Am waiting for a number of calls, from workmen and from jobs I have applied for, this stupid idiot number keeps ringing, am going to answer it and scream down the phone next time!!

Just got a call from this number , I did not answer as I was suspicious of the number , hope they catch this goon soon , just wondering how he got my number as i am ex directory ,m Thius appeasto be another internet related scam , wish i could get my hands on these scum .

I've just had an indian/pakistani man trying to talk over me from the accident investigation bureau! really? I asked him to shush and he then told me to f*** off!!! Quality, total scammers and hilarious

Got a phone call from 091399 and after I done some of my own investigation, it appears to be Accident Investigation Bureau. NEVER RING THESE TYPE OF NUMBERS BACK. I read a couple of years ago that by ringing back any unknown number, you could be charged quite a lot of money.
Also, I read that you could be going into a contract by re-returning those unknown numbers and it's therefore best to do what I always do, and that is to let them ring YOU back if they really want to then you won't be gettting any bills for the calls. I was talking to someone several months ago about these annoying calls, and we both agreed that the government should step in  and FORCE all telephone suppliers (that is the company you pay your phone bill to e.g. talk talk, BT etc), to ban these type of phone numbers or ban these people from ringing us. Only genuine STD codes should be used when people ring us and not silly strange numbers. Watson, how long will you be making that cup of tea?

Received a call from 0091399 tonight ( Wed 3 Oct 2012) at 17.44 hrs. Sounded like someone phoning from a mobile in the street as there was a lot of background noise. Seemed like someone was on the other end but no speech. Said "hello" twice then a recorded voice said "goodbye" and the line then went dead.

Had a call from this number today. Couldn't  hear what he was saying and asked him to repeat it. Spoke to me as if I was an idiot and said someone had been in an accident in the last three years , was that me.He  put the phone down when I shouted at him not to phone my number again. I'm with a telephone preference service but apparently they only block calls from GB so this is clearly an off shore number.

Today Monday 12/11/12 I had a call from Accident Investigation Bureau (on dialling 1471 number was: 091399) telling me they have been sent to help my son,.....and as my son phoned me earlier to tell me the car had broken down and had called DE AA, , I took it that the AA (as it happened to me, one night a year ago with the RAC who employed contractors at night) and sent contractors to help my son.
Being of advanced age, I was worried to death as by now my son should have been on his way with the car repaired, so it prompted me to believe he had had an accident after.
Suffering with high blood pressure I was in a panic & worried to death, not knowing if my son had had an accident after breaking down........

The man, whom I noticed was not of English origin, asked me where my son was, after I explained he had been waiting for the "AA", he went on, where in the town he had broken down, also asking me for his mobile number, I had to spell my son's name and surname individually, and when asking me for more details I told him I did not know, to contact the people who told them to go and help my son, so he sharply hung up.
Thank God I did not give any more details and stopped him in his tracks, pity I did not know earlier.

My telephone is ex-directory, further more: I have recently changed telephone line & number suppliers, so: how & by what means, did this people find my ex-directory
telephone number????. I hope their grandmother/mother gets the same phone calls to see how they like it!!!!!! Scum at least have a purpose in life but this people are lower than scam or parasites......they need to be caught......

Just had a silent call from this number.   Reading the comments freaks me out a bit.  I am in the Manchester area - I have never had an accident.  I am ex-directory too.

I have just taken a call from 04052799630 (does anyone know where this is?). The caller had an Indian / Pakistani accent and said he was from the Accident Investigation Bureau who "work under the NHS". He understood that a member of my family has had an accident recently. He said they are "responsible for reducing accidents in the country" so that not so many people will die.
I told him I never give personal information to anyone over the phone, and that I was genuinely busy at the time and didn't want to be disturbed. He could ring me back later and, in the meantime, I would look them up on the internet. He then said it would be better for me to ring them at a time suitable to me, and gave me the number 2031295102. If this is a genuine phone number, I'm sure it is not in theis country.
Is it a call centre abroad, working to drum up business for ambulance chasers here?
