This prat is now trying on in the Wolverhampton area. It is all very upsetting and something needs to be done. He had more detail about a crash where my wifes brother was tragicaly killed. He wanted to speak to him to asertain his injuries. It was all to upsetting for my wife. What can be done?

Recieved a call from 091399.

They just said they are from fraud prevention.  I just hung up.

Very similar to all these posts. Man with strong indian accent very abrupt and rude called about 10 mins ago from this number. Claiming to be from natonal accident bureau or something. Asked to speak to someone in the house who had had an accident in last 3 years. I asked him again who he was, and he repeated but added someone in the house had had back or neck injuries. I was very rude too and asked him how he would know that information as it is supposed to be private. Caller said he got the information from the NHS and Gp. And then asked again if he could speak to the person. I asked him who it was that he needs to speak to. He replied saying I can't reveal that due to data protection. So I replied by saying if he doesn't know who to ask for then how can I put the right person on the phone?! I'm guessing I made it too difficult for him and he hung up. I live in Wolverhampton area which seems to be targeted at the moment. B******s!

Just received call from man with indian accent saying he was from accident investigation, I didn't say anything and he just hung up.  Did 1471 which revealed the number to be 091399.  Was very suspicious so decided to google it and all these comments are what I found!  My number is ex-directory too so it is very disturbing that this sort of call can be made without any come back on the caller.

I have asked the police about this via the police website and they emailed me a reply to report this possible scam to www.actionfraud.org.uk. Maybe the people who report this scam the more likely they are to be caught.

Hye, I have now received 3 of these, but have left my phone to pick up the call.  They just hung up.  I have googled the number and got this site.  I leave the ansa phone on as I got sick to death of hang-ups.  It is quite worrying though as it's amazing what people can learn from if they ask the correct question.

I insisted there had been NO accident, and he insisted there had!!  Iasked him where he got the details from and he said 'your GP'!!! I said that was most unlikely and he said - 'we are the Accident Investigation Bureau...' In the end when I would not play so he hung up on me.

Incidentally we are TPS protected so cold calls from THIS COUNTRY are blocked. So from the accent, and this, I would suggest that these strange calls are coming from India, maybe.....

I have just received a call from claiming to be from an accident investigation bureau saying that during the past year I or a member of my family had been involved in a car accident which was not our fault. The telephone number was 091399.  I am very concerned about this as earlier today I filled in an online form from 'Go Compare.com' to get a quote.  On this it was entered that there a been an accident for which we were not to blame.  Is this company passing on information, although I ticked the box saying that no information was to be passed to a third party.  Or is the person calling from this number accessing the information from the website.  Whatever is happening I am very worried about it.

Live in the Coventry area, wife took a call from this number about 1 hour ago. The call left her rather worried and upset as caller seemed to have some prior knowledge. Fortunately, she had the presence of mind to tell caller nothing.

Caller claimed to be from "Accident and Emergency Services" and had a very strong Indian accent that was extremely difficult to understand.

Like others, we are TPS registered.

Oh yes, they are targeting Coventry - I just had a call from this number and had the same "Accident Investigation" rubbish, same accent as described above.

I HAVE had an accident and am now unable to work. It is a contentious subject here - if I could have punched him through the phone, I would have. Didn't give him any details though...

Several months ago, we were getting many calls each day from these companies so we paid Virgin to change our phone number. We have been VERY selective who has this number now, so how the hell did this company get it? Are they trying numbers at random, or have they really paid the G.P. or NHS for it?

I demanded to know where he got the number from as I am ex-directory, to which he replied "we do not use a directory". I told him to remove my details from their system as I am not interested in any products or services that they offer. He got very stroppy and hung up.

I think they are targetting Coventy, 1 missed call at home, I did 1471 and the number listed is 091399.  I think it needs to be reported to local media at least ie Coventry Telegraph, Mercia Sound, CWR etc.  Some poor person is going to get scammed.

Got a call to my family Coventry landline at around 2:15pm today.

All I heard was the accent and he mumbled where he was from. So I asked
"Where are you calling from, sorry?"
"Accident Investigation Bureau London, okay?"

I hung up straight away.

No accidents or illness etc in the family recently.

Received a call from this number today from someone calling himself Mark Simons with an Indian accent!!. My wife took the call and by the time she handed the phone to me he had rung off

just had a call from 091399... glad i ignored it...why call on a friday evening when i'm drinking beer..

These bast*rd scammers frightened the life out of my 75 y/o whern they rung as her only family i.e. me and my brothers families away together in Spain, and she was worried sick something had happened to us.

She had a week of worry.  She didn't realise she could ring our mobile while we were abroad.

i just had a call on my landline but never got to it on time so i done 1471 and the number was 091399 i never called it back as i thought the number was a bit strange ... i googled it and found this page so i thought it best to inform you of the call anyway. i know i properly wont be able to help you a lot as i never anwered the call
