Just been scammed by 8Z. Little pop up and accidental click of huge pay now button. Bang, weekly subscription of 6.95 set up per week. What?!!!
Called the number and got through to a guy who said he'd cancel the subscription but the first payment would go out. I told him that what his company are doing is tantamount to theft and asked to speak to his manager. He ran me a merry dance for a while then hung up on me.
Fortunately managed to get Optus to cancel all subscriptions and told them to disconnect any Optus Pay from account. I'm expecting a call in the next couple of days to hear whether they'll give me a refund.
This whole thing is another level - how they're getting away with that I'll never know and why are Optus allowing outfits like this use Optus Pay?!!

The only way to permanently stop this is to get you local carrier to bar premium service from your account. If you want to be really confrontational, call the 1300 and ask for their physical address - its somewhere in Sydney. Calls to the 1300 are routed to 1st floor, Goodland building, Gil Puyat ave. Makati City, Philippines - do what you want with this information.
