I just got a call from this number and honestly I've never felt more humiliated in my life. He was asking if my mother was home and I told him that she was out, which was the actual truth. Then he pauses and asks in Urdu "How would you like it if I touched you?" At first, I thought I heard something else and replied "What?" and he said "Touch, touch, how would you like it if I did that?"

I was so furious and yelled at him to go to hell before shutting the phone off. This guy is a pervert and a scam. Block your number from him.

Rec'd a call from this number around 530 pm.  it was a man with a thick accent and a lot of background noise.  He said he was calling from Microsoft Windows 7 support and there was an issue with my computer and something about infections from two weeks ago.  I said "yeah right...you work for microsoft and they are calling all of their consumers to tell them there are issues with their computers without the customer calling first.  I don't think so".  He insisted he was microsoft so I asked him for the 800 number that I could use to call back and he immediately hung up.  as other posts say...beware and don't give out any information to anyone over the phone unless you called them directly.

Got a call from Edward on this number this morning. Told me he was calling from Microsoft tech support. Wanted me to give him remote access to my computer for him to perform tech support "to address my problem." Indian accent. Said he was in West Virginia. Gave his callback number as 427-047-36-36-08. A completely bogus call but a very clever phishing scheme.

I had the call too but missed it.  The irony is I AM having trouble with Microsoft...but I know well enough not to take the bait from this helpful "rep" who is calling me.  It makes you wonder if someone out there infects your computer, knows it will cause you problems and then calls so it is perfectly timed.  My antivirus hasn't picked up anything but that doesn't mean squat usually.

In that case...you should have contacted the police.  That could have been enough to have them look into this number that is calling.

The person identified himself as Edward from Microsoft. He tried to get me to install software to remove viruses from my computer. Microsoft has no way of identifying you, & doesn't have your phone number! DON'T BE FOOLED!

Just got a call from this number 5:45pm..Did not answer.

I got a call from this number, saying his from microsoft (Indian accent) and was reported that I have problem in my computer. which  I really have have problems in one of my laptop.  I asked him which computer because I have 3 laptops.  He can't identify which one. He wanted me to turn on computer and show me how to fix this.  I think tthis is a scam!

288-918-6555 called today around 5 pm.  I dId not answer.  After reading the entries here I am glad I did not answer the call.

I just got the call from 288-918-6555 as well, same guy claiming to be from Microsoft, same Indian accent.  I have worked in the computer industry for 20 years and know that this isn't how Microsoft "fixes" issues.  I asked him for a good phone number to call him back and that he could then run his tests.  He put me on hold and hung up.   I will file an FTC complaint on this one.

Just got this same call. Knew my first name and tried to tell me my computer had downloaded a virus. I told him it hadn't then hung up.

First off, I am 17 years old and was home sick today so I answered this call. He was incredibly hard to understand and when I told him that my parents weren't home to do it so we could do it another time, he insisted on me doing it. I began to fix it but grew nervous and stopped after pressing te first Microsoft flag key, then hung up. Anyone from Microsoft would not expect a teenager to do this. This guy is a menace and needs to be stopped. Call was at about 11am April 10, 2013 .

I had the same thing happen yesterday and he had the nerve to call again today. I told him not to call this number back again and hung up on him. Something needs to be done about this guy but it seems it will take  him ripping off someone for any law enforcement to then go after who it actually is. I sure hope he gets caught doing this crap,

I recieved the same call today, I told the individual that he had called a large corporation and the I was the administrator of the IT department and that what he had stated was impossible, firewalls and antivirus programs prevent it, I then aske who he was and informed hime that I have his phone number and I will follow up with the authorities.
He hung up rather quickly ;-)

Caller said he was from some Windows software company and told me my computer had downloaded some type of malicious something and could crash any second.  My mother had the same call several months ago and I traced it to Windows Live.  They keep your personal information on file and share it with telemarketers who prey, it seems, on older people who may be easy targets.  The purpose is to get your credit card information and charge you to fix the problem when, in reality, there is NO problem.  Thank Microsoft for this!

I just received a call from 288-918-6555.  Yeah, he was asking about a He didn't realize that he was speaking with an IT guy.  After he realized it, he hung up.  I am tired of these scams.  I feel bad for people that don't know any better.
