If the bleeding heart employees of this "Telefund" would just just stop and think. & calls in 5 minutes should indicate the person that  owns and pays for the phone does NOT want to talk to them whether they are calling for the ASPCA or the support you local sheriff fund. Just because a person attaches a phone number to a donation does NOT (at least SHOULD not open the owner of the telephone to repeated calls. In most cases, if the number is cell number the person called is losing either time, money or both. So, you wonder why folks get short tempered with telemarketers. Didn't we just get rid of "this is Conny with cardmember services"?

And don't try and feed us with that "NON-Profit stuff. Someone is getting fat from the calls!

Calls from LA received frequently.  The odd thing is, intending to tell them to remove my name from their list, sometimes I pick up.  I've done so perhaps 5 or 6 times.  Each time, I say, "Hello..." but, the person doesn't respond at all.  After I say, "Hello" a second or third time, I hear them hang up.   This makes me more uneasy than if they just tried to sell something, because the way it's done makes me think credit card scam.  How?  I don't know.  I'm not in the business of scamming.  I just don't like that they've reached me, and still they hang up.  I know no one in CA, so don't suspect it's personal.

Like everyone else on this thread, we've been harassed consistently by Telefund's unwanted calls, and so despite the fact that we've asked them repeatedly to take our number off their lists, including in writing.

Besides systematically filing complaints with the DNCR after each of their calls, we've taken steps to file formal complaints with the FCC, the FTC and our State's AG. And we wrote a scathing review on Yelp.

Yet, what really worked for us is that we looked at their clients' list (which you can find on their website www.telefund.com), and emailed a complaint to 10 of them (see copy of complaint below). We specifically targeted those clients' directors and membership, fundraising and press representatives. Nine responded, apologizing for Telefund's inconvenience, and 4 said that they would report this to Telefund directly.

    Telefund's calls stopped within days!

This is not to say that they won't try harassing us again in the future, so that's why we're also filing complaints with the FCC, FTC and our State's AG – for future action if necessary.

    EMAIL TO TELEFUND'S CLIENTS:

Formal complaint against your fundraising partner Telefund, Inc.

    Greetings,

We wanted to alert you about the harassing, parasitic telemarketing practices of Telefund, Inc, which poses as a fundraising company for organizations like yours.

Telefund keeps calling us several times a day, thus disrupting our home business and family life -- and so despite our repeated requests that they take our number off their lists.

Telefund's shoddy business ethics and total disregard for the people they keep harassing with their calls are working against your very own interests. We're certainly put off supporting your organization in any way.

If you intend to run an effective fundraising campaign, with donors acquired to your cause, we strongly recommend that you do so without Telefund's counter-productive input.

    Best regards,

Another Telefund employee here, and I think some people have failed to mention that we are not manually dialing your number up -- we're hooked up to computers with an automatic dialer. If the call goes through, we're connected to that call, but otherwise the computer assumes you're not home, marks it as such, and tries to call you back at another time when you might be available to pick up the phone.

Also, re: voicemails -- we are actually forbidden by federal law to leave a voicemail! An employee could be fired for doing that.

So yes, please do pick up. You'll be talking to someone, probably a student, struggling to make it by and just barely getting minimum wage. If you're polite to us, we'll be polite to you -- after being screamed at on the phone multiple times per shift, it's a huge relief to be treated like a human being. And we absolutely do take names off the calling lists when asked. Again, we could be fired for not doing that. If you get a call after that, it's either a different list for a different organisation or a computer error. If you want off the Telefund master list, like everyone's said all you have to do is call the office and use the 304 extension.

Reports I've heard of people dealing with rude or uncooperative Telefund employees are really shocking to me and I can almost guarantee you that that person would be kicked out right away for that kind of behaviour because it really is not tolerated at all. We know that we're dealing with really wonderful, compassionate people who are devoted to progressive causes and everyone I work with treats them that way. So, if it's any comfort to the people who have dealt with rude employees, there's a snowball's chance in hell that that caller still has a job after treating you that way.

Additionally I'll add that though we do take phone/web/mail donations, we also make thank you calls for recent donations and provide information about our causes' current efforts. These calls can be very informative and in some cases are downright pleasant without any monetary pledge being made. Nervous kids who are new to the job might get off a call quickly to avoid annoying people if they think they won't give money, but any seasoned caller will be really happy to talk to you about the causes, give you more information about current projects, and deal with any requests you might have of the organisation. I know that my favourite calls are not the ones that result in donations, but passionate conversations about a cause I care about deeply.

We have blocked this number since last year.  They keep calling.  Starting this week, they call every 6 minutes during the dinner time.  I just checked my phone's caller ID,  they called ten times this evening.
    ,
No matter which charities they collect money for, I will not give any money to whoever calling ten times during my family dinner time.    These people have no respect to the people whom they ask money for. Do not give an excuse this was dialed by a machine.  The frequency of the calls is set by human.  .
