I am contacting the police and hopefully something good will come of this.

I got the same message from this person, but the name they used was Anna Bella (annabellakbov@gmail.com). The relay # they gave was 832-390-0679.  I realized it was a scam and then typed in that phone number in google just to check and voila...found all these replies.  These scammers really make me angry!

I began receiving texts from a Yahoo! Messenger user on my phone, because i left my number in a craigslist posting advertising my home theater system. He or she expressed interest in the item and proceeded to tell me he or she was in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and I'd need to ship it. I said I wanted payment via paypal first (cause i thought that would be safest for me, but after reading all this, I'm starting to think there are ways to be gamed using that service, too). He or she said sure and to send him an invoice. I asked to what email, forgetting that he or she had given me an email address earlier in the conversation (joejtt@yahoo.com). He or she then told me a completely different address (emintaba@aol.com), and I grew suspicious. I searched the email addresses and found out what I was dealing with, and proceeded to convince this George Morrissette character that I might be able to help him make his scam better. He then invited me to chat with him via Yahoo! Messenger, saying we would be able to converse better in that program rather than via text messages.

I tried with a little bit of interest to see what he or she would reveal to me, but mostly just wasted an hour or so messing with George instead of sleeping. Silly.

I have the same situation. I found it in Craigslist about wee ago. VICTOR PEREZ who writes is an actor from London with wife in pregnant offered me job. Yesterday I got a check, sent by FedEx, 2700$, 200$ to me and 2500$ to LOIS R. ALVAREZ from DES PLAINES, IL. Someone give the same name and city earlier here on this page.

Hello I took was on craiglist.com scam.....I received a check for $2700 to be western union to this particula Louis guy! I have not deposited the check and I can not get in contact with them. This is so wrong for people to scam like this!

It's a scam I am glad I googled it. The emails say the same thing. As posted before.

I should have known when he wanted to "meet me" to pick up a wedding dress... ahem, he said he's in philadelphia and he should have known (duh) that he was looking on craigslist in nebraska. Meet him where? ahaha, what am I gonna do, drive a 200 dollar dress to pennsylvania? hmm, not good economics. pretty sophisticated use of texting though; I was suspicious as we texted, but nothing I could really nail down... could have just been someone kind of stupid. I don't think I'll use craigslist again though. Getting texts from scammers in the middle of the night is too creepy.

They are known to be the worst spammers ever!!!
Now everyone knows who is the owner of their company!

I am just dealing with this over a fish tank.  I didn't finalize the sale however they sent me an email saying they were sending a cashiers check.  As soon as that come in I will be turning it over to the police.  I am not dinking around anymore with scammers, makes the fifth one in two years, I haven't ever fallen for it, this one, I almost did.

Send it to the police, hopefully they can start an investigation, If they get enough of them, something is bound to happen.

I too rec'd the exact same emails from collins.mike02@gmail.com.  Told him we would not take possession of the cashiers check and will not cash it and send payment to his mover.  What a scam this guy (s) are trying to pull.  I hope others find and follow this  posting before it is too late!!!!!

Thank you for posting this I got the exact same email, felt so bad for her and then thought I would do a search on the gmail address to be safe and found this! lousy people. I emailed them back telling them I was reporting it to the police. sadly probably gave out to much info already :(

I was contacted with the same email (see below).  I thought it didn't sound right so I deleted the posting.  I got curious and did a search and found this string.  Thanks for sharing so others don't get scammed.

Found ad looking for Persona Asst. on Craigslist...Carson Moore is what he claimed his name was....email converstations only. Recieved package...with false address however, the phone number was 2102098524.

I just got the same thing you did every word is the same   must be a scam  I am going to send another e-mail to this link and tell them I only can take pay pal!

Thank you got a scammer too going to tell them pay pal or mothing and it must clear before they can have it, i deleated the listing but will relist when I can under the rules of craigts list
