This company should be closed down they are nothing but thieving scum robbing people of their money, which most of us don't have and that is the reason we went to them in the first place to get help. They told me they had 4 lenders willing to give me money, in the end it turned out that '' unfortunately madam your application was unsuccessful'', surprise surprise!! in total they charged me £75 for phone calls to them, which no doubt will take them ages to pay me back. I hope that the b***ards that own this company find themselves in need of financial help and that the same happens to them. Is there no way that after so many years of this company ripping people off that they can be stopped? If it was tom, dick or harry that did it they would get in to serious trouble but these guys get away with it, how is this fair?!! I wonder has anyone ever actually managed to get a loan through this con artists!

I would say about 99.8% of the time any number like this is out to make money, not give it.

Here's some tips. I pray as many people read this as possible.
To some of you this may seem obvious, but it's easy to fall into this trap.

Never use ANY phone number that starts with 09 - These are premium rate numbers and are designed to cost you the most money when you ring them.

Any 08 (except 0800 and other free numbers) be cautious.
Use a geographical alternative number for these if possible.
saynoto0870.com is a good place to find a alternative geographical number.

Just FYI - If you don't know what a geographical number is. It's a number that all 08, 09, 070 number are attached to. Basically a landline number (01, 02, 03) which are generally free.

The last one to watch out for are 070 number. These look like normal mobile numbers at first glance, but have you ever seen ANY mobile number that starts with 070? Basically these are like 09 numbers and are premium rate. Avoid at ALL costs!

Another FYI - If you use BT then you probably have a call package that lets you ring 0845 and 0870 numbers for free, like 0800. This is fine but make sure you know you have this feature available of you DO happen to use BT as your landline provider.

A lot of companies are now trying to get around this by using 0844 instead of 0845 and other numbers. So be sure to check saynoto0870.com for alternatives to these numbers.

    More advice.
If you can't find an alternative number then you're probably better off looking elsewhere anyway, unless you have no choice.

    Last thing to mention.
Just another FYI - If you've heard or read that you can call the DWP ( Department for Work and Pensions - AKA JobCentre for free from a mobile phone on certain networks, like O2, be careful, as this only applies to the NEW CLAIMS phone number.

I hope I have saved some of you some more money with this rant. My appologies too.

    I say this:

If they were honest, they wouldn't use a premium rate number to "help" out desperate people find a loan, and if they found a loan and were legitimately helping you with another company they would be able to get commission from redirects.

Hence why I stay clear of all 09 numbers and 070.

From what I can tell from this and other numbers which they use, when you 'phone them back, they keep you on the line for as long as possible by going through their terms and conditions a few times, slowly, passing you from one person to another with gaps in between, etc.  The cost of these calls can be crippling as you will see if you read some of the other posts.  This company has been fined by Phonepayplus for missuse of the premium rate system and has also been investigated on a couple of occasions by The Daily Mirror (details on Page 1 of this number).  The company use this expensive call scam so that they can say they do not charge an up front fee. people do seem to get their 'phone call costs back, but when you think you have to wait for the bill then copy it and send it to them and then wait 40 days to get the refund, they do not make it easy.  In addition to this they are Brokers and could pass your details to some of these Indian scam loan companies.

your are welcome.  The bit I like in the "Corporate Drivel" which answers every complaint, is the bit about "we could keep £5 for admin charges, but we refund all the charges".  They don't mention that they were fined by "Phonepayplus" for keeping the £5, and that is why they now refund the lot!!

the 0906400 numbers are supplied by Cable and Wireless UK.

cost to 'customer' 127.65 ppm (mobiles a lot more)

    Government  take VAT %20
Billing Network takes share ?? (mobiles a huge amount)
Cable and Wireless takes share ??
    Horizon's share  ??

Assuming from the number of complaints the majority of people who call don't receive a loan, the main income stream for this 'business' are the premium rate numbers which means their business model doesn't add up.

For Horizon / Cash Finance Direct to offer full refunds to anywhere near all the people who called would leave them massively out of pocket.

They obviously rely on the fact that a lot of people are not going to get a refund.

This has 'premium rate scam' written all over it.

I used this company a while ago & thought it was a scam so didn't send off for a refund on my phone bill BUT I've just watched a programme on BBC1 and we may actually get a refund! Turns out the way they make their money is because 75% of people don't send off for a refund so I'm sending for mine tomorrow! You need to send a copy of your phone bill with the call highlighted and a cover letter with your name and address on to 'Freepost CFD' I'll let you know if I get my refund, fingers crossed x

It would be very interested to know, if not these type of companies needs to be shut down and reported.
