just got call from this number about 30 seconds after completing a competition to win free laser eye surgery. checked the number online and found this sight.  Guess what, found another link for the same 'offer' at the bottom of one of these pages.

This is to be totally honest.

It is not just customers they are harrassing, they also cold call professional staff to try and get them to work for them !

SO everybody is in the same boat.

My advice?

Steer clear of this company- they are very quick to take your money- they will drag their heels over a refund, from within , they treat their staff likewise- promises not delivered- and an appalling working atmosphere with a very high staff turnover.

The ethics of the company is largely down to the senior management which has very little in the way of ethics and has no problems in lying and cheating anyone in any shape possible to grab a little bit more money to spread the misery further as they expand.

Many customers complain about service- but it doesnt matter by then they have your money and are buying their next laser clinic in another country.

Steer clear- ethically and morally , boycott this company!

By the way- if you see any posts from anyone from Optical Express saying anything good about it its because they have probably been promised a pay rise or a promotion etc etc- I call it a Honeymoon Period- it wont happen.

Bottom line- do not deal with this company.

dont blame the workers/callers blame the company!

Everyone who works there is generally unhappy- unless they for a shortwhile feel there will be light at the end of their hard graft in that place- (shortlived happiness)

I feel sorry for anyone  who works there that cannot find a way out fast enough!

you people are mind numbingly stupid. try reading the conditions before you enter the competition. it states clearly that by registering your interest in a free laser eye surgery CONSULTATION you are putting your name into the hat for free surgery.

Ok (to above)  But a misleading marketing campaign is just the tip of the iceberg and it should ring alarm bells.

A lot of people will get caught out on something like this advert- but that does not make them a moron!
Companies who do this kind of misleading thing do it because it will work on the majority of people- otherwise they would not do it!

This is not the first time this company have been criticised for misleading marketing.
Whoever wrote the 'morons' post probably owns the company!

I get called twice a day every day - same time in morning and evening. I dont answer and since looking on google i now know who it is! as they never leave VM

this company must be a very dodgy company.
I mean, think about it. What kind of company which sells eye surgery in a misleading marketing campaign  and harrasses all the customers until 9pm at night can be trusted to perform laser surgery on you
I mean - who even sells surgery like this.
Its surgery! how so very disrespectful to all the patients out there! what a cowboy healthcare provider! clearly they do not respect peoples right to chose who does their surgery and when, and whether or not they should!
I would not trust this company with my eyes!

I've been plagued for about a month, several times a day from this number.
They never leave a message or anything, it just keeps calling me back despite having NEVER answered their call. (how long does it take to give up and move on?) I know I didn't sign up for anything with any one because almost every 'free [insert product] if you sign up today' thing is a scam.  
Next time they call, I swear I am going to let slip a string of obscenities at whoever or whatever is on the other end. Should that fail, I think a number change is in order.

why do they keep calling,I do not need their services

They were calling me about a week or more. Even at 9:00pm. I never answered their calls.
Then I send an email through their contact form and to: customerservices@opticalexpress.com

The message I send was:

"Please stop call me at my mobile number and erase my personal details from your database or Ι will file claims for misinformation and misleading advertising. I do not want your services."

I didn't receive any answer but the calls stopped. yeahhhh

The call is from Optical Express. I entered a competition on line and it seems they give out your number to anyone who could be a nuisance to you.

Well, all you people need to get a life.  Yes Optical Express will call you, but only because you have given someone your number, either them directly or through another company.  They do not pass numbers on to any other companies, so thats a lot of crap.  The people who work here hate calling idiots like you as much as you hate getting the calls.  The lesson to be learned it dont give out your numbers.  The competition is not a scam , there is one winner every month.  Although that is from 1000's of people. Also, with regards to people saying "How can you trust them with your eyes when they do this!"  Well, if you knew anything about any of the UK providers of Laser Eye Surgery then you would find that all of them do the exact same thing.  They are trying to make money ad use what they call leads to contact customers, some from their own websites, some from others.  The idiots of this country seem to never learn not to give out your numbe to anyone if you dont want phone calls.  So simple that even a child would understand!!!!

This just sounds like it came straight from the fingers of Susan Jarvis (the supposed assistant call centre manager, more like call centre JOKE!)  There are very few people who work there that do enjoy it, but for them it is money and as 'Worker' wrote previously it pays the bills, not leaving much left over though cause the wages are crappy!  

Its when they employ sales managers who have experience in catering to run a call centre that things go wrong.  She does not have a clue what she is doing and since she started not only have sales dropped drastically but also the contact centre has become the worst in Glasgow to work for, having the highest turnover of staff for any call centre in the area this year so far.

What they really need to do is re-structure and get rid of people who only make the place worse, then maybe it would be better for the people who work there and even the customers who chose to go with Optical Express.

sick of getting calls from this number.  especially when i am at work and cant answer it unless it is an emergency.  i now have to turn my phone off at work.  what if someone needs me at home for a real family emergency?  thanks optical express!!!!!!! oh ant another thing i never entered any lazer eye surgery competion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this so called former emplyee probably still works there.
and is still waiting for the next promotion, somehow thinks that what they are writing here is for a good cause.

Please respect the majorities opinions. People feel harrassed. This is not normal.

Let your boss know that!
