Jon Mac, you are a huge dumb piece of [***]. You want to "give them a taste of their own medicine..."?  Do you realize that the only reason you are getting these calls is because you gave money to an organization, and then proceeded to willing give that organization your phone number?

I will never be able to understand the people that are shocked and appalled when they get phone calls from someone they gave their phone number to. What the hell did you expect?

Also, the Do Not Call List doesn't apply to you guys for two reasons:
1) It doesn't apply to Non-profit groups. (However if you are polite, we'd love to take you off the calling list for that group.)
2) It doesn't apply to people you willingly give your number to. It's sad that that isn't obvious.

If you don't like the calls, just pick up and politely explain that you would no longer like to receive calls about this group. If you are rude and annoying, odds are you'll just get more calls.

Called on 12/16/09 after 7:00pm, 1/6/10 after 8:15pm & 1/13/10 after 8:40pm. Did not pick up or responded to these calls.

If you REALLY want to stop them from calling you, simply pick up the phone the next time that they call you, and firmly and politely say,"Please remove me from your calling list." Employees are REQUIRED to terminate the call as a "remove from calling list" entry into their system. Plus, the employees usually appreciate the polite directness...

Maybe they would be treated better if that stopped calling folks who have their phone number on the Do Not Call list. They know a phone number is on the Do Not Call list because the Feds contact them when complaints are filed by folks on the Do Not Call list against the company yet they continue to call anyway. You can assure yourself that you will NEVER get a cent from me by pissing me off! The Feds may not do anything but I will keep blowing a wistle in your ear until you leave me alone! Maybe after a few busted eardrums you will finally get the message. [***] JERKS!

Number calls often, usually nobody there. Just now, caller idnetified himself as calling for the Democratic party, thanked me for my support. I took off on him and Dems, how they are ruining evrything. Hopefully, I hear no more from them. But they have been frequent and pretty much on schedule each time, like they use an auto-dial mechanism.

I understand the constant calling could be annoying, however, being on the Do Not Call List does not affect Telefunds ability to call you, the national do not call list does not apply to non profits - if you want them to stop calling - just ask! - they will take you off the list and stop calling. hope this helps!

I asked Telefund to put me on their "do not call" list (I'm on the federal one).  Two days later I got TWO calls from them a few hours apart.  Here's my suggestion. FInd out who they are calling for. Call the client (see below) and tell them you will NEVER support them again due to Telefund harrassment. Maybe this company will be put out of business.

This is a group calling itself a reputable fund-raising organization.  They blind-call the elderly and infirm and ask for money.  They are annoying, and if LA law enforcement was to act on their practices they would be shut down.   Annoying, high-paid idiots.

You are sooo full of [***]! We've been asking for 8 months to stop calling.

I too have worked for telefund in the past and NONE of the campaigns I was on were cold calls.  We only called people who had given money in the past.    

I have very thick skin and don't mine being yelled at in order to make money for a cause that I believe in.   However, if you are getting calls you don't want.  Three quick ways:

#1 - Politely tell the caller to take you off the list.   As a caller, we did this eagerly as it makes our donation/call ratio look bad.   Therefore we want to purge the list of people who don't want calls.    If you are rude, hang up, scream/curse us or tell us "that's my wife's BS" then we only hangup and the other 30 people in our call center or one of the many other call centers will call you when you automatically come up at random in the computer again.  So if you want it to stop.   Be patient and tell the caller to do so.

#2 - Don't give to gifts and include your phone number.   We didn't search out phone numbers we just called the ones you gave us.    If you give the ASPCA $1000 in 2008, you better believe that we are going to keep trying you even if you only donate $10 next time.    It's worth it.

#3 - If you don't believe in the cause, don't give.    Again we don't cold call.  

I don't expect sympathy for me as the caller but if you want to be excluded you should tell us.   Also, the previous poster is correct. the "do not call" designation does not affect a non-profit or someone that you have donated to in the past.    So, you can be mad about the tenacity of Telefund but you are the one that handed them the loaded gun.

they call several times per day/quit it! i hate this company

I got a call from this number last night right after I'd gone to sleep, at 8:54pm.  Have to work very early in am.  Don't ever want to hear from these people again.  Very rude to call so late and I never give to phone solicitations, anyway.

Thank you all for the information.  I was wondering who was calling everyday at least 2 to 3 times starting in the afternoon and through the evening.  If I do not recognize the phone number displayed, I don't answer, and since they do not leave a voice mail, I didn't know who it was.

When people work for less-than-upfront organizations, for whatever reason, they should not pay the sympathy card when people who are solicited get angry. I have been pestered by Telefund calls for years, and keep politely asking to be removed from whatever list(s) they are using -- but to no avail. So please, spare me.
