I called to order space bags and within a month I've had £99.99 refunded from my account for the same reason as you all above. They wanted to give me a free trial for holiday membership which I declined and then I got a letter saying they've taken the money.

I called - and was pretty shocked to have someone pick up the phone straight away as I thought it was going to be a nightmare getting through and despite the rudeness of the woman on the phone, they have said they are refunding me. If not, I will go to the police.

They don't have a website - which is the main sign that there is something wrong!

I don't get it though surely you know what you're being interviewed for Steve? You must have more info that can help all of us scammed??? How long has this been happening? Sounds like you worked there a while back! Help us out I thankfully got my money back but I can quite believe that thousands don't!!!!!!

Hi, the Call Centre is in 2 sections 'incomming' and 'out going' calls. I was on incomming where you start by taking orders for mail order items. As there are several different clients some not actually associated with Space Bags you were taught to take orders for the different mail order items a client or two at a time and built up to take all the incomming calls including free and easy. Although you hear talk of it being a scam among the staff you don't realise that they are telling the truth until you are trained for the calls. Then you are told things like ' do not tell the customer you are in England' 'if they want the address tell them there is only the Spanish address' 'never tell them we are the same as SpaceBags' 'never give out details of Phillip Mason (Director) or the Pressplay Call Centre' and so on. I have put everything I know on this site, so if you read previous posts you'll get more or less the whole picture. I wish I was living off his money. he squirrled it away and left me with massive debts. I have my own job so he never supported me just supported his other women and their children.

Had a brochure sent through, and after searching through the comments on this site can only assume it details were passed over from an order of abtrak equipment.  Have call the number and got membership cancelled before the 30 days is up.  Will make sure I check my credit card statement though.

Hi steve I have just recieved a letter from them but mine asks if I have enjoyed the benefits of free and easy over the past year I didn't even know anything about the company let alone subscribe the only thing I can think they got my details is  when I bought spacesaver bags, would you have any idea if they would have taken out the £99.99 last year, I cant understand how they are aloud to get away with what they are doing its the companies like spacesaver bags and the others that are going to lose out because people will stop buying off them is it only the phone orders they can do it or online too I appreciate any advice you can give me thanx       sue

The letter does sound like one of there renewel letters. The only way to check is to find your last years card statements. The money would have been taken at about the same time last year. Phone the number to cancel it's about 10p a minute, they will cancel. You could try asking if any money was taken last year but they will probably say thay don't know. If they have taken money last year if you cause as much hassle to them as possible demand to speak to Philip Mason (he's not based at the call centre so unlikley you'll get to, however he may call you back) Scott Cleverdon owns the call centre so should get to speak to him. Amanda Coles call centre supervisor/manager. It has been known for them to give a refund from previous year. The direct line to the call centre is 01271 336336 use this number to contact the people named. They get away with it because they are registered in Spain although it is a UK company scamming everyone.

I found out that i had had £99.99 taken from my bank by free and easy after ringing this number and asking them for an explanation they said that space bags had given them my details ,after telling free and easy about ten times that I hadnt purchased any thing from space bag but had just enquired about their products and not purchased any thing from themI had however filled in the online order befor realizing that their product wasnt sutable for my needs ,when I rang space bags and told them they said they would scrap all my details,that it was no problem but after getting thou to the woman from free and easy she insisted I had a phone call on a certain date agreeing to join their travell club any way after about half an hour of me screeming at the stupid [***] they admitted they were in the wrong and agreed to refund my money People like these deserve to be taken to court and sued to the hilt for the fraudulent way they trade.

I received letter,bank phoned the number cuse I thought it was a scam.  They said I had been phoned
but I had not.  Money taken from my account and despite frequent phone calls to them and their promises to refund the cash they have not done so.  This has been going on for over 8 months now

I received a letter from free & easy Lifestyles dated 08/05/2012 with that phone number.
They are based in Buzon 150, Calle Diamante 19, P.I La Ermita,
29603, Marbella , Malaga, Spain. They offer a 30 day Free trial offering
free holidays and discount holidays. If the Free trial as a member is not cancelled
then your bank account will be debited £99.00. They mention as agreed in the phone call
though I have never received a phone call. I have never applied to this company for anything!

Hi Jennifer, read the previous posts. The Spanish address is a 'mailing house' the scam is all run from UK by Pressplay in Devon and Essex. You would have ordered items by mail order from a compnay that uses the North devon call centre.

I too, only today received this letter and welcome brochure. I have cancelled any credit cards and also called these cheeky little buggers to cancel. My experience was that I had ordered some space bags and then received a call asking if I was satisfied with said product. My response was honest "I have not long received them and haven't as yet had time to use them" I also excused myself as I was busy to go to work.Never have I heard of free and Easy nor would I have plumped for a free trial of any variety for holidays. I have reported to fraud and am going to report to the police. I am extremely unhappy that this type of personal banking sharing can be happening in this day and age of online business.

These people are criminals and although I don't seem to have any monies taken from me the violation still angers me. I requested an email to confirm cancellation. Guess what??? NOTHING

I have had  this happen to me a while back! I spoke to a lady named Sian - she wouldnt give me her surname! although she agreed to refund my money she started tuting and huffing. she was VERY rude to me. insisting i has received a booklet when i never. Steve D, did you work there or something?

I have just received a brochure and letter. I told them that I had not been told about the membership, only that I would receive a catalogue.
As I am disabled, I do much of my shopping online or from catalogues.

I also told them that if any money was taken from my card, i would report them to Trading Standards. Watch this space!!

The lady said that she had cancelled the membership from today. We wait to see if she has!
I may be disabled, but I can still stir up a whole load of trouble for them if they con me.

why are these people passing our card details to a third party surely that is illegal ?

hi, i received a brochure the other day from free and easy, the only mail order company i have used is crazy clearance, has any one had any dealings with them, i phoned free and easy and asked where they got my card details from and the woman said she didint know, i asked to speak to a manager and she said there was no manager available, i have cancelled my card and have reported to trading standards and action for fraud, why cant this be stopped, can any one tell me how they get your card details when it is fraud to pass on a persons card details to a third party, i did not get a phone call either and was about to throw it away thinking it was junk mail, then decided to read it, i am not going to let this one go, i am not a woman to be messed with.

Hi, if you want to follow this up call the call centre direct on 01271 336336. The scam is run from this call centre in Devon. Ask to speak to Amanda Coles or Scott Clevedon they will try and bull [***] you. But they can tell you what you originally ordered and where your card details came from. Everything goes through this call centre, read the previous posts for addresses etc.
