I didn't answer I figured it was rubbish call...

from HSBC purporting to be from Wrexham branch - said he had noticed that I hadn't been in the branch for a while and I said that's because I am not with that branch! He had just looked at my address! Wanted me to call in to update my details. I said I bank online and I can do it there! Probably just a marketing ploy.

This website makes no sense! If i wanted to scam people I would just set up my number here and create a few positive comments about it. As soon as i got detected i could start the process again. In fact this website could actually help me with my scam phonecalls.

Got a call from this number - it was HSBC, Clerkenwell Road branch.

Got a call from this no. first on my mobile and then on my landland.  Missed both calls and the didn't leave a message.  I assume from the above replies it must be HSBC (I bank with them) as they had both my contact numbers, but I haven't checked to see what they want.

yeah.. its say "you were called by HSBC" Could be a brilliant scam though - watch out. Give no details.

Call from Areej at HSBC. Asking me if I wanted to upgrade from my Passport bank account and she asked for my DOB.

Didn't give any details and asked if there was a way that I could verify that they were actually from HSBC. She said to call back on the same number and it should go to a switch... not exactly a foolproof way of knowing they are legit.

Keep getting calls from this number as well!!!

I've had a number of calls from similar numbers then answered this one.  It was someone from a local HSBC branch where I opened a credit card a year ago.  She was asking me if I was happy with it a year on.  I think the branch phones go through a switch board and come out as these numbers. However, all she said was "this is Brenda from the bank"!

Missed this call. Didn't ring back. Glad I checked with you first. Sound very 'phishy' to me

i don't think this is HSBC. she said she was calling from a bank but when i asked them who they were looking for and they wouldn't tell me. when i asked them what bank they were calling from she said she said she wasn't calling from a bank. when i dialled 1471, it said HSBC and no need to call back. what a load of crap

.. just received a call from this number. They said they were from my local HSBC branch. Sounded very much like a sales type call asking if I was happy with my mortgage/insurance arrangements. Obviously they don't have access to central details as she couldn't tell me anything about my accounts and I don't give out anything on the phone - especially if cold called in this way. Said I was happy all round and if I was, would contact them. She wasn't pushy or nasty so not the worst sales call I have ever received!!

It's HSBC. Had a meeting with them yesterday, today the person I met with called back about something on that number

It's a genuine call from HSBC, for any number of reasons.If you're account is in difficulty, account upgrades, home insurance, loans or card is ready to be picked up. As for answering the security questions, it's to make sure that they have called the correct person and don't dish out your account details to anyone else, which is a breach of the DPA

I had a missed call from this number today, rang it back, again its HSBC...i dont even bank with HSBC, hold a credit card with HSBC or any other policy.
