Hi had a letter today same as all the ones reported.  Had no phone call so far.  Letter has a different number to the one above it is 0871 220 3097 I have rung and spoken to somebody called Kirsty and cancelled membership and it only took a minute.  It does say calls will only cost 10p per minute.  I will still ring bank to make sure they do not take any money tho.  

They should be stopped as a lot of people will not bother with following it up.   Oh by the way I also bought spacebags.  Thanks for the other two addresses too I am going to send letters of cancellation to them also

Many thanks Steve D.  Your comments have been really helpful. I won't be wasting money on phone calls to these fraudsters.  I've already contacted my Bank and have cancelled my card.  Next step is to cancel my so called 'membership' with Free (NOT) & Easy via snail mail and get Space Bag and its sordid business associations discredited as much as possible.  No way would I ever purchase from them again!!!

I have recieved a brouchre and letter, from free & easy lifestyle, stating that they have called me - they haven't.  They said they recieved my details from another company.  On reading these posts, I too ordered some stuff from Space Bag.  Can they really give your Bank Details to other companies?

I have had a brochure today and called them, as I had not agreed to anything and had no phone call. I gave the girl hell on the phone, but she wouldnt tell me who passed on my details, only that I must have ordered from a mail order company.  When pressed, she told me to write to the address in spain, which I now find out is false.  I have supposedly cancelled the membership, but have called barclaycard today and got my card blocked and a new card is being sent out to me.  I have also e mailed spacebag and told them exactly what i think of them!!

I guess site Admin have removed the personnel details of the thieving people that run this scam so here they are again, why should the company have our details but we can't have theirs!

Free & Easy Lifestyle - SCAMMERS !!!   My 80 year old mother got letter from them JaN 2012 saying free months trial then, if she does nothing they will automatically upgrade her to full member as they already have her bank details from when they spoke to her recently on phone !    I rang them to cancel, spoke to lady named KIM, asked her when they actually spoke to my mother and she said on 23rd January.   I asked her how that was possible as my mother has been in Australia for last 3 months ?    To make matters worse I tried to get her bank to take a note of it to stop any payments to them but the bank are unable to do anything, and gave me fraud squad number who can do something, IF they go ahead and take the money out !!!

I phoned my bank who gave me this number 08712203097 which put me through to an advisor from free and easy.  Using my most calm but clearly annoyed voice I explained that I had not authorised this payment and would like my money refunded.  The girl was 'very surprised' that this had happened as clearly this is not 'how it is supposed to work' and 'did I not recieve a phone call in December?'.  I explained that I had recieved a call from someone who had asked me about a previous purchase and said I would get a magazine through the door, when a holiday broshure arrived there was no letter or any mention of money or membership.  She apologised and said that the money would be refunded within 10 days.  

I will be keeping a very close eye on my account and cancelling my card.  I am shocked that a company can act in this way.

I no longer live in Devon and as far as I know no one there now, has my new contact details. If they do what are they going to do I've not told any lies on here !

This is my first experience of such a scam - they are complete gangsters! I have cancelled my card and emailed spacebags and they just reply with some generic email but it does say in it that they have cancelled membership and removed my details from their database. Looks like this has been going on for years when I google them.

So Steve D. If you are an ex-employee then surely you are one of the cons that are offering this membership to people. You are not much better them then are you!

When you start with this company you don't realise they are running this scam, especially when you are on incomming calls, after a few weeks they train you to take Free and Easy calls. Then you soon know it's a scam, I left as soon as I could. Thats why I give as much info as I can on this site. I hope I've helped people who have been conned by this company. But apart from doing something illegal there's not much more I can do as for some reason Trading Standards/Credit Card companies seem to be powerless aswell.

Me too....  Ordered SpaceBags. Received a call from a man asking if I was happy with my purchase and if I would like a catalogue. I asked if there was a catch and he said "no", the free trial would end and I needed to do nothing. I said "yes",  what a mistake. Yesterday I received the Free & Easy Lifestlye brochure, with covering letter, and like most of you, it mentioned a phone call. Taking £99.99 after 30 day FREE trial from credit card. ALARM BELLS - I was really concerned so I called them, gave Kirsty 717 an earful. I have cancelled my credit card and my bank are sending me another one. Did anyone have money taken after they cancelled their card? I wanted to check they did not have any more of my details (that I did not give them!). Thank you

Yes,the bank have sometimes( rarely) debited the new card, I think maybe because it is linked to the original purchase SpaceBags = Pressplay = Free and Easy. make sure your bank will not pay anything to Free and Easy or Pressplay companies.
