that, I started getting missed calls from this number. When I eventually picked up the phone from this number, it was a recorded BT message, saying I'd rec'd a text message to my landline. So you get a call from this number if anyone sends you a text to your landline.

got 5 missed calls twenty mins apart.

Did get a sms message that was legit. If I answered first call may not have others.

Duff message received, no text. I fear this is a con.

I got a call from them today at 6.02am. I thought that it was an emergency and was worried but there was no answer!

You can restrict or cancel by phoning BT 0800 5875252  option 1 then to cancel option 5. The scammers have decided this is a good way to make money!

its new years day 2014 and i have had 2 calls from this number saying there is a texted message from bt press 1 to listen. Well bt get your house in order and stop this number from ringing people. Oh and im not even with bt/S

If you read some of the messages on here this all is from a BT service which kicks in when some idiot sends an SMS to your landline.  Given New Years Eve I imagine there were quite a few last night.  You don't need to be a BT customer.  If you go to Page one for this number someone tells you how to stop these messages in the future.  However, as people tend not to bother reading previous posts before they post, probably no-one will read this.

This is number is the BT SMS text store. It is not a scam, just someone sending a text to your home phone number.

The one I received today was to remind me of my dental appointment !!

My mother is receiving calls from this phone number and they are distressing her. She is on preferential phone service.

Then why are so many people getting the same [***]?? I doubt everyone of these people here had a text message sent to their landline people have mobile phones. Dont stick up for these phone SCAMMERS and leaches, scavenger scum they should be disposed of.

The messages themselves might be scams but the service itself isn't. I have had friends mistakenly send text messages to my landline number. I always thought it was a slightly odd service to introduce but there you go, it's there.
