Report a phone call from 234-567-8900 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- A little reminderYou can file as many complains as you want to the authorities, they just can’t catch them! You can threaten of reporting their annoying calls to the phone companies, you can swear, being rude, vulgar with them – They are the ones controlling the game.
They just hang up (laughing) until they receive a call from the next gullible person (and the wheel keeps turning).
Whatever you do or say, you won’t be taken off their automated calling list. If there is something, they will call you even more often.
They are very much up to date with the changing law enforcement techniques and like a moving target, they disappear in the field.
You can find numerous blogs and discussion forums related to this scam (this one is one of them).
For every thread on the Net that exposes their illegal activities, they have members posting a message denying complains of people who got ripped off.
They introduce contradicting information in blogs in order to confuse people who are unsure the legitimacy of their offers.
They have fake web sites, fake names, fake addresses, etc.
Based on these facts, I think the only thing that can be done is to interfere with their practices.
How can this be done?
By “putting a stick in their wheel", hitting the weakest spot – their need to grab personal information from you.
I’ve been practicing for quite a few times now and you’d be impressed by how patient they are when they feel that they have you as a fish on their hook.
Again, the only power you have over them is to spend as much time as you can to waste THEIR time.
This time you spend with them is time that they can’t use for screwing other people.
From reading in some threads on the Net, here is what I started doing:
The principle is to play the game of being interested by their offer, providing fake information, pretending, acting, and creating delays.
I hear you say that you don’t know how to reach them because whenever they call you, your call I.D. shows: 1-234-567-8900 (or any other spoofed phone i.d.).
Here are a few numbers that still work as of today: 1800-501-0100 (to reach the vacation trip scam) | 1 800 943-3250 or 1 800-961-9830 (to reach the MCS credit card interest rate scam).
Finally, here is my recipe for a great "obstruction" session upon these scammers:
1) take a hands free phone (portable is even better as you can still conduct you home activities)
2) get them to go through their entire sales pitch by encouraging and acknowledging every once in a while
3) make it last as long as your time permits (they are the one assuming the charges of the “1-800” communication)
4) When you feel that they suspect your “game” (or when you’re bored whichever comes first), find a nice and polite way to tell them that they've just wasted 15-20 minutes (sometimes more) of their precious time stealing other gullible people.
I guarantee you that you will get some reaction at the other end of the line.
Give them a ride and flood their phone lines!
Make their life as miserable as they do to it tor us.
HEARING THEIR FRUSTRATION IS A GREAT REWARD AND PURE PLEASURE. - NicoleI've received numerous calls from them and I am seriously aggravated about it. I tried calling the number listed on their privacy page but couldn't get through. I found another number for them (1-800-943-3250) and actually got through to someone. After reading a lot of posts about them, I was fully prepared to rant & rave, and be ranted and raved at. I told the receptionist I wanted to be removed from their calling list. She put me through to a man, who was actually very polite, took my phone number and told me he would put me on their internal do not call list immediately. We'll see if I get any more calls... I also filed a complaint with the BBB and the CRTC.

- NicoleI also recommend adding their email address to every mailing list you come across online. It's actually quite rewarding to know that I am, in some small way, irritating them just as they've irritated me.

Please keep complaining, especially those who had fraudulent charges on their credit card. This is not only limited to those who had fraud on their credit card but you can also complain about dishonest sales practice (they claim they are from your credit card company). Please make sure you answer “no” to the 5 first questions otherwise they refer you to other agencies.
I also found some interesting information at the following link:
http://www.bbb.org/western-washington/busines ... oma-wa-27028696
“BBB processed a total of 92 complaints about this company in the last 36 months” hmmmm... well what do ya know.
Please join me! Let’s make that number increase from 92 to over 100 complaints, to over 1000 complaints! Time to get back at them. Maybe it does not change anything but at least these bottom feeders will be exposed for what they are. Scammers.- Caller: Mutual Consolidated Savings

Seems suspicious - MG*+-Got on the website posted below--they have a "do not call" area on the website.
I also send them an email-as we have a National Do Not Call list in Canada-and once requested to be removed..they legally have to abide-problem is if they aren't in Canada.
However--I did recieve a response that I was removed-can take up to 30 days...if one more of them hangs up on me.....*GRRR*
HERE IS THEIR PHONE NUMBER--lets call THEM!!

- CharkyI called Mutual Consolidating Services at 1-800-943-3250 and spoke to "Chris", the Compliance Officer and asked him to remove my number from their list. While doing this I was told that the calls were actually coming from a company called J.P.M. at 312-249-1595. (I think Chris is getting tired of all the annoying phone calls...lol) I also called J.P.N. and told them to remove my name from their list. So far, no more calls. They sure were annoyed I was able to get their numbers and find out who they were.....lol. Call them, it will help, and give them a piece of your mind. Pass this message and phone numbers on and tell everyone to call them, the more people that do it, the more we will be able to stop rude, annoying scammers like them. Worked for me...lol. I also reported them to phone busters.

