- JCall and all there was whwn I answered was a high pitched whistle. This only stopped when I took out the batteries from the handset. No message no response from a person.
- bethanhad a call today saying it was HSBC, without any explanation they asked for my security details. When I asked what the call was about, he was extreemely vague and didnt provide me with an answer and again asked for my security details. Obviously said NO! and replied that if HSBC needed to contact me then they should write to me instead and put the phone down!
- Caller: ?
- SandraFew days ago I was at HSBC and left my number so that they can call me for an interview. 2 Hours later I had some missed calls from that number. And when I answered the last time i said "Hello" but there was no response and when I asked the person to identify himself I asked him who he is and he told me he is my boyfriend ...it was the same person working in that branch ( I recognized him because if his voice). I am so pissed off. I'm thinking about reporting this person...
- Caller: HSBC
- GaryGot two calls, one on mobile, one on business line, didn't answer either, no idea who they were, no messages left! Fed up with nuisance calls
- Caller: Unknown
- Tagore Chand MeahSomeone said she was calling from HSBC Bank and was asking for my date of birth. Suspicious!
- ScottCHSBC following up a mortgage appointment.
- Caller: HSBC
- Looby LooClaimed to be HSBC but they asked for my account details and sort code before they could go into any detail about what this call was about - I dont think so. If thye were HSBC they would have this information and also ask me the security questions.
* Beware * - Mrs WomanDefinitely a sales call from HSBC. Rang me at home and my mobile, left a message asking me to phone a different number to discuss borrowing money. I hadn't contacted them and as it was a sales call and I am registered with TPS I shall be reporting them.
- Caller: HSBC
- Call type: Telemarketer
- hi replies to Kevinyep rang back its HSBC
- oldbillYup, got a missed call from this number today for the first time then 1 min later from a withheld number - duh!
I just never answer an unknown number - if its genuine they always leave a voice message.- Caller: Not sure
- RegI suspect this is HSBC. They called my wife's mobile then mine. Neither of us answered and no message left. Had a previous similar experience (verified as HSBC but I cant remember if same number )and they asked for confidential info. We never provide any info for unsolicited calls.
- Caller: possibly HSBC
- Annie FrannieCalled and hung up - if this is the world's biggest local bank wouldn't they know how to speak to people they call??
- 2000flThis no has rung landline, mobile and wrok repeatedly over last 3 days as have other which this site strongly suggests are HSBC or someone scamming as HSBC. When I've rung HSBC call centre to query these calls before they have been unable to tell me whether they've called or not. All the banks say they won't ask for security details but HSBC have done so with me before. Fed up - moving bank. That worked well for them didn't it
- Haitch sbcthey've called me & left voicemail claiming to be my local branch and asking me, by name, to call back. I don't bank with my local branch but our freehold company does so I imagined it was about that account. However when I called back I got a supremely irritating (to a pedant like me!) mesage stating "You have been called by"HAITCH SBC and there is nothing for YOURSELF to do". wtf is that all about? if it really is on behalf of HSBC (that's AITCH SBC) for a start they should get someone who can speak the Queen's english to do their message. Or better still, don't cold call me. If this number pops up when I am in I'm afraid they will get an ear-burning they'll not forget.
- Caller: 08456032821 HSBC allegedly
- Stu replies to ShaunIf staff from HSBC must call customers for whatever reason then they should have to answer security questions too... I would never give security details to someone calling me, just isn't safe anymore. When setting up the account there should be a password or something that HSBC staff must give before you confirm your details to them.
- AndyThey called me from this number and said they need to talk to me about my account. Tried to confirm that they were who they were by giving me my birthdate. I told him I would never give any information under those circumstances. He informed me they would be sending me a letter concerning this. I am waiting for the letter.
Best advice is to NEVER ever give out any information to people who ring you up, unless you know them of course. If it is important they will soon send you a letter.- Caller: HSBC
- JohnI have had an assurance that HSBC will never call my land line number so I will never answer a call allegedly from them.
