Seemed like a legit inquiry... "is this still available".  Then when he replied and started in with the "I need your name, etc for the cashiers check" I knew it was a scam, even though he actually had a San Antonio area code.

I replied back and told him "All of the info you need is here: (and then copied the URL to this blog).  :-)

I also received a reply to a Craigslist ad in Los Angeles. The guy used 2 different e-mail addresses: bacuchi1@gmail.com and katty.weatherly02@gmail.com
He said his name was Larry Moore, and here's what he wrote:

“Thank for the prompt response my secretary will process and mail a certified draft to cover the cost as am completely satisfied with it.I
will need the details of whom & where to mail the payment

1.Name to be on the check
2.Home address
3.Mobile # preferably

Please note ‘United Parcel Service’ do not deliver to P.O.Box addresses and i will not be mailing a draft to one. My mover will be coming over for the pick up right only after the payment as been
delivered. Kindly delete the posting as am totally committed to buying from you to save cost,..Here is my relay phone # is (210) 209-8524 am
deaf and will receive your phone messages via email ,
regards”

I noticed the reply to email was different than the sent from email.

I got the same e-mail this morning regarding a set of chrome wheels I have advertised on Craigslist. These guys are bold!

Below is the message I recieved:

Scam, smelled it fromt the get go. Got the same stupid message about his secretary mailing the stupd draft, yada, yada,yada.  Blocked his emails.

I received the same e-mail from this James Burrows guy.  I replied with all the contact information from my local FBI branch.  Hope he contacts me :)

When ever anyone will not call you to a response to an ad, I always think it is something fishy, then when they try to pay you with a cashiers check, really fishy, so just had to check if any one else had any experience with this dumb a**, I should have looked up the atty generals info or the FBI and gave them that info like another poster did...

Just got the same email requesting the same info. Trying to buy my item on Craig's list. Something told me to check it out before sending my info to him. What does he gain by doing this?

Looks like this idiot is still at it.  I got the same reply to a posting I have on Craig's List last week.  I told him CASH ONLY and I never heard from him again.

The two replys were from different e-mails mik gary and mike gary at g-mail.
I responded with a FTF for cash offer.

Bet if I asked for a phone # I'd get what has been posted above.

Beware - this guy is still doing this. I just got this message for one of my postings. I did not fall for it because it just did not seem right that someone would want to send a check without ever seeing the items.