- MichaelI live in Toronto, just got a call from this number about a half hour ago. I did not answer due to me being in bed, the ring was strange perhaps because its a long distance with the 1? It rang an unusual amount of times, probably like 10 or 15. Was not picked up by my answer machine. I have received many calls in the past while I was out that was left on my machine about credit card account. Additionally my mother answered a few that said they were calling about my credit card account. I don't own any credit cards, never did and never will, I despise them. I wounder how they got such a telephone number. These calls seem very regular, dialed from some machine it seems. That is all I can tell you.
- MikeOk I phoned 1 800 943 3250 I asked if they were "Mutual Consolidating Services" and they answered yes. I told them I was in bed and recieved a call from 12345678900 and wanted to know if that was them. They said yes thats our machine and thats what shows up on your caller id. I said I wanted to speak to someone about my credit card. She transfered me. Guy asked me and I said I have 15000 in total debts on the cards. he said how many cards and i said 22. I made up my name and adress till he asked for my city, then I said my city is stop fing calling me and I hung up.
I think next time ill tell them I peed on my card in the bathroom and it raised my interest.- Caller: Mutual Consolidating Services
- Lee Anne ReidI live in Canada and received a call. No message on my machine but caller ID showed it as coming from Ohio. When I Googled it this got a link to this site from the search. Glad I searched it!
- cfromazthe number left a message for me, wanting me to vote no on an upcoming initiative in my city to build baseball fields in order to bring spring training baseball here.
- kbebI've received these calls several times even though I 'm on the do not call list. The message is a 'recording' saying it's the "final notice to lower your interest rates."
It's so obvious to see that it is a scam phone call. A recorded message does not ask to 'speak to anyone', so how would they know who they were even talking to, or if you had any kind of credit whatsoever? - AnnoyedmThere are now 96 complaints at the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and their rating has fallen from C - to D - . Way to go! See details here.

Please keep complaining, especially those who had fraudulent charges on their credit card. This is not only limited to those who had fraud on their credit card but you can also complain about dishonest sales practice (they claim they are from your credit card company) or agressive (too aggressive!) Marketing or they say there will be no charge but you get a $900 surprise on your credit card bill. Or that they refuse to take you off their calling list or that they are rude when THEY are the ones calling you.
Please make sure you answer “no” to the 5 first questions otherwise they refer you to other agencies.
The more you do, the more it hurts their business. We are getting there, please make your voice heard! Let's make those complaints jump through the roof!
Thanks.- Caller: Mutual Consolidated Savings

Lower Interest Rates Scam.
These guys realy pissed me off. So, I gave the guy crap for calling so much and he started mouthing off. Next thing I know they are crank calling me. The guy even left me a death threat on my voice mail "you are gonna die motherfu%$er".
I called the operator, they said I have 2 options.
1) call the CRTC #1-800-580-3625 and file a complaint (waste of time).
2) you can trace the # via *57 ($5 charge) and than call your local police who WILL INVESTIGATE.
I have not yet called the police but, if these guys keep calling Im going to take this further and see what can be done.
I cant remember the name of the co the guy said he was calling from but it was something like "MDA" or "MDG" or something? And I think the guys name was Mike or Mark or Many or something? - British Columbia Canadathey are at it again.
- RogerI too have been receiving calls for months from this & other numbers, that do not respect the national do not call lists,
I tried their #3 to be removed but a week or two later I am getting the same recording trying to sell me up on a low interest credit card.
I then got the bright idea to start answering all calls that appear to be from telemarketers with my fax machine (this causes the call to be dropped from their list) in the same way the telezapper does.
I was receiving about 3 telemarketing calls a day two from this bogus number.
After answering with the fax machine for two weeks I now get only one call every week or two from the bogus generated # 1-234-567-8900 this leads me to beleive that it is not the actual company that is doing the calling but they put the recordings together then pay several people to call all across north america they probably get paid according to how many suckers they reel in.
I have since moved up to a free telezapping program called "Phone Tray Free 1.31"
this program logs your calls & lets you manage your calls by caller ID, you can then black list all telemarketers & have them zapped on the second ring as well as play a nasty message to them you can also assign different ring tones for telemarketers, long distance ,local & family calls(I like to use the "Star Trek, Red Alert" for telemarketers then I know not to waste my time answering the phone. - AAPI got this call *234-567-8900 today Apr.29/09 and I live in B.C. How about calling the telephone company and telling them if they let such numbers through, people will take legal action
