Melanie, you won't believe this but Adalbert Romano is madly in love with me as well. I really fell for him too, and was so sad when his mother died Feb. 15th. in Italy. Carmen Mendoza Romano! He wouldn't let me join him or send flowers to the funeral. He was calling me from a Uk phone number and proposed to me and was coming home soon. He needed $28,600. For an investment he put in my name with his company Vanguard international! We need to talk. Do you have a picture of him sitting on a sea wall, or in a pink shirt in back of a boat, or in a bathing suite in front of a pool? I just told him yesterday, I didn't have the money, and he stopped emailing. I met him on Match.com on January 23, and he loved me from the moment he read my profile??? Could you write to me so we can compare notes?? I just want to know what I wrote in my profile that was a beacon to him that said " next victim".

No he told me his mother died in Italy February 15th,   2  days before he was to fly home to marry me! He involved me in a scam with Vanguard  shares but I have to deposit $28'600 dollars in an offshore bank account today. same guy. Can write a love letter a mile long and you fall in love with his silver tongue on the spot. Father and son killed in car crash. He's going by Adalbert Romano, but he says his real name is Alax-Henry, but his dead Mamma called him Enzo.  I have 150 emails, and probably the same pictures . Well, he is at it again.  He is using the name of MacLord Byron Harrison.  I have been communicating with him for about 3 weeks.  Then I discovered this site and found out that he has been doing this for a while.  He is supposed to be in Greece now but last week when he emailed me he was in Dubai.  He told me his mother died two weeks ago and then this morning I got an email that said his mother has cancer.  This guy is really smooth and knows what to say to a women to keep her going.  But, he has not asked for any money yet.  We are supposed to meet next weekend when he returns to US.  lol   I have not told him that I know that he is scamming women out of money.  I am just letting him to continue to email me.  And I have not answered his emails.

You know woman always want to know why? And why ME? At one time he and I had a fight about me finding multiple Facebook profiles and I called him a player and a catfish. I said to him, just tell me why you picked me??? What did I say on match.com that made you decide I'd be a good victim ? He started crying and said, I can't believe you are doing this to me, just two days after I buried MAMMA.! What kind of woman are you?? I have done nothing but love you !  Obviously he never answered my question. I have a big heart and felt so bad I apologized and told him I'd never bring it up again!

Exactly the same as the one I got. Dispicable. I just wish I had seen this before I responded. Thank God it didn't go past emails. He told me he was Steve Alfredo. I should have known he wasn't Italian. I feel so stupid and naive. Thanks for the heads up.

It was while on a tour with him to Aberdeen Scotland that I was made on offer by Vanguard investment International. I worked with them for 6 years before I returned to United States and now work as a Consultant Fund Manager.

I have attached some of my pictures which I uploaded on the dating site but since my subscription has expired, I don’t know if you were able to view them. I took the pictures three months ago when i visited my daughter in Italy. She needed new pictures of me so we used her camera to take the pictures and she printed it  and sent these ones to me. Who did you speak to at Vanguard? I would love to get this guy.

Do not respond to this man!!!!!!! He is a phony!!!!! This letter is almost identical to what I received last year from someone who was on Match.com with the name of Michael Clovis Theo who worked for Premier Investments International. Only his mother died on March 11, 2013, his daughter lived in Italy with his aunt, dad and son died in car accident. All he is doing is changing his name and job like he changes his pants everyday. I wish I had seen this site a lot sooner, he scammed me for 6 months when I finally had enough!!! Haven't heard from him since. I'm glad you were able to stop it a lot sooner than I did. Hope you are able to get this person.

I haven't heard anything back from them yet. This is interesting though. I got a call from Adalbert (that's the name my scammers using) and it was a different accent, and was not lovey dovey. It is time for me to wire transfer the $28,600. to the offshore account so they can release my $11 million. I said, this is not my Adalbert, and I'm not going to the bank till I hear from him! (I had noticed the last few calls were from a different uk number) and I added his photo on my phone contact. Not 5 minutes later my REAL Adalbert called and I recognized his voice right away. He still loved me and would be home to me in 2 days after I wired the money.
I told him the jig was up! I found a site that had identical letters, and knew everything. He then said, he works for a group that pays him $20.00 a week to carry out this scam. His usual salary is $1.00 a week so how could he refuse. They sit in a large room in Nigeria, and send emails all day, and make the phone calls as needed. They usually don't read the emails that the victims send them unless it's something they ask about several times. Like once I was sick and told him and got no response . Then I wrote an email that just said , why don't you care that I'm sick? Then I got an ecard and beautiful email to go along with it. Anyway, back to his story.
They do not write the emails themselves, the main person give them instructions each day and follows the progress of them.
Being the big hearted person that I am, which is what got me in this mess in the first place, said to him, stop doing that to people. You are going to get caught and go to jail. I know this is a good job to you but it's a bad thing you're doing. Ok, are you ready for this? Stupid me! I said find a way to America and I will help you find work, and a place to stay and watch out for you till you can take care of yourself! (I'm a co-dependent person from an abusive childhood so my nature is to try to fix anyone who is broken! That's why I am a good nurse.)Here's what he said to me, "oh my darling, I knew you really did love me all along, the voice on the phone, not pictures or pretty words. Just send the money and I will rush to your side and never leave you. You are my Joy and I have love you only from beginning. All the others are my work but you I really love". I hung up. I hope they bust this CATFISH RING, but I do feel sorry for the people that make $20 a week.
I wish we could go on Dr Phil and get the word out on this particular ring. More women would know before they got their money stolen, and heart broken. I was seriously in love with this guy, and it broke my heart when his mother died! I was suspicious from the beginning but I loved the accent and the emails were too good to be true! Good luck.
