No idea why.... didn't get to call but getting them regularly. - Charlie FretwellPesky nuisance, these calls have been going on now for weeks on end usually two at a time with a 15 minute gap,I am not convinced that the service is working properly anyway,if BT are responsible then they should be made to stop doing it as it is an invasion of anyones privacy, the stupid voice on the recording is getting everyones back up.
Charlie - B Cool| 2 repliesIt's a nuisance to many, but you can cancel it.
Dial 0800 587 5252 from the phone you wish to ‘opt’ out (BT landlines) and
choose option 1, then option 5
and you should not get any further calls from 0845 602 1111

You may have heard about SMS-enabled landline phones. If you have one (and register the fact with BT) an SMS to your landline arrives in the normal way. Otherwise, you are phoned up from this number and the text message read to you. You can also phone in to pick up your messages.
If you have a mobile phone, try it yourself. Text your own landline. it's also free to receive if you answer the phone when they call you. (You pay normal 0845 rates - 2p/min daytime, 0.5p/min evening + 6p connection from a BT residential line - if you call it back.)- Caller: BT SMS service
- SarahGot a call on that number called it back and it said the person I was calling wasnt available but i could leave a message.
