David moulsdale  people are tired of having to deal with you - customers and employees writing on the Internet .
In my opinion You have shown no mercy on your staff and Have no respect for your customers .

I think it's time for you to sell optical express and leave. Stop damaging the industries reputation by ending up on watchdog , please stop harming employees - too much bad feedback about you which you have actively tried to hide by removing feedback from the Internet .

Please leave I think you have had your fun and it's time for you to go .

If you look at the Wikipedia talk page for Optical Express it looks like they are closing up to 83 stores (they say 40 but then fudge about a buy back). Looks serious to me!

My view is that it is best for the industry that David moulsdale sells the business as it stands .
I think a sensible level headed businessman can make Optical Express a huge success - the problem is not the environment , economic climate etc - the problem Is that we have in my view a highly immature irresponsible person in charge who is unable to bring that business to its full potential and is wasting a lot of hard working employees time . It's time moulsdale faced up to that reality and sells the company !

I don't know where the store closures are, just mine and my colleagues. I know my stores lease isn't up and speaking to a couple of other managers neither are theirs. I reckon we are doing a runner from our stores! We were told to pack everything up the same day and it was all being collected the same day. Why such a rush??? Fishy!

In October 2012, Optical Express Group announced the closure of over 20% of its UK stores and appointed administrators for its struggling subsidiary, 123Leeds ltd which has a portfolio of 83 Optical Express locations. At least 40 stores will be closed in October 2012 with some redundancies. This large scale downsizing follows an internal strategic review led by Frank Blin who as former head of PwC was appointed to the Optical Express board by their bankers RBS earlier in 2012. This follows the closure of 6 dental clinic locations in September 2012 leaving 7 of an original 35

I advised moulsdale to close stores years ago there was no way the business  was sustainable under that format , leadership and performance -and have seen it heading this way for some time .

Under moulsdales leadership this is the only way it could have headed . He's not the leadership oe needs .

Moulsdale has been kidding himself  i think and I recommend all OE staff to encourage moulsdale to sell Optical Express - a wonderful company driven by incredible employees who deserve the best leadership possible and can strive under new direction - but not under Moulsdales leadership .

I'm so sorry for those any employees who are worried - my advice is that contrary to many industries the optic industry is still in growth - that's the good news and many businesses do need and value your skills - please remember it is important to continue contributing to the success of a business in eyecare that puts the loyalty of customers At the heart of their business . And there are plenty of those companies surviving well  in this industry today .

I am guessing the stores that closed are the stores that Frank Blin, advised OE to close, I think these are the 40 stores that closed today. Dont think there will be more.

I think the laser eye surgery bubble is close to being burst.

How can you cay OE is a wonderful company? Its underhand tactics and very poor practises are probably to blame for the closure of nearly half the UK stores, staff only do what they are told from above, the orders are to get people in the door and take their cash and give them whatever treatment they can without thinking whether they actually should be treating some people, ie people like myself who have been butchered by these cowboys and my vision is now permanently poor due to them.

Still think OE is a wonderful company??  They are only there to take money, that is all.

    Re 'tewe'

Is this the sub for 'reading with interest', conspicuous by his absence?!

Maybe Patrick James-Green sneaking back in again, or is it David Moulsdale himself??!!

"It would seem from your obsessive posts, you are the one most loyal to David :)"

I think 'Wondering' possibly has more insight & knowledge re DM than anyone else posting - me included!
