Got the same call a few days ago.  When I said I was working and would call him back, he hung up.  Some type of scam.....

Just had a call frfom 288-918-6555, didn't get to the phone in time and they didn't leave a message on my machine.
However I do have call log directory and returned the call. No accent on gal that answered and when I said I was returning a call to this number she handed the phone to a guy. He also had no accent and I repeated why I was calling. It sounded like a party in the background and he said he had no idea about any calls.

Just received a call regarding a problem related to my computer from a deeply accented Indian???  Hung up, then redialed the number.  Answered by a "Mike" who said this was not his number and he did not place the call.

This is a scam.  They will try to sell you a windows warranty and take control of your computer so that you cannot stop the payment.

I received the same call today.  Person with Indian accent said I had a virus on my computer.  Did not go along with him and he hung up.  I noticed that some mentioned  Norton.  I wonder how many people who have gotten a call from this number use Norton's?  Also, if it is time for them to renew with Norton's?

Received call from this scammer from India, I think.  Now my computer won't even boot up.  Would like to get the police on him but think he probably lives in India or Pakistan.  A real bummer so ignore if he calls you.

Same - called to talk about my computer.  Told him we had no access to it and he hung up.

Unbelievable!  This same number just called me.  Right off the book I knew something was "PHISHY!"  I played along for a second then threw an expletive at him and hung up.

He calls back 5 mins later.  I yell another flavorful expletive at him and shouted something about jail to him.

Immediately calls back and I ignore.  Calls right back and I answer yelling "WHAT?????"  He says "YOU go F*** OFF!"  HA!!!  I don't respond and hang up.

Calls me back AGAIN and calls me an "ASS!"

Crazy!!!!!!

Wanted access to my computer big time and even tried a "supervisor" when I couldn't understand the first guy. Googled the number on the phone while he thought I was listening to his instructions. Told to stay on the line a little while longer while I had the call traced...hung up imidiately!!

Did you file a complaint on the Internet Crime Control Center?  Do so if you haven't.

I tried to play along with this guy.  He wanted me to to get to the run command in windows, and i was dying to see where he went from there, but he hung up.  I think as soon as he detects that the person he calls is computer savvy he bails out immediately.  I pity the poor sucker who falls for his obvious scam.

A man with a indian accent called me from this number and told me to go [***] myself. I want something done about this.

O.K.  So I received the same call.  I haven't read any comments that included efforts to report this idiot.  I called CHARTER, with whom I have phone service, and their solution was to "block" that number from coming into my phone.  Great.  But, that doesn't STOP this idiot.  FCC?  Law enforcement?  Anyone?  This idiot uses a real phone and phone number.  And, according to some of these posts, he even answers the phone when you call him back!  Is anyone trying to STOP this guy? Or, do we just throw up our hands and say, "Oh well....at least he didn't get into MY computer", block his number and forget it?  I'm in my late 60's.  Perhaps I'm just too old to accept the "new American way" of dealing with such issues.  Any thoughts?

called today around 4pm. said something about Windows and had recieved notification that our computer was infected. let him talk for a while before hanging up. Hard to understand due to accent. continued to call back and back. I hung up before he came to the phone. finally pulled the plug on our phone to stop the phone calls. Hopefully it will stop.

What they want is your credit card number.... they seek out the vulnerable and the willing.  Most are too smart for that but you'd be surprised how many people do give it.

They guy wanted me to get on my computer so he can show me what the problem was.  I told him I didn't have connection now but he was so willing to wait and help me through it.  Yeah right.... who from Microsoft will patiently wait and not get paid for it.  This happened to my mother in law and she gave them her credit card number.  After she hung up she realized it was a scam and cancelled her card.  They're out there and they want to steal from you!

This guy from 288918 655 will be calling me back in 15 minutes.  Thanks to you all for the scam warnings!

I am on DO NOT CALL LIST. This person/company/scammer needs to be fined or JAILED for FRAUDULENT phone calls. Stop this garbage. Connected to our companies that OUTSOURCE to countries that SCAM Americans. Do NOT do business with companies that have Help #'s out of USA.
